Episode 10

Tired, Liz went home early and arrived at 4 pm. In the evening, she had her meal with Enzo and neither of them spoke during dinner. After dinner, they each retired and went to sleep.

One week later...

The next day, Liz woke up, had her coffee, and left for work. Enzo had already left. Liz didn't realize that someone was following her every move. For the entire week, a man followed her every step.

As usual, Liz went to work, visited her mother, and went to the orphanage. She did her usual activities. Enzo didn't speak to the detective all week and waited anxiously. It was in the morning when the detective contacted him.

Detective: Mr. Enzo, I have everything you need. Can I come over today? I will be busy for the entire week.

Enzo: I will be waiting.

Liz had a busy day because the coffee shop was crowded. At lunchtime, she went to a park and had a sandwich. After thirty minutes, she returned to work. Liz always ate like this, sandwiches and juice. Sometimes she wouldn't even eat, just worked and did her social work. Liz was a woman who always thought of others first, and then herself. If people didn't know her because of her father's business, they would say she was poor, but she was a woman who had everything in life. That's why she thought of those who had nothing.

After work, Liz went to the hospital to visit sick children. Liz liked to visit the children to show them that they are not alone and that everything will be alright. She told stories, talked, kept them company, and played with them. As she was leaving the hospital, Liz received a phone call.

Liz: Hello, who is this?

Mikaela: It's me, Mikaela!

Mikaela is Liz's best friend. They have known each other since childhood, but Mikaela moved away two years ago and Liz hadn't seen her since.

Mikaela: Where are you, girl? I really want to see you. I miss you so much.

Liz: I'm in front of our favorite cafe.

Mikaela: Wait for me there, I'm coming.

Mikaela was a little crazy, but Liz loved her friend. Liz entered the cafe, chose a table in a quiet spot, and soon a friendly waitress came by.

Waitress: What would you like?

Liz: A juice, please.

A middle-aged man in a suit entered. He stared at Liz for a while and sat down right behind her table. Mikaela arrived, and Liz couldn't contain herself, rushing to hug her. It had been a long time without seeing each other, and it filled Liz's heart with joy. They sat down, and Mikaela ordered a coffee.

Liz: How did you find me?

Mikaela: I went to your house. You were the first person I wanted to see when I arrived here. Aunt Luciana gave me your number.

Liz: But what about you? When did you come back to town?

Mikaela: I finished my studies and decided to come back to see family, friends, and find a job here. Aunt Luciana said you got married. I want to know everything! Who was the lucky one to win your heart?

Liz: That's a story I will tell you another time. Now I need to go home, but we'll keep in touch. Let's plan something for the weekend, what do you think?

Mikaela: Great! I can't wait because I miss you so much.

They said their goodbyes, and Liz went home. She didn't even have dinner, took a shower, and fell asleep. Enzo, with his glass of whiskey, sat in the office for hours. He was anxious to talk to the detective.
