Chapter 12

If only he had listened to me. Then we wouldn’t be having this argument. “You need to take of yourself.” I know but I don’t want to become an addict. “I need to go.” Attempting to stand is not that hard but yet I struggle. “You’re not going anywhere.” He shoves me back on the bed. At this moment I begin to feel a rush of fear surge my body. The uncontrollable shaking takes place in every part of my body. “If I don’t go, I may lose my carrier and everything I worked hard for.” He doesn’t care that I could lose everything.”Fine, go but if you get hurt then don’t expect me to come to your rescue.”  Pffft like I’ll need it. “Ok bye,” standing up I go and get changed into normal clothes. I watch him leave and then I leave.

The company is only a ten minute drive from where I am. I talk with my editor who is in the editing floor just a few floors below where my office is. “How are things looking for this next video?” “Everything is good to go for tomorrow.” “Okay email me the videos so I can review them and publish them.” “Yes ma’am.”  Everything is in place, now I must prepare for the opening ceremony that will be held tonight. Everyone who needs to be hired is already hired all that's left to do is to open up officially and start working on projects.

My assistant, Lean Adams helps me prepare for the ceremony. “After everything is ready please come with me and we can pick out an outfit together my treat for starting work early.” My editor, Quinn Flinch agrees. “If we get everything done quickly then we can have time to get ready,” he says. He stayed and helped with the decorations. “Thank you all for helping me, I appreciate it very much.” have no idea how much I appreciate them because words can’t describe my feelings towards them. “It wasn’t an issue Miss choi coming here to help a day before work really started.” Lean is always kind and always willing to help, that's what I like about her and why I picked her to be my assistant out of everyone who applied.

I give them a warm smile, “Lets go, and you all can call me Yumi.” Picking outfits was fun mainly because me and lean had Quinn judge since he was the only guy there. I got a black and white dress, white is the main color. Lean got a blue and white dress, while Quinn just got a tux. We’re only an hour away from the opening ceremony. We walked out, telling each other jokes and laughing at how cringy we really are. “Having fun I see.”  That voice is so familiar I can almost name who it is. Lean and Quinn look terrified. Ace hugs me, “Hello there.” He smiles. “Ace, this my assistant Lean, and my editor Quinn.” “nice to meet you all.” He shakes their hands and they are not terrified anymore.

“Well I should get going,” His lips graze my cheek. This throw me off along with the others.  “See you later my love~” Now he’s just trying to piss me off. “Yumi, is he your boyfriend or something like that?” Lean seems to be concerned for my well being.  “He’s my boyfriend.” There eyes give me weird looks. “Why him? I mean, he is one of the most feared men in the world. At least in the top ten.” I am surprised because he has only been mean to me a few times. “Odd he has only been mean to me a few times..” “I think  he really loves you!!!” I am taken back by their words, does he really love me? Yet, we know so little of each other. I didn’t even know that he was a feared man till seconds ago. I want to know more about him, he is so mysterious that I only hear of him from my friends. Even that gives me little information.

After preparing myself for the opening ceremony, I must review my notes for the speech I will give. This is so stressful. Everything must be perfect and I’m sitting here being imperfect worrying about what could go wrong, how pitiful. Sighing I prepare to get on stage. I will only appear before a hundred people and 10 cameras. It's not like I’m having a nervous breakdown or  anything like that. No, my emotions are a complete mess. I can’t calm down, at least not until I seem him. That's when I know that I am strong. “Hey cutie, you’re gonna ruin your makeup.” He cleans me up and walked me to the curtain in which I will pop out of. “Thank you ace.” I stand up straight and kiss his cheek. “Break a leg, not really though.”

He brightens me, I somehow feel I don’t need to know everything to love him because I already do. “Miss choi, we will do some final touch ups on your makeup before you go on stage, please try not to ruin it.” I hardly wear dress but this is a special occasion.  I mostly wear makeup when going out or doing something public so I am no rookie to keeping makeup on. I like wearing makeup it makes me feel pretty, and confident about myself.

“Hello everyone and welcome to the opening of Recording City, I am Honored to open this opening ceremony by introducing everyone to the Founder and Ceo, Yumi Choi.” That's my cue, stepping through the curtain I give the best warm welcoming smile and wave. “Everyone today we gather here to make a mark in history, one so big people generations after us will remember this day. I open this place for those with a dream that everyone said can’t come true.” Breathe. “I had a dream like no other. That what is criminal city will be turned around by one person.I wish to help those who have a similar dream like mine. Ones who may seem dumb and stupid but are really smart, their just too shy to show, Thatis why I made this company.” Claps and cheers fill my ears. I have started a great journey with many. Dreams will come true. I hear words that encourage me. “What  a bold lady! Her dream is sure to make the headlines.” “Finally someone is doing something about the prostitution.” I love hearing people happy.
