 Chapter 17

 Ace presses his lips against my forehead. “It’s going to be okay, my love.” He whispers in my ear. Relief crashes over me like a tidal wave. His words seem like I’m the one dying and he’s telling me I'm not going to die. His reassuring words could calm oceans. “Why don’t you all have a seat?” Ace pulls the chair out for me, helping me get comfortable. Mia sets some water on the table.

“Here, have a sip.” The cold water washed my feelings down inside, somewhere it would take a while to bring back up. “Thanks Mia. I feel much better.” Ace’s hands hold firmly onto mine. The heat from his hands warms me. “So what’s been going on with you Yumi?” “Well I met this teddy bear,” I say looking at ace. “Love is powerful, beautiful and amazing, don’t ever let go of it.” Mia said to us. “Yes I agree, love shouldn’t be wasted like we waste time.” Ace looks at me and smiles.

I never knew what it was like to feel love towards someone. My feelings for Ace are indescribable. I have never felt this way towards anyone in my entire life. I can’t help but lean in and kiss him. Mia walks away to give us some space. After a minute I pull back from the sensational feeling.  “Ace… I think I’m in love with you. I have never felt this way towards anyone. I may try and push you away but that's just me denying love because love is what breaks me.” His hand gently holds mine. After a good meal I head back to my office with Ace. “I guess this is where we part ways.” He stopped in front of the company. “Yeah I guess so,” I felt my cheeks heat up.

He kisses my forehead. “Don’t work yourself too hard. I’ll come get you at noon for lunch.” I can’t help but smile and nod. Heading inside and back to my office. I calm myself down and focus on my work. Letting out a sigh, I stay busy till noon. By noon half of my work is done, I’ll probably work over today. “Miss Choi, Mister Ace has arrived to join you for lunch.” Thanks,” standing up suddenly numbness runs through my legs causing me to fall back into my chair. “Miss Choi!! Are you alright??” My secretary rushed to my side to help me. “I’m fine I think I sat for too long.” Standing back on my feet, everything feels fine. Lean Adams, she is 5 '1 but she wears one inch heels to make her taller. Her blonde curls float halfway down her back. “Do you want me to get the doctor?” I shake her off.

She has big blue caring eyes, part of the reason why I hired her. “I should be fine, as I said it should be from sitting  for too long. It won’t happen again if I walk around for a bit.” Lean walks back to her desk and gets her lunch. Ace waits for me at the elevator. “Work too hard?” Ace is rather tall for a grown man, almost 7 feet tall. “Haha, I’m only halfway done with the work I have.” He grabs my hand and pulls me into the elevator. “I told you not to work too hard.”

To be honest it is rather funny how our romance started. We met on a sidewalk, both of us a total mess. Now that I look back I’m glad we met. Even if I was a total mess when we met. “I can’t help it, with the company just starting and everything that’s been going on. I’m lucky I don’t have anymore work to do.”  He chuckles slightly. “Guess I’m lucky to even have lunch with you then huh?” I can’t help but smile, “Yeah.” This warm filming makes me feel the happiest ever. I only get this feeling when around Ace. “Where are we going for lunch?” I look at him and smile. “Is it a surprise?” “Yup,” his smile warmed my body.

We walk outside and down a few blocks. Soon the sound of guns going off rings in my ears. I have no idea what is going on, I duck and cover. Running into an alleyway I find other civilians hiding their for safety. It doesn’t take me long to realize Ace is no longer at my side. I look around to find him nowhere nearby. “Ace?!” my hands shake so hard and uncontrollably, I nearly faint.One of the civilians hiding with me is a doctor and immediately rushes to my aid. “Miss, please try and calm down.”  “I can’t! My boyfriend is missing, and I just realized this morning how much I really love and need him.”
