The director, staff...everyone is there.
Liz: Thank you so much, Madalena. I loved the surprise.
Madalena: You deserve it, Liz. You are such a good
(Director) girl and you deserve all our affection.
Carla: Congratulations, my dear. May God bless you always.
(Cook)
Liz: Thanks, everyone. I love you guys.
The children approach Liz and inquire about the bags.
Debora: What's in here, auntie?
Caio: Did you bring a present?
Luiz: Can we play, auntie?
Lua: Auntie, did you bring a doll?
Liz: Easy, my loves. Yes, I brought presents for all of you – dolls, toy cars, trains, little horses...
All the children scream with joy and rush to Liz to get their gifts. As Liz has taught them, they line up and she hands out a present to each one. Enzo stands aside, watching everything. Paralyzed at the sight, overwhelmed and feeling choked up, he leaves the room and walks to his car. Once in the car, he pounds the steering wheel in fury until he calms down, staring blankly and controlling his breathing.
He is stubborn, unsure if the scene was genuine or an act. In his mind, she could be doing this for good publicity, as he still refuses to accept that he was wrong.
Enzo leaves and heads for the company, while Liz spends the day at the orphanage and returns home two hours later.
She goes to her room, takes a shower, dresses in a shorts and blouse combo, and heads to the living room.
Cecilia: Home early today?
Liz: Yeah, Ceci, I'm just so bored, haha.
Cecilia: How about we bake a cake?
Liz: Great idea! Let's do it.
Liz gets up excitedly and heads to the kitchen with Cecilia. Cecilia, an elderly woman at 59, has been living with Enzo since his birth.
The two head to the kitchen, and Liz starts playing music on her phone as they begin baking. Enzo arrives and hears laughter coming from the kitchen. He silently approaches and sees Liz dancing and singing with a spoon in her mouth as her makeshift microphone, while Cecilia mixes the cake batter in the mixer, both enjoying themselves. Enzo leaves with a heavy heart and retreats to his office.
All his thoughts are on Liz and the turmoil he's created. He struggles to believe that Liz is truly innocent and kind-hearted, as the character of a calculating, cynical, vulgar, dishonest girl causes confusion, insisting in his mind that it's all an act to gain attention and appear as the good girl.
His thoughts are interrupted by Cecilia knocking on his door. He tells her to come in and turns his attention back to her.
Cecilia: Do you need anything, sir?
Enzo: No, Cecilia. What time did Liz come home?
Cecilia: Around two in the afternoon.
Enzo: Okay.
Enzo leaves the office and overhears a conversation between Liz and Cecilia.
Liz: What to do now, Cecilia? I just don't know what to do in this house.
Cecilia: Go for a walk in the garden, dear. There's the pool, the home theater...
Liz: I don't want to just sit around. This house is so big I get lost.
Enzo: The house is yours, Liz. You can do whatever you want.
With that, he returns to his office. Liz, shocked that he'd overheard and answered, gets an idea and goes to the office.
She knocks on the door and waits for Enzo to respond. A few moments later, he tells her to enter.
Liz: Sir, I'm sorry to disturb you.
Enzo: What is it?
Liz is startled by his rough, expressionless tone but gathers her courage to make a request.
Liz: Would you allow Cecilia to go with me to the mall?
He thinks for a few minutes and then replies.
Enzo: Why do you need her?
Liz: I need to shop for a few things and could use her opinion, as I have no one else to go with.
Enzo: Fine, ask my driver to take you.
Liz: Thank you, sir.
Enzo notices Liz's happy face and feels a warmth in his chest.
