Chapter 13
The golden scissors are heavy but not too heavy for me. Cutting the red ribbon signifies our official opening. Cameras flash, taking in the moment to remember and put in our scrapbooks. It is fascinating, I love it. Just smile. It's all they want. Everything will be perfect. Nothing can ruin my happy day. Afterwards we hold a press conference and answer questions people have. There’s quite a few but I am able to answer them all. One question in particular caught me off guard this is what it was, “Do you have a successor in mind in case of emergency.” I do not, yet.
I do not plan to have one for a while. I'm not even married yet. I don’t plan on getting married anytime soon, even though I have a boyfriend. I do not believe I will marry him. The conference ends, and I can barely feel a thing in my body. All I can feel Is strong hands wrap around my back and legs, lifting me in the air. Ace. “You shouldn’t walk, it will only cause you more pain.” He is starting to piss me off with how much he cares about me yet he knows little about me. “Don’t worry so much about me.” “You’re my girlfriend, I’m supposed to worry about you.”
“Go on another date with me later.” “Huh?! What if I don’t want to?” “Then, I’ll carry you to dinner.” Smart. “Fair point.” He takes me away, to place of our first date. I don’t know why but I feel so calm. Normally I feel aggravated by his innocent personality towards be but now, I don't. He is two faced, which I hate the most. “You know I hate you right?” “And why do you hate me?” “You're two faced. All innocent with me but cold hearted to others.” “and how do you know I am cold hearted, little princess?” “You know how people like to gossip. Plus I am a bit curious on why you had the bodyguard make sure i got home safely the night of our first date.”
“You wouldn’t let me send you home and plus we live in Chicago, which is one of the most dangerous cities in this country. I couldn’t let you go by yourself not knowing if you had made it home safe. I guess you could say it was love at first sight.” I can’t help but laugh. I never believed in the whole “Love at first sight” thing. But for some stupid reason he believes in it. “If this is love at first sight then we can’t be together. A relationship can not be based on such a childish belief.”
