Episode # 16
On the couch in her apartment, Liv sat with her hand resting gently on her stomach.
She thought about Kai. There was something about the way he had been around her lately that didn't sit right, and she couldn't quite figure out why.
She frowned, wondering what was going on in his mind.
Liv Zara (FL)
What's all this about, Kai?
She muttered to herself, her fingers tracing the curve of her belly as she thought about him.
Kai sat at the small table in the dimly lit restaurant, his gaze fixed on Larissa as she ate her meal.
The clink of utensils echoed between them, but he didn't touch his own plate.
Larissa looked up, noticing the untouched food. With a light smile, she asked.
Larissa (ML's ex-girlfriend/Iris's mom)
Why aren't you eating?
Kai's eyes narrowed, his voice cold.
Kai Thompson (ML)
Is my father behind this?
Larissa shook her head, her expression softening.
Larissa (ML's ex-girlfriend/Iris's mom)
No, I haven't seen him since we broke up.
He didn't respond right away, then asked seriously.
Kai Thompson (ML)
Then why did you call me here?
Larissa smile faded as she looked at him.
Larissa (ML's ex-girlfriend/Iris's mom)
You still haven't changed, have you? Always so cold.
Kai leaned back in his chair, his tone blunt.
Kai Thompson (ML)
Seriously. Why did you want to meet?
Larissa sighed, meeting his gaze.
Larissa (ML's ex-girlfriend/Iris's mom)
I just wanted to tell you... I'm going back to Colombia. I'm leaving New York.
Kai's eyes darkened, and he replied in a flat voice.
Kai Thompson (ML)
I don't think this meeting was meant for me. It should be your son Iris sitting here, telling him that...not me. I have somewhere to go.
Without another word, Kai stood up and turned aways, his footsteps echoing in the quiet restaurant.
Larissa sat alone, the smile she had worn now gone, the weight of his cold departure settling in.
Liv opened the door, expecting a simple greeting from his mother and sister who haven't come home yet.
Surprised to see Kai standing there. Before she could say anything, he stepped forward, leaning in quickly, and without a warning, pressed his lips against hers.
The kiss was intense, his hands cupped her face as he deepened it.
His tongue gently parted her lips, exploring as he pulled her closer, his body almost pressing against hers.
Just as things seemed to heat up, Kai felt a nudge from her belly, a soft movement from the baby.
Kai pulled back, his gaze shifting down her stomach.
Kai Thompson (ML)
Do you think the baby like that?
He asked, a hint of a smile on his lips.
Liv, still in shock, trying to process the sudden kiss.
she looked at him. Kai chuckled, noticing her expression.
Kai Thompson (ML)
What's wrong ?
Liv Zara (FL)
I don't know. I should ask you.
She replied, her voice trembling.
Realizing he might have crossed a line, Kai rubbed the back of his neck, stepping back.
Liv Zara (FL)
I hope it's not what I'm thinking.
He looked at her, curious.
Kai Thompson (ML)
What if it is?
Liv Zara (FL)
I'm not in the right situation then.
Kai frowned, trying to understand.
Kai Thompson (ML)
Why? Is it because of the baby, or...is it about the father of the baby?
Liv hesitated, looking down for a moment.
Liv Zara (FL)
I don't know who the father of my baby is.
she admitted, a hint of sadness in her voice.
Kai stared at her, shocked and confused. The silence between them grew heavy, and Liv felt a pang of sadness wash over her as she faced the truth of her situation.
Kai stood there, speechless, trying to process everything. The warmth that he had filled for the moment seemed to vanish. Wondering if Liv was the woman he thought she was.
He had always considered a woman being pregnant without knowing the father, a huge red flag to him.
