One thing that irritated Kate was when James tried to interfere in her professional life. She didn't understand why all of a sudden he became so bothered by the residency she was doing at Santa Maria Hospital.

As a matter of fact, she knew why. This started happening after he met Edward, the hospital's chief surgeon, with whom Kate has a brotherly relationship.

She didn't believe that James was acting this way out of jealousy, but out of spite. To her, he was a spoiled playboy who saw her as a toy that no one could touch.

Kate didn't believe there was love in that marriage, since the only times they talked or interacted was when they were in bed.

She thought that James, a billionaire, owner of one of the most famous sports car brands, famous and handsome, would never assume his relationship with an orphan medical student.

That's right, despite being married for three years, few people knew about this marriage. James continued to appear in gossip pages as a bachelor surrounded by women eager to get his attention.

And while he was out partying, Kate was at the hospital, taking care of patients.

James had no choice but to refuse, as his mother owned half the shares in the car factory and she blackmailed him, saying that if he didn't marry Kate, she would donate her shares to charity.

Kate accepted because she had developed an unusual regard for Sara, almost an emotional dependence, and she knew that Sara's days were numbered, so she thought this marriage wouldn't last long.

However, it lasted three long years, three long years that Sara struggled to stay alive, all because she had hopes of seeing Kate pregnant.

Sara convinced Kate to try to have a child without James knowing because she knew he had been adamant about not fulfilling a deathbed wish of a mother and Kate agreed to this idea.

It was Kate's dream to have a child and give him what she never had. She already had plans for independent production, so Sara's plan matched her ideas. If the child's father didn't want the baby, she would take care of it as she had already planned.

And so, for three years Kate has been trying to get pregnant, it was not difficult to move things forward with James and that's why she considered him a womanizer. How could a man who seems to hate her, attack her on the first attempt at seduction? He was worthless, according to Kate. But she wasn't that tough, her heart was full of need for love and it didn't take long to end up falling in love with James.

Because of this feeling, after leaving the house and standing on the avenue, waiting for the traffic light to turn green, Kate felt her chest tighten.

A strong regret came over her. She was left thinking about the words she said. It's not true that she doesn't care what he does outside the house, especially at parties, every time she sees pictures of him surrounded by women, she dies of jealousy.

Yes, he's not really her husband, but he could be. She wondered if they shouldn't have a real conversation, about feelings and about their future. A conversation about the possibility of making this relationship real, after Sara was gone.

Kate looked at herself in the car's rearview mirror and thought that she was always wearing scrubs, her nails were always trimmed, and her face was clean. She didn't wear makeup or provocative clothes like the women who approached James, but she knew she was an attractive woman, he even showed it when he couldn't resist throwing her into bed whenever he saw her.

Kate thought that maybe the problem with him assuming her was her social status, because she was apparently a scholarship orphan. However, this is the version of the story that she told everyone, she was really an orphan, but her financial and social status was much higher than everyone thought.

With that thought, Kate decided not to go to the hospital. She returned to the Weyland mansion quickly. She hoped to find James still in bed and continue what they were doing.

It's been three years of this marriage and she thought that maybe there was some feeling on his part.
