Chapter 15- How to ditch a party

"Hey?" Sehun speaks out of nowhere. The three of them- Rae, Aviva and Sehun were just hanging out with each other after classes and they were unusually quiet. They mostly talk about literally anything but not today.

"Um hey, how were your classes?" Aviva asks him, to lessen the sudden awkward situation. Gosh, why are Rae and Sehun acting so weird?

Rae was still deep in her thoughts, about the moments that happened not during the day. Her cheeks redden up as she recalled that event, she has never been that close to any guy before. So, Kami was her fiRsT. Well, not exactly, she didn't kiss him or anything, but still.

Wait, why is she even thinking of kissing him? She smacked herself mentally and reassured that she does not intend to have any bad intentions with that pervert. He's just a benchmate.

"He smells like strawberries and some fancy cologne." She mumbles to herself and slaps her inner self once more.

Her mind won't let her breath in peace though. It will always replay that situation again and again. That made her uncomfortable and the more she wanted to forget it, the more it bothers her.

"I was just trying to make friends." Those words ring in her ears. She could see that Kami tried multiple times to approach her but she would always cut him off.

What if he's really geniune?

"Rae? You there?" Aviva inquires, dragging Rae out of the pool of her deep thoughts.

"Uhm yes? Sorry for dozing off." Rae quickly covers up and answers her. She totally forgot about her current surroundings, in that way Aviva and Sehun will start getting worried, which is the last thing she wants.

"Is something bothering you? You seem quite off lately." Aviva asks her, making Rae unsure of what to say. Is it okay to tell her?

"Yeah, you can trust us." Sehun assures, pating her head. He wanted to continue patting but he could hear muffled giggles from Aviva so he stops.

"It's actually- is Miss Aurelia here?" Rae starts but soon gets interrupted by a voice. The three look beside and set their eyes on a teacher, who was searching for Rae.

"Yes? That's me." Rae answers the teacher. She felt a little relieved that she got to escape the embarrasing situation.

"There's someone named Kim Jae who is looking for you." The teacher replies, she felt glad inside that she didn't have to search for her all over.

"Jae? That's my brother, I'll come." Rae excuses herself and Aviva nods her head. Rae was kinda surprised and happy to see her brother after so long. But then it started creeping her- why did her brother suddenly come to her school out of nowhere? If it turns out to be someone else Rae promised herself and she'll beat the fakie who was acting like her brother. Yes, Rae overthinks alot.

The teacher told her that her brother was waiting for her at the reception and Rae mumbles a small thank you before going to the place mentioned.

She slowly makes her way to the reception and finds a similiar looking figure standing there, with his hands inside his pockets and looking as if he's waiting for someone. It indeed is Jae.

"Jae! You here so suddenly?" Rae calls him before giving him a quick hug and also reassuring her mental self that she didn't have to beat any fakie now.

"Hey...I wanna talk about so much but we got to go right now." Jae responds and brushes his hands over her hair, like Sehun did a few minutes earlier.

"Go? Where?" Rae asks him back. She already had a bad feeling about this. Jae's here means that something is wrong home.

"We have a....party to attend." Jae lets out a sigh while answering. He knew how much Rae hated attending family functions and stuff and she would skip those most of the time. But this one was important.

"What party? I hate those and I have class- keep that stuff for later Rae, we really need to go, it's not like we have a choice, so please come right now. I will explain everything to you in the car." Jae says, cutting her off. He already knew that Rae's mind would create hundreds of excuses so he had to do it. He hears a small voice indicating protest from Rae but she finally gives in.

She packs some her neccassary items needed for one night while Jae dealt with the school stuff. Rae texted Aviva that she won't be there for the upcoming night and that she will tell her the reason later.

When they're done, the both sat on the car, which Jae drove. He was just about to get attacked with alot of questions, which he knew very well.

"Okay...so tell me, what's this all about?" Rae starts as soon as they reach the school gate.

She saw the garden which again reminded her of an incident which bought shivers to her cheeks.

"Mom and dad. They have this stupid party in which all of the family members are required to be present. The worst thing is that our family is one of the people hosting it." Jae speaks, already annoyed. He wasn't interested in that party either.

"Isn't there any way we can like....ditch it? Like last time." Rae says with a small grin. Yes, the both of them did go to some parties but they would only mark their prescence and then.... poof- vanished already. Not that it affected any thing or person in the over embellished party.

"Last time was fun, I hope we can do that in this one too." Jae answers with a laugh, remembering the memories. The both of them were bored till an extent in which they sneaked outside and had dinner out. Jae with his formal suit and Rae on a grand gown (which she hated), riding their bikes and dining on a small restaurant, which was not too famous but had delicious food. Oh, how she wanted to do that again.

If there was someone whom Rae completely trusted, it was her brother. He was her best friend and also her crime partner. Their bond was almost unbreakable, untill Rae went to Boarding. Jae was mad at her but respected her decision, sticking to it as he promised her that he will try his best to help her achieve her own dreams, rather than being a puppet of their parents.

They spent the time left chatting with each other, catching up. Rae told him everything, just removing the tiny accidents she had with a certain someone.

They reached the hotel they were staying at for a few hours to change and get their fancy clothes.

"Damn, if it's that gown again, I'm burning it."

Rae comments, raged remembering how uncomfy it was. Jae laughed.

"It's something else, wait, let me show it to you." Jae chuckles and takes a wide carton out. He slowly opens the box and looks inside it, to check if it's the correct one. He takes a dress out---

"What the-"
