Episode # 10
The morning light peeked through the window, casting a soft glow on the room.
Liv standing by the window...
...rubbed her back as she winced. She looked a bit exhausted.
Mia walked in, fully dressed for school, and paused when she saw her.
Mia Zara (FL's sister)
Hey, sis, are you okay?
She asked, concern in her eyes.
Liv sighed and turned to her.
Liv Zara (FL)
Yeah, I'm fine...just my back hurts. I'm supposed to go to work, but I don't know if I can.
Mia Zara (FL's sister)
You should tell them you're not feeling well.
Liv hesitated, then spoke softly.
Liv Zara (FL)
I should, but... I don't want to make it worse. I have to keep going.
Mia stepped closer, looking her in the eye.
Mia Zara (FL's sister)
I'm glad you're not planning to get rid of that baby.
Liv looked down, a sadness in her voice.
Liv Zara (FL)
I don't know if I made a good choice. If things don't get better...I might have no choice but to let go of the baby.
Mia shook her head quickly.
Mia Zara (FL's sister)
No, don't think like that. You can do this! I believe in you, you'll get through this with the baby. Don't ever think about that, okay?
Liv smiled softly, her eyes glistening with unshed tears.
Liv Zara (FL)
I'm trying... it's just hard sometimes.
Mia Zara (FL's sister)
You're so strong. Remember when you helped me get this scholarship? If you could do that, I know you'll survive this. I'll help you, sis. We'll do this together.
Liv's smile grew a little more.
Liv Zara (FL)
Thanks... I'm lucky to have you.
Just then, their mother peeked through the door, her eyes full of emotion as she watched her daughters, the bond between them so clear.
Lena Zara ( FL and Mia's mom)
Everything okay in here?
She asked, her voice shaky with tears of pride.
The sisters exchanged a glance, then nodded.
Mia Zara (FL's sister)
We've got this.
Mia said. Their mother just proudly smiled at them.
Kai, stood near the entrance, watching his employees line up for the daily check-up.
The air was crisp, and the workers were half awake, barely able to hide their tiredness.
Kai moved slowly down the line, checking each worker with a sharp, critical gaze.
Everything had to run perfectly under his watch.
But as he moved closer to the last employee, his eye narrowed.
Kai Thompson (ML)
Where's the new pregnant girl?
He asked, his voice cold.
Manager Lisa, standing to the side, forced a smile but could feel the tension rise in her chest.
Lisa Joseph (The manager)
Sir, her name is Liv.
Kai Thompson (ML)
I don't care what her name is.
Kai snapped, cutting her off.
Kai Thompson (ML)
I don't remember giving anyone a day off.
Lisa hesitated, trying to gather her words.
Lisa Joseph (The manager)
Sir, remember, she's pregnant...
Kai Thompson (ML)
I don't care.
He interrupted again, his tone sharp.
Kai Thompson (ML)
She needs to be here to work. Call her now.
Lisa nodded quickly, her smile gone now, replaced by a look of discomfort.
Lisa Joseph (The manager)
Yes, sir.
Kai turned on his heel and walked away, his steps echoing in the quiet morning.
The workers began to murmur among themselves.
A worker ¹
Isn't it too early for the CEO to be here?
A worker²
Yeah, and checking us like this... something's off today.
But no one dared to speak too loudly. They all knew the rules.
