CHAPTER TEN.

 I walked into the kitchen with Xavier and grabbed a plate. I hadn't eaten anything since the night before, and I'm famished right now.

" Try the chicken." I complied and placed one on my plate.

 Following Xavier's lead, I filled my plate and grabbed one for Anna while asking her what she wants. The kitchen was empty of wolves and it was relatively quiet. I took the opportunity to talk to Xavier.

 " You slept in Beta Adrian's room didn't you?"

  I saw him froze momentarily. It took him a few seconds to gather his thoughts before turning towards me with guilt.

" Lucie I'm sorry." he lowered his head " I don't know what came over me but I promise! We didn't do anything!"

 " it's fine. " I sighed " I don't want you to be forced into a situation where you have to lie to me. Don't ever lie to me again. If he makes you happy then be with him. I won't object. "

 " Really?! "

" I swear on you." Xavier jumped on me with excitement.

" Hey don't squish him!" Anna tried to separate us. We laughed while lifting her up and placing her on the stool.

 Suddenly, a commotion transmitted from the living room. I didn't pay attention at first cause I thought it was the wolves house roughing each other. The door suddenly swing open and a scent filled the room.

 It was disgusting. It wasn't the scent of Alphas or Betas cause I've gotten to use it already, no , rather, it was the smell of a lady's perfume.

 A petite lady with long curly blonde hair, slim figure and fair skin walked in. She had heavy make up on with very exposing clothing and heels. While she looked beautiful to others, I was thoroughly disgusted.

 " So it's you!" she pointed her polished fingernail at Xavier.

 I frowned and dragged Xavier behind me while shielding Anna too. I've never seen her before and even though I don't really get along with most of the people here, I would remember her if I've ever come across her before. Her current image isn't something you'll forget so easily.

 " You are?"

" Get out of my way!" she approached " That vixen thinks he can snatch away my best friend's mate! I'll teach him a lesson on Nico's behalf."

 She reached out to grab Xavier as my gaze grew cold. I grabbed her hand and pushed her back. She seemed surprised and caught off guard as she stumbled and broke one of her heels.

 Her screeching had attracted the other wolves as they filed into the kitchen and filled the doorway.

 " Stay the fuck away from my brother!" I seethed.

" You vixen! " she screeched " Do you know who I am?! I'm the future Luna of this fucking pack! "

" Yeah and I'm the current Luna. " I sneered " I don't give two shits who you think you are. You lay a finger on my brother and I'll bury you alive! "

  The wolves looked flabbergasted for some reason as they all stood back and watched on with anger and regret written on their faces. I sighted Eric and beckoned unto him.

 " I've never seen her before. Who the fuck is she?"

 " She... she's Alpha Rhaegal's future Luna."

 " Your Alpha's got terrible taste in women." I frowned in disgust " if she's going to be the Luna, I'll pack up and leave by tomorrow morning."

 " How dare you?! Do you know who my father is?!" She screeched all of a sudden.

 " No. But do I look like I give two fucks who you think you are?"

" Lucien." Eric tugged at my coat " She's the daughter of Alpha Colton. Their pack is the largest in California."

 My frown deepens when I heard that name. I know who Alpha Colton is, he's no stranger to anyone. I can't believe such a powerful man raised such a crazy daughter.

 " You're Alpha Colton's daughter?"

" Now you know to be scared" she approached me again " it's too late for that! This vixen thinks he can mate with Adrian? I'll kill him before that."

 I grabbed her hand and gripped It with force as my frown turned into a murderous look.

" I wonder how such a great man like him raised such an uncouth woman like you." I drew her close " But if you think I'm scared of you or your father, you've got another thing coming. No one threatens my brother, not even your fucking father."

 I threw her across the room and didn't care if she was a lady or not. They're all nothing but flesh and blood to me. If she think I'm just gonna stand there and let her scratch out Xavier's eyes with her nails, she's sadly mistaken.

  The room fell silent as the lady flew across the kitchen and landed on the other side. She screeched all through the process making my ears bleed.

 " You lunatic!" she got up again but this time, she was bleeding from her forehead " I'll kill you!"

" That's enough!" A thick voice thundered and rendered us all immobile.

  Beta Adrian rushed into the room and made a beeline for Xavier.

" Are you okay?"

 " Who the fuck is Nico?" I questioned coldly.

 I saw him frown with worry before drawing Xavier into him.

" No one." he replied.

" Do I look like Xavier to you?" my voice grew cold " That crazy woman barged in here and wanted to dig out Xavier's eyes all because he's your mate and not some stupid Nico."

 " I'm telling you, he's no one."

 " Lucien?" I shot my head towards the door to see a confused Nyx walk in " Wh... what's going on here? Nova what happened?"

 " That Vixen!" she pointed at Xavier while screeching " Nico's supposed to be Adrian's rightful mate. Who the fuck does he think he is?"

" That's enough Nova!" Adrian growled " Nico is not my Fated mate, Xavier is. And I believe I explained that to your father and Nico's parents last night. Coming here to attack my mate, do you think I won't dare to do anything to you?"

" Adrian-"

 " You're not Alpha Rhaegal's real mate." I didn't let Nyx speak cause I didn't want the matter to die down that easily " You're just a replacement so know your place. If they won't go against you, I will. Waltzing in here naked and barely clothed, yet calling my brother a Vixen? I wonder what kind of training you were instilled with."

 Nyx sighed and dragged me backwards. I didn't care about the outcome. Seeing her Vixen face cloud with anger made me feel immensely happy and extremely satisfied.
