Ravier was completely outraged by the things his father said to him and everyone's insistence that he had another woman in his life, as that couldn't be further from the truth.
What bothered him most was the fact that his father knew about his problem, but he didn't even try to understand what was going on in his head. He pretended that the fact that Ravier was in love in his youth never existed.
Gael entered the room cautiously, as he had some papers that needed Ravier's signature.
"Excuse me, Mr. Valente, I have some papers that need your signature."
"Bring them here."
Gael went to the table and left them there. As he was about to leave, Ravier said:
"I didn't know you were a faggot."
Gael's eyes widened; he didn't know what to do with such a prejudiced phrase coming from Ravier; in fact, he thought he had misheard.
"Sorry? I don't think I understood what you said."
"You understood perfectly well, don't think that because of what you made me do yesterday you're going to get any preferential treatment here in the company. And if you tell anyone, prepare to die."
The way Ravier said those words, Gael understood that he wasn't kidding. If it were another situation, he would show Ravier that he was the biggest faggot in this story, however, he needed the job, swallowed his pride and just said:
"Don't worry, what happened yesterday is something I don't even want to remember, let alone tell anyone."
Ravier got even angrier, what was he trying to say with that? That he wasn't good enough for a simple poor employee like Gael?
There arose an anger that he couldn't control, just as his organ couldn't remain inert in Gael's presence.
The day was hectic, so he decided to leave. However, when he left the room he found Gael once again, he went to Mr. Valente and said:
"That businessman from Paris called and said he was passing through town and wants a meeting with you right now."
"I already said that I don't want any surprise meetings."
"I know, but he insisted a lot."
Gael is always very polite and that often irritates Ravier, mainly because he considers it a feminine trait.
"Be a man and tell him not today, if he wants, fit him into a time tomorrow."
The phrase "be a man" did not go unnoticed by Gael, he understood the real reason why Ravier treated him badly, it was his sexuality, what he cannot understand is why this macho man kissed him.
"Understood, Mr. Valente."
The other employees stopped to watch Gael being humiliated and some who were quite snobbish saw an opportunity to belittle him further. Many were irritated by Gael's efficiency, who arrived on time. Besides the fact that he could leave every time his mother needed a consultation.
Nothing goes unnoticed by the gossiping employees of Majestic.
After Ravier left, some stayed behind to laugh at Gael and made no effort to hide it from him.
One of his co-workers approached him and said:
"I hope that next time you'll remember that your boss is Mr. Valente and not just anyone who calls wanting a meeting."
"And who are you to tell me that?"
"Just trying to help, but you're very presumptuous, aren't you?"
"I don't need your help."
Since Gael didn't lower his head, he earned the dislike of more colleagues, even without him knowing it.
At lunchtime, he usually sits at any table in the cafeteria, always talking to several different people, some friendly and some not so much. But now, when he entered the cafeteria, everyone stared at him. Not to mention that he noticed some people whispering and looking at him.
This is all Ravier Valente's fault, it was what he put in his heart. And, if all these hypocrites knew that their boss kissed him voluntarily, what would they say?
He took his meal and sat down at a table in the corner, where there was no one.
But, like in a teenage movie, of course they wouldn't leave him alone, Eduardo from the finance department came up to him and said:
"Didn't Mr. Valente kick you out yet, faggot?"
Gael narrowed his eyes, he has lived with that nickname for a long time, since elementary school. It irritates him, not because he denies his sexuality, but because it is pejorative, he understands that he should not be ashamed of what he feels.
"Ah! He did, and he told me to take you with me."
There was collective laughter from everyone who heard Gael's response, however, that doesn't mean that none of them would be on his side.
Furious, Eduardo continued:
"Don't you even have the decency to deny it?"
"I'm very decent, proof is that I'm living my life and not bothering those who live what I don't have the courage to live."
Gael was experienced enough to know that most of these bullies always have something unresolved in their sexuality. But, it also serves to scare away the idiots.
Like all bullies, who intimidate others, when the argument is over, they resort to violence and that's what Eduardo did, he punched Gael squarely in the face.
Gael wasn't small, but it was very unexpected, and Eduardo was a brute. He blacked out on impact.
There was a general "Ohhh" from the onlookers. After Gael fell, one of the ladies in the cafeteria called one of the building's security guards, she had a great fondness for him, as Gael was one of the few who was nice to her. The other employees there looked at them as if she were someone of lesser value.
When the security guards arrived, they helped Gael and others took Eduardo to the security room, until they decided what to do with him.
