CHAPTER ELEVEN.

 Dropping off Nova at the pack house, Adrian had no choice but to leave his mate and follow Alpha Colton and I. He was talking, but I wasn't listening.

These days, I've been preoccupied with the thought of Lucien too much. He's everywhere. My mind, My dream and even my hear-

  No! I can't let that happen. I'm to mate with Nova! Yes Nova! Who's nothing like Lucien.....

  ' Head Alpha! Beta Adrian! Please hurry to the park house! Lucien got into a fight with Nova and he's not listening to anyone. I'm afraid he might do something uncalled for!'

  Adrian and I simultaneously stopped walking and stood frozen. Lucien got into a fight with Nova?! That kid can't differentiate between a man and a woman. He might really do something stupid!

 I glanced at Adrian who nodded and took off for the pack house. That was one of our warrior, Dylan. He wouldn't have mind linked Adrian and I unless it was something he couldn't intervene in.

  My gaze hardened when I recalled who Nova is. She likely used her father's name to stop the others from intervening in the matter but what she didn't expect was that, Lucien was no pushover!

" Is everything alright?" I snapped out of it when i heard Alpha Colton's voice. I forgot he was with us for a second.

" It's not much of a big deal. Adrian can handle the kids."

" Alright. Where was I ? Ah, right! I know Nova is not your fated mate and she might be a handful sometimes, but I want you to be patient with her. You know, she's the only child Maria and I have. We've spoiled her a bit too much, so she might tend to annoy you sometimes but as her mate and Alpha, you have to be patient with her and give her the same amount of love you'll give your fated mate."

 A bit is an underestimation! Take a good look at your chIld. And I'm not her Alpha. We both know this is a marriage of convenience. If it were really up to me, i wouldn't have agreed. I'd rather die alone than live with someone I don't want.

But I need her. I need Alpha Colton's support and I need to continue the family lineage. Just thinking about it is giving me a heada-

' Rhaegal!'

  That was Adrian. He didn't say anything else but it seems this is bigger than I thought. That Silver haired, mixed eye troublesome omega!

 " Alpha Colton. Please continue your stroll. I need to handle something at the pack house." I said and ran back towards the pack house.

 I ran into the living room and made a beeline for the kitchen when I saw everyone crowding outside it.

 Stepping into the kitchen, I saw a fuming Lucien holding unto Anna, a scared Xavier hiding behind Adrian and a bleeding Nova being held back by mom.

 " What the fuck happened here?" I couldn't control myself and ended up cussing.

 " Brother!" Anna jumped on me with a wronged expression " Lucien said he's leaving tomorrow! He's leaving with Xavier!"

  I rolled my eyes. I've lost count of how many times he'd said that in the last few weeks. He said the same thing last evening.

" It's all her fault!" Anna suddenly pointed at Nova with an angry look " She attacked us! She started it first and she almost injured me! Lucien was just protecting us."

" Anna-"

" Lucien's right! You're not my brother's real mate! You're a replacement! "

 " Anastasia! " Mom growled.

 Anna cowered back and didn't even cling unto me to act as a shield but ran back to Lucien and hid behind him.

 What the hell happened in the span of thirty minutes?

 " Dylan. What happened here?" I called him out.

" Alpha. " He walked out " I'm not sure what started it, but Ms Scott came in and asked about Beta Adrian's mate. I told her he was in the kitchen and she walked in. Not long after, we heard someone screaming, so we all rushed in to find Anna and Xavier hiding behind Lucien while Ms Scott was screaming at them."

 " That barely clothed Vixen barged in here with the intentions of taking revenge on Xavier for some stupid Nico." I heard Lucien's calm voice transmit through the quiet room.

 Barely clothed Vixen? I mean I'm just as annoyed, but he seems livid. I can't blame him though. Almost every pack member knows how protective Lucien is about his brother.

" What exactly happened?"

" Alpha Rhaegal." Xavier walked out from behind Adrian " Lucien had no Intention to hit her at first, but she was about to dig out my eyes with her nails. She said I wasn't supposed to be Beta Adrian's mate but her best friend Nico. She even threatened to kill us."

 Okay, so, maybe Xavier's exaggerating the issue a bit to make sure his brother doesn't get punished.

" Nova. Your father's waiting for you in my office." I turned to her and said calmly.

" You're not going to do anything about this?!" she yelled " He could have fucking killed me! He threw me across the freaking room!"

" Nova. Have I been too lenient with you?" My voice and gaze grew cold " Not only did you attack my pack members, but you attacked Adrian's mate. You could have injured my sister. Let me make one thing clear to you.

" This is my pack. My territory and not your father's. Do you think I wouldn't do anything to you because of your position as the future Luna?"

 " Rhaegal."

" Mother." I didn't look at her " Not this time. Ms Scott. Your father is waiting for you."

 Nova's faced flickered through different shades of colors. She picked up her broken heel and walked out while fuming.

" You're all dismissed." They all scattered to the living room.

 I shut the door behind them leaving, me, Adrian, mom, Xavier, Lucien and Anna in the kitchen.

" Rhaegal. Do you know what you've done?"

" I'm afraid not mother." I picked my ear and waited for a lecture.

" You can't be on bad terms with Alpha Colton. I know you don't agree to this but you can't openly showcase it." Mom said.

" She could have injured Adrian's mate if Lucien wasn't here." my voice was dark " What if Lucien was like the others who can't go against her because of her father? What would have happened to the three of them?"

" Forget it. You'll have to explain to Alpha Colton yourself." mom turned towards them " I have something to talk about with them. Why don't you three go up to your room Lucien?"

 Lucien nodded and grabbed two plates of food before leaving with Xavier and Anna.

" What has gotten into you Ray?"

" What do you mean?" it's never good when she calls me that....

" Tell me the truth. Do you like Lucien?"
