Kai stood beside Liv in the hospital room, his hand gently holding hers.
Her grip tightened, her face pale with fear.
Liv Zara (FL)
Please don't leave me.
She whispered, her voice shaky.
Kai looked down at her closely, his face softening.
Kai Thompson (ML)
I'm not leaving.
Kai Thompson (ML)
I'm here, okay?
Liv nodded, her eyes closed as she tried to calm herself.
The doctor finished checking her over and looked up at them.
Yosef Karen (The doctor)
Who's Kai? Are you the father?
Liv, still weak, barely managed to shake her head.
Liv Zara (FL)
No... he's not the father.
The doctor's expression remained neutral.
Yosef Karen (The doctor)
We need the father here to know more with her medical condition.
Kai Thompson (ML)
Can you just tell us what's wrong with her, Doctor? We don't have time for this.
The doctor nodded, taking a deep breath.
Yosef Karen (The doctor)
She's suffering from mild placental abruption, which is caused by stress and overworking.

The placenta has partially detached from the uterus. It can cause bleeding, and I'd dangerous for both the mother and baby, but since this is mild, she should be able to carry the pregnancy to term with proper care.

She needs to follow the medical advice, have regular checkups, and avoiding overworking herself.
Kai Thompson (ML)
Can you explain more? What do we need to do?
The doctor gave him a serious face.
Yosef Karen (The doctor)
she'll need to rest, take things slow, and follow all prenatal instructions. As long as she stays calm and follows the guidelines, she should be okay. No overworking. That's important.
With that,the doctor left.
Liv slowly started to pull her hand away from Kai's, feeling awkward. But Kai, without thinking, gripping her hand tighter.
Kai Thompson (ML)
If holding my hand makes you feel safe don't let go.
Liv without a word slightly nodded in agreement but her eyes kept avoiding his gaze.
While, Liv was already sleeping. Kai sat at the edge of her bed, looking around at pictures on the wall.
His gaze stopped on one, a photo of Liv with her mother and sister, but the side of it was torn.
It didn't take long for him to realize her father had once been part of that picture.
He slowly moved closer to her bed, his fingers hovering just above her peaceful face.
For a moment, he hesitated, unsure of what to do. His thoughts were interrupted when the door opened quietly.
Liv's mother stepped into the room, her tired eyes softening when she saw Kai.
Lena Zara ( FL and Mia's mom)
Thank you, sir, for being there for my child.
Kai nodded, giving her a small, reassuring smile.
Kai Thompson (ML)
It's nothing. I'm just glad she's safe.
Then he looked at her, seriously.
Kai Thompson (ML)
Where's the father of her child?
Liv's mother froze, her expression faltering for a moment. Before she could answer, Mia walked in.
She forced a smile and spoke quickly.
Mia Zara (FL's sister)
Mom, are you really sure you want him to stay for the night?
Her mother turned to Mia, saying.
Lena Zara ( FL and Mia's mom)
Yes, it's very dark out there. He can't be driving at this hour.
Kai, noticing the hesitation in the room, spoke up.
Kai Thompson (ML)
Can I sleep in her room tonight? Her couch? You both look exhausted.
Mia's eyes narrowed slightly, but she glanced at her mother, who then nodded, though she seemed a little unsure.
Lena Zara ( FL and Mia's mom)
Sir, I think it's too much. You've already done so much... getting her to the hospital and bringing her back.
Kai Thompson (ML)
She needs someone here. It's least I can do. You guys rest.
Mia sighed but then looked to her mother, she gave a small nod like she's asking for her opinion.
Mia Zara (FL's sister)
Alright. Let him stay.
Once Mia and her mother left the room, Kai sat down in the chair beside the bed.
His phone rang in his pocket, he checked the screen. It was Pamela.
