The day was so exhausting that Ravier didn’t even have time to be in a bad mood. That was a relief to Gael, he’d rather be dead tired like now than oppressed by Ravier’s mood.
All the employees had already left when Gael finished his work, it was a report on the last meeting with a giant retail company.
When he got up to leave, Ravier also left the room, they both went towards the elevator and while Ravier entered calmly, Gael stood at the door.
He didn’t want to irritate his boss, so he didn’t know what Ravier’s reaction would be.
The latter just looked at him and said:
“Come in.”
Gael then quickly entered and stood as far away from Ravier as he could, which was practically impossible in that metal box.
He didn't need to press the button for the ground floor, as Ravier had already done so. The elevator doors closed and the air grew even heavier there.
Abruptly the elevator went dark and banged, after which it stood still, as if dead.
Gael was terrified and started pressing the buttons, however, none of them worked and he kept pressing them.
Ravier snorted and, holding his hand, said:
"Stop that immediately."
Feeling Ravier’s touch, Gael became even more frightened and pulled his hand away as if his touch burned.
"I don't like enclosed spaces."
Ravier said nothing, just stared at Gael under the emergency light. He looked like a fish trying to breathe.
“Stop that, you’re taking all the air for yourself.”
"I feel sick, I think I'm going to die."
Ravier rolled his eyes, but something crossed his mind, the affected way Gael said that sentence... It was the first time he had seen a trace of femininity in his assistant's actions.
Worst of all? His masculinity reacted immediately and he thanked heavens that the emergency light wouldn't betray him.
“Stop that, or I will...”
“Will you kill me, Mr. Valente? Please, do it now, I can’t stand it anymore.”
Gael didn’t mind throwing a tantrum, he just wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible.
“I told you to stop that.”
As Gael didn’t seem to hear him, Ravier grabbed him by the collar and pressed him against the wall.
“I said stop.”
Gael held his breath, he had never been so close to Ravier and was mesmerized by those dark eyes.
“I’m sorry, I suppose I’m claustrophobic.”
“Just breathe and this will pass soon.”
Ravier let go of Gael, or he wouldn’t answer for his actions, he could do anything… even kiss him.
“How are we going to get out of here?”
“We have to wait, someone will come.”
"How can you be so sure?"
“You are not professional, how can you speak so casually with your boss?”
“I’m sorry, Mr. Valente, I’m just beside myself.”
“They will come, as it is protocol, there are sensors that indicate when something is wrong.”
“I hope you’re right because I don’t want to spend the night here.”
“Besides your claustrophobia, is there anything else bothering you?”
“No… There is nothing.”
Smiling sideways, Ravier said to Gael.
"You are a very bad liar."
“I’m not lying.”
He hovered over Gael and said:
“Are you sure?”
Gael’s breath hitched, Ravier exuded a masculinity that drew him in. He looked at the latter’s mouth and bit his own lip in an unconscious gesture.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Admit it and I’ll give you what you want.”
Gael wanted those words to mean what his mind thought, but he knew they didn’t.
“I just… want to get out of here.”
“If you can’t put hypocrisy aside, I will show you what you want.”
Before either of them could believe what was happening, Ravier’s mouth reached Gael’s.
At first, Gael stood still, he didn’t even know if his soul was still in his body, the next second, he was responding to Ravier’s touch.
It was a voracious kiss, there was a need there that they had both been trying to deny for a while.
Gael was already completely surrendered, his mind turned to mush and there wasn’t a cell in his body that wanted to resist.
Ravier couldn’t believe it, he was kissing a man and what he was feeling was something he had never experienced. For the first time, he felt that this wasn’t just a mechanical act.
But, it brought fear, frustration and he felt like he was letting his family down. So when the elevator suddenly started working, he pulled away and as soon as the door opened he left without a word.
Gael was stunned, he never imagined that the great alpha male Ravier Valente could kiss another man, let alone him.
He only snapped out of his trance when the elevator doors closed and he only had time to see Ravier’s car speeding away. At that point, Gael didn’t trust himself to tell if it had all been real or not.
He watched Ravier's car speed away and followed on foot in the same direction, only because it was the way out, he didn't have a car, so he had to walk all the way.
When he arrived in front of the building he ordered an app car and it wasn't long before he was home, it was already past ten and his mother was sleeping on the sofa, she had definitely fallen asleep there waiting for him.
He took Dona Iris in his arms and carried her to her room, when he laid her on the bed she woke up.
"Honey, you got here so late."
“I had to work overtime today, Mom.”
“You shouldn’t work so much.”
"Don't worry, I'll be home earlier tomorrow."
Dona Iris closed her eyes and Gael went to take a shower, he couldn't think about eating anything, his mind was still stuck on the moment of that kiss.
