Chapter 10: The Blossoming Flower

He walks back out to his car. “I’ve never seen you this happy master Choi.” Bea hugs me . I giggle, “Everything is going to be okay.”  “This is wonderful news!” she gives me a warm smile. “You and Gunther can have the week off.” “Are you sure master Choi?!” I nod, they need the  break. It is well deserved. “Thank you!” I smile, “Call me Yumi both of you!” She runs off. Feeling happy I walk to the outside pool. Ace comes out in his trunks. His muscles pop at every edge. I can’t help but stare.  “Like what you see?” I feel my face heat quickly. “N-no!” I lie, and it is clear. I like him.

He wraps his strong arms around me, “Liar, you know it’s a sin to lie right?~” My feet come off the ground. “Yes I know it is but I won’t repent.” I grin widely. This is the most fun I’ve had in awhile. “Since you won’t repent you will be thrown into the water and face your sins.” He throws me in the water. The cold water hugs my body, touching everything it can.  I hear echos of Ace’s laughter.

I come out, pulling Ace in with me. “Not so fast pretty boy.”  He screams, he sounds like a little girl. I can’t help but laugh. He is too cute.  “You little-” I keep laughing, until he drags me under. We come up together and laugh it off. “So do normally do this kind of swimming.” “Not really, I do freestyle most the time.” Ace grins, thinking of the worst pun possible, “Isn’t this freestyle, cause your swimming the way you want to and in your own style.” I want to slap him, hard in the face. “You better be lucky I don’t slap you in the face right now.” He chuckles.

“I am grateful you didn’t.” I smile. “I guess we’re still dating then?”  He grins widely. He pulls me to his chest, lifting my chin up. I watch as his eyes fill with lust.  We lean our heads closer together. Our Lips touch, His soft like cotton. I don’t pull away I embrace it.  After a few seconds we both pull away for air. “Yes,” he says, his look is stern like he is extremely serious about being with me. My arms wrap loosely around his neck. “I like that.”  His arms wrap around me, hugging me. The water splashes us both. Joy can’t help but find it’s way into our lives at this moment. Smiles appear on our faces.

“Can we practice swimming now?” I say. He nods, “of course.” We both work on freestyle. I seem to be faster than him. I pull myself out of the water for a break. “Do you want anything to drink?”  He gets out using the ladder, like a lazy person. “Nah I’m good,” he lays his back across the pool deck. He looks out of it. I decide to get him some water anyways. We may be in the water but it is unhealthy to drink it because of the chemicals in it. “Here have this, you look exhausted.”  His face fills with even more exhaust as he sits up. “Thanks,” the corner of his mouth curves up a little. “Go lay down inside, you don’t want to get sick from the heat.” I help him up and lead him inside.

His body flops on the couch. We only practiced for a hour but seeing him makes it seem like it was all day. “Get some rest, you need it,” Kissing his forehead, I head back out. I need to finish my workout for  the day. Two more hours and I’m done. I ended up doing more than that. Hours more than what I intended. I don’t know how many hours went by before Ace came back outside. I felt myself get dizzy at the time. Objects go black, and everything else appeared to be fuzzy. The last thing I remember is Ace yelling my name and diving in the water. I’m surrounded by flowers of all kinds, a colorful field. No sign of life except these flowers. I lay in them, this all is like a dream. It’s so perfect I don’t have any worries. I don’t want to leave. I can’t leave. I don’t want to leave anyways. It’s too peaceful.

“Yumi,Yumi, wake up.” For some reason Ace now stands before me coming out of nowhere. “Why should I? It's so peaceful here.” He continues saying my name. I ignore him and notice my sister playing in the flowers “with Dae-eun. I can’t help but run to her. I trample over something, leaving me to find myself in the bed with Ace standing over me. “Yumi!!!” two arms wrap around me and pull me close to where they come from, Ace. “what happened?” I hardly remember anything after swimming for probably hours with no end. “You passed out. I had a doctor come and look at you and he said it was from overworking. That was 2 days ago..” Have I been in a dream for two to three days? I can hardly move, my body is so numb.

“I-I can’t move..” I look at Ace not knowing what to do. His arm wraps across my back, his arm raises me with ease. Its like I'm a feather to him. With a numb body I can’t do a thing. I can’t even feel my fingers. “The doctor said depending on how long it would take for you to wake up depended on how long it would take to recover.” Dark circles have formed underneath his eyes. Did he get any sleep in the past few days. His eyes and cheeks are red, like he’s been crying. “Ace, get some sleep. I am perfectly fine.” Lying is the greatest sin known to man, and I just committed that sin.  “No, you’re not fine at all. You really scared me you know that? You stayed in the water for more than four hours. I came out just as you passed out and I wasn’t about to take you to hospital while you were in your bathing suit. Nor was I gonna remove your clothes to put you in proper clothes.” I guess nothing interesting happened while I was gone. “Thank you Ace. I owe you one.” He smiles, “It’s ok blossoming flower.”
