CHAPTER NINE.

 Lucien stood there as different emotions flashed through his eyes. He clenched his fist with an expression of someone who just lost a battle.

" I'm sure you don't want that for your brother." Mom kept on persuading " Lucien... Trust me."

 His gaze hardened even more. If I don't step up now, we'll have three werewolf funeral to arrange soon.

" Let's go to my office." I proclaimed.

 " No." he grabbed his brother " Xavier and I are leaving."

" You can't!" both mom and I growled.

" I beg your pardon? Don't tell me what I can and cannot do."

" Everybody out! " The pack house got empty in two minutes.

" I think that's enough tantrums for one day." I turn towards Lucien " I have no idea what goes on in that head of yours, but you'll rather let your brother suffer the pain of losing his mate and wolf just because of something that happened a long time ago?"

 He started wavering. He refuse to make eye contact with any of us as he held his brother hand.

" Do you want to be with him?" he asked without looking at Xavier.

" I... I don't know. " Xavier held him back " I'll go with whatever you decide."

 I saw his expression grow worse. He dragged his brother forward and handed him over to mom.

" I can't decide for you, especially if it's something that'll cause you pain." he raised his head and stared dead at Adrian " I'm handing over my brother to you. If he so much as complain about you, I'll bury you alive."

  He turned and ran up the stairs, definitely heading to his room. I heard mom sigh before turning to Xavier.

" Is he mad at me?" Xavier panicked.

" Why would he be mad at you?" mom consoled " He just needs more time to come to terms with some things."

" Can you feel it? " Adrian walked forward and towered over Xavier.

 I saw him lower his head with conflicted emotions before nodding slowly. He can feel their bond.

" Zade says you're my mate." He said softly.

 I grew tired and kinda grossed out watching the new couple. I turned and walked out only to fall into the hands of my curious and giddy pack members.

" Is Xavier really Beta Adrian's mate?"

 I simply nodded and walked off. I felt a headache coming on and another's arriving tomorrow. The omega I'm suppose to marry is coming tomorrow.

 Christmas morning.....

 The pack house was filled to the brim with wolves and laughter. Adrian refuse to leave Xavier's side. They're practically joined at the hips.

Everyone had come to accept Lucien and Adrian, and even started calling him their beta's Luna. Speaking of Lucien..... I haven't seen him come down since this morning. Still coming to terms with things I guess.

" Brother where's Lucie?" Anna ran up to me and asked.

" Good question. Why don't you go up and convince him? He'll listen to you."

 Anna nodded seriously like she just got a very important mission before running up the stairs. One of this days, she might fall from all that running.

 Soon, Lucien walked down the stairs with Anna in tow. His face was expressionless making it difficult for me to know what's going on in his mind.

 " Lucie!" Xavier ran up to his brother " Are you still mad at me?"

 The pack house had gone quiet as they all perked their ears to listen in on the conversation. Very nosy bunch of wolves.

 " Who said I was mad at you?" Lucien replied helplessly " And you? Where did you sleep last night?"

" I...I was with Nyx. I swear to Goddess!" Xavier quickly replied.

  Lucien stared at him for some time before glancing away.

 " Are you hungry? Nyx made a lot of food but I was worried you were going to kick me out so I didn't want to disturb you."

 Lucien nodded and followed behind his brother. I stood up and walked out before pulling out my phone and checking the message I received few minutes ago.

  My future mate had arrived.

 I walked towards my office and pushed the door open.

 " Rhaegal!" a cheerful voice greeted.

 " Alpha Colton." I greeted the man back.

" Oh don't be so formal. We'll be in-laws soon." I just nodded and glanced at the person beside him.

 " Ms Nova." I greeted.

" What Ms? We'll be mated soon. Why so formal?" her thin voice asked.

 Meet Nova Scott. One and only child of Alpha Colton Scott, leader of the largest pack in California. Their pack is situated in the East. We're second to them in ranking but they're extremely powerful. More than they claim to be.

 His daughter Nova Scott, isn't really my type but Dad arranged this cause we needed their support. Packs in the west and south had been targeting us for years. They can't get to the largest pack but they can challenge my pack if they worked together.

This marriage is more like a marriage of convenience. It's not something I totally agree on but the pack comes before anything.

" Please have a seat."

 " I heard Adrian found his mate." Alpha Colton sat " Nico will be heartbroken by this. He's been looking forward to mating with Adrian but things like this can't be forced or changed."

 " I agree." I nodded " it's not something any of us were expecting but nonetheless, Adrian had become a henpecked husband in the last twenty four hours."

 " Wow!" Nova exclaimed " I can't wait to meet the one who's brave enough to tame someone like Adrian within twenty four hours."

  We all laughed and indulged in small talks and it was getting increasingly difficult for me to not scrunch up my brows whenever my gaze pass over Nova and her indecent dressing.

 I get the fact that she's a daddy's girl, but visiting the pack you're getting married into while dressed like that? That's a very bold move. Jax has been growling in my head nonstop and I can't stop thinking about him....

I have to stop. I have to...I have.....I.....I can't!

 " Why don't we go join your pack members and introduce them to your future mate?" Nova suddenly suggested " I haven't seen Luna Nyx in a long time either."

  As much as I wanted to refuse, I ended up nodding. I wanted to see a particular silver haired omega.
