Flashback 0.2~¹⁷
Scene: Outside Base 17 – Taehyung’s Descent Into Isolation
Taehyung, his mind a whirlwind of chaos, walks back to Base 17. The empty halls seem like a ghostly reminder of the events that have transpired. He’s lost in thought, unable to grasp any sense of peace.
He walks into his quarters, his bag dropping with a thud on the floor. He slumps into the chair, exhausted from the weight of it all. After a moment, the door opens, and Jungkook steps inside, his expression full of concern.
Jeon Jungkook (Past)
(Softly, hesitantly) “Taehyung... you look... exhausted.”
Taehyung doesn’t even look up, his voice cold and distant.
Kim Taehyung (past)
“I don’t need anyone right now.”
Jungkook flinches at the harshness in Taehyung’s voice but steps closer, wanting to comfort him.
Jeon Jungkook (Past)
(Gently) “Taehyung, you’ve been through so much. It’s okay to—”
Kim Taehyung (past)
(Snapping) “You don’t understand. My world is falling apart, Jungkook! Yoongi’s dead... My fathers are gone... And now... they’ve destroyed everything.”
Jungkook freezes, his face a mix of worry and confusion, unsure of how to help.
Jeon Jungkook (Past)
(Quietly) “What... what are you talking about?”
Taehyung stands abruptly, his voice filled with bitterness.
Kim Taehyung (past)
“Yoongi’s name... they’ve ruined it. He’s been accused of crimes... of betraying us... And my father... he’s gone...”
Jungkook steps forward, his eyes filled with sorrow as he reaches out.
Jeon Jungkook (Past)
(Softly) “Taehyung, I’m here for you.”
But Taehyung pulls away, his face hardening as his grief and anger threaten to consume him.
Kim Taehyung (past)
“Leave me alone, Jungkook.”
Jungkook doesn’t push. Instead, he watches, helpless, as Taehyung retreats further into himself. The silence between them stretches, filled with unspoken words and a painful distance.
The sun was beginning to set, casting an eerie orange glow over the military base. Taehyung, still reeling from the weight of his family's death, walked through the gates of base 17. His mind was a whirlwind of emotions. He had taken time off, but now, with his heart still heavy, he needed answers, he needed to confront those who had wronged his family.
The gate closed behind him with a faint clank as Taehyung approached the barracks. His face was grim, his footsteps purposeful. He needed to speak to Jimin, to understand what has happened, but first -he needed to face the reality that his brother was now a pariah.
Taehyung arrives at his old base, the place where he'd trained, where he had once been a respected officer. He steps into the mess hall, only to hear the snide comments and whispers gossip from the other officers.
Someone
Officer 1(laughing, but it was a mocking laugh): "Did you hear? The traitor's brother just showed up. I guess the apple doesn't fall from the tree."
Someone
Officer 2 (Snickers): "Yeah, his family is all in chaos. His brother was linked with terrorists and misused fund money meant for the camp. They're all rotten to the core."
Taehyung stops in his tracks, the words stabbing through him like daggers. His fists clench at his sides, his jaw tightening as the anger begins to rise. He can't just stand there and listen anymore.
Kim Taehyung (past)
(icy voice but shaking with fury): "What did you say?"
Someone
Officer 1 (mocking tone): "Oh, look who it is. The Captain's brother. Still defending your traitor of a brother? Pathetic."
The anger boils over. Taehyung's fist swings out, landing hard against the officer's jaw. The hall falls silent, everyone watching in shock as Taehyung's fury unfolds. Another officer steps up, trying to restrain him.
Someone
Officer 2 (grabs Taehyung's arm): "What's wrong with you? You think it's a joke? Your brother got caught with terrorists!"
Taehyung pulls free from the officer's grip, shoving him away with force. His heart races in his chest as his vision blurs with range.
Kim Taehyung (past)
(yelling, his voice raw with emotions): "YOU DON'T KNOW HIM. YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HIM!"
More officers gathered around, some trying to pull Taehyung away, others egging him on. The noise draws the attention of the higher ups, who march into the room.
Someone
Higher-up Officer (commanding, his voice firm and angry): "What's going on here?"
The officers step back, and Taehyung's breath is heavy, his chest heaving with frustration. He glares at the higher-up.
Kim Taehyung (past)
(with clenched teeth): "They were talking about my brother... About Yoongi... They were accusing him of things he won't do."
Someone
Higher-up Officer (shaking his head in disgust): "Yoongi's already been dealt with. You don't get to make excuses for him. He's been caught red-handed, working with terrorists. He misused the funds for his own benefit, and we have the evidence to prove it. He doesn't belong here."
Taehyung's eyes widen with disbelief. His world crashes down around him as the words hit him like a ton of bricks.
Kim Taehyung (past)
(quietly, his voice trembling with shock): "W-what are you saying? Yoongi... He didn't--"
Someone
Higher-up Officer (cutting him off): "The evidence is clear. You've been defending a criminal. And now, you're causing disturbance here. You're being dismissed from this base. You are not allowed to enter this base anymore."
Taehyung's heart sinks as they start pushing him out. He tries to argue, but the words die on his tongue. His mind races, trying to make sense of the devastation, but there's no answer. No explanation. He's been thrown out.
After a restless night of pacing, Taehyung still stands outside the base the next morning, determined. He's not going to let them have the final word. He waits and watches, his face expressionless but burning with the need for justice. Hours pass, the cold wind biting at his skin, but he stands firm.
On the fourth day, a soldier approaches him cautiously, clearly unsure about how to speak to Taehyung.
Someone
Soldier (softly, almost hesitant): "What are you still doing here? You can't stay here forever."
Kim Taehyung (past)
(his voice sharp, commanding): "Do you know officer Jimin? Lieutenant Park Jimin?"
Someone
Soldier (pauses, unsure, then nods) "Yes, Lieutenant Park Jimin. Why?"
Kim Taehyung (past)
(urgently, his voice low but intense): "Tell him I'm here. Tell him I need to talk to him."
Someone
Soldier (looking nervous, glancing around): "You don't know? Lieutenant Park Jimin is... He's in central jail. He's been there for over two months now."
Kim Taehyung (past)
(staring, confused and stunned): "What? How... What happened?"
Someone
(speaking in a lowered voice, barely above a whisper): "It's... It's said that he raped a girl. That's why he's in jail."
Taehyung's face pales, his mind struggling to process the shocking information. His heart skips a beat, disbelief flooding his chest.
Kim Taehyung (past)
(shouts, unable to keep his rahe in check): "THAT CAN'T BE TRUE!"
Someone
Soldier (panicked, trying to calm him down): "Sir, please! Keep your voice down! You need to control yourself!"
Taehyung breathes heavily, his fits clenched. The words echo in his mind, but the anger, confusion, and disbelief swirl around him like a storm.
Someone
Soldier (took out a small notebook, scribbling something down quickly, then handing it to Taehyung): "Sir, don't waste your time here by standing. You won't get anything here."
Taehyung watches the note in his hands that have shoved, and then looks up at the soldier. Who was quickly with silent steps walks with quick speed.
When finally the Soldier was out of his gaze, he looks down at the piece of paper in his hand. And reads;
"My name is Park Hyung-Sik. Meet me at this xxx location. I have something to share."
Taehyung's grip tightened on the note as he stared at it, his resolve hardening.
Kim Taehyung (past)
"Hyung, Jimin... I'll get to the truth. No matter what."
