Chapter 16- Oops

"What the hell?" Rae hissed as she saw Jae taking out the dress from the carton. No doubt, she ain't wearing that.

"Before you start, let me say that mom picked it for you." Jae says in a calm tone, he knew that this would happen so he decided to clear himself.

"She knows very well I don't like such stuff." Rae speaks in an angry tone and lets out an unintentional pout. Jae laughs.

"Well, she picked it for you herself. This party is not a normal one." Jae speaks in deep thoughts while the younger had problems regarding the same.

"Jae, we need to do something about the dress right now. Help me." Rae cocluded at last. Thinking about something else right now won't work. Focus.

"What can we do?" Jae sighs and takes out his attire for the occasion. A formal suit with a tie and those pants as a bottom wear. That's it?

"Why do girls always have to wear this, it's unfair." Rae mumbles to herself and Jae chuckles.

"You know, many girls die for such dresses, unlike you." Jae responds and takes his costumery to go and change.

Rae felt mischief grow inside her and she takes that dress and stuffs it back inside the carton. Instead of wearing that dress, she takes out another one. The dress she took out was good and formal enough, though she didn't like to wear it either but she wore it anyway.

Jae comes back with his attire looking absolutely handsome (did I mention that both siblings are blessed by the goddess of beauty?)

and not really surprised, he knew she would change back.

"Ready?" Jae asks her as she applied some light make up on her face.

"Yeah." Rae replies him and the both of them hurry their way to the car. They reach the venue decided after half an hour. The place seemed like a small house outside...not at all resembling what a grand ball would be like.

"This is it? Wait are you sure?" Rae asks as she took a look around herself. A small house which seemed abanded and surrounded with basically nothing. Well not a house, more like a traingular shaped small workspace.

"The invitee says it's this one..." Jae replies with a muddled face as he looks around and then his eyes catch someone peeking from the window of the workspace. The person watching them squints his eyes as if he's trying to focus.

"Rae...I think that guy is calling us." Jae says and nudges her shoulder. She nods in response. The both of them go near the workspace and the person who was spying opens the door and whispers:

"Your invitation card please?" The guy inquired. He revealed his attire, he looked like a gaurd usually hired for such occassions.

Jae takes out the card and shows it to the gaurd and he takes a look at it and shows a panicky reaction.

"Oh, it's the Kim family! I'm sorry sir I didn't know- it's okay, don't worry about it." The guard started his apology but Rae cuts him off. The gaurd still retracts but the both of them didn't really mind it.

"I'll show you the way to the grand hall." The gaurd says and bows down. The small house reveals a door and surprisingly, a herd of stairs welcomes them.

A He starts walking while the siblings follow him. Rae stepped into her pool of thoughts again.

Just what does her family do that everyone is so respectful towards them? She never knew about that....

Jae does. She always questioned him about it but he would always change the topic or pretend as if he didn't hear her.

She only knows that her dad is some great buisness guy and they have a high reputation in the society, that was the lie which she haves been living with ever since she was young.

But Rae isn't dumb. She knows that there's some illegal shït going on down there.

"We're there." The gaurd speaks and they glance around them. A grand foyer indeed.

There was a huge dining table on the front, lights decorated the hall and gave it a touch of elegancy. A beautiful chandelier trimmed with candles held up in the centre which caught everyone's attention. As expected of the Kims, everything was perfect.

Rae spotted her parents, chatting with a small crowd and drinking from a glass of refined wine. Her mom saw her and flashed a disappointed look, as Rae didn't wear the dress she was supposed to. As she should.

Rae held a confident face and walked past them, not bothering to greet anyone. She walked towards the drinks corner and ordered some drink for herself. All eyes turned on her, as she twirled around, her not so long hair swirls. Meanwhile, Jae decides to greet his parents.

"Everyone, may I get your attention please?" Mr. Kim called from the mic and everyone kept silence, accepting his request.

"Firstly, I would like to thank everyone who took some time off to come to this event. It's a pleasure for us....." He started talking and Rae dozed off as she heard that speech alot of times before too, boring stuff.

"I'm very delighted to inform a great news. The Min co-orporation and the Kims have decided to collab this year!" Mr. Kim says and noises of cheer come from everyone, while Rae snaps back to attention.

"Mins? I've heard this name...maybe I'm overthinking." She reassures herself and tells her mind that it might be some other Min.

"Now, I call the heir of the Min family, the person who holds a quite impressive personality and suceeded in the young age of only 19 years!" Mr. Kim says and a similiar looking guy enters the hall while everyone cooed.

"Hello everyone, I'm Min Kami, who is looking forward for this new start!" Kami introduces himself, jealous glares get shot at him but he ignores them, looking for a certain someone in the crowd.

Rae stands there, bewildered and unaware of what to do, all the theories struck her brain and the first thing which she did, without thinking about anything was- run.

At last, the thing she feared did come true.
