Episode 17

Liz headed to the cafe and, after speaking with her boss, began her work for the day, which unfolded without incident. Opting not to visit the orphanage today, she decided to go home and rest her mind instead.

At day's end, Liz went straight home, and upon arrival, retreated to her room for a soothing bath. Afterward, she lay down and dozed off.

Into the night, Liz was awakened by the ringing of her phone…

📲Liz: Hi, friend.

📲Mikaela: Hey, sweetie, shall we meet at our favorite eatery?

📲Liz: Certainly, I'll get ready.

📲Mikaela: Okay, see you soon.

📲 Liz: Alright.

Liz, with a hint of lethargy, arose and started getting ready, trying on multiple outfits before realizing a shopping trip was overdue.

She slipped into a long-sleeved dress in case the evening turned cool, stepped into her flats, and styled her hair. On her face, she applied only a touch of powder and blush for some color.

Enzo was lounging on the sofa, absorbed in his phone, as Liz descended the stairs. She glanced at him, saying,

Liz: Sir, my best friend is in town, and I'm stepping out to meet her. See you later!

He remained quiet, but as Liz approached the door, he spoke up.

Enzo: The driver will take you.

Liz: Thank you.

The driver conveyed Liz to the restaurant where Mikaela was already waiting. They greeted each other enthusiastically and placed their orders.

Without delay, Enzo followed Liz; he was curious whether she was indeed truthful. Engrossed in conversation, Liz did not notice Enzo’s watchful eyes.

The restaurant was Enzo's property. Upon seeing him, the manager approached.

Juliana: Good evening, Mr. Enzo, are you here to check everything's in order?

Enzo: No, Juliana, not for that. Send the report to my company. You see those two girls at the corner table?

Juliana: Yes, sir, what about them?

Enzo: Their consumption is on me, and please, add an extra dessert.

Juliana: But sir…

Enzo: No buts!

Enzo continued to observe Liz and her friend as they enjoyed their dinner, then dessert. As instructed, the waiter brought an additional indulgence and Liz and Mikaela's faces lit up with smiles.

The pair later stood and joined the onsite karaoke, with Liz singing a soft, romantic tune. Enzo was mesmerized by her smile and her voice, spellbound by Liz’s charm. Despite the crowded venue, it seemed as if only Liz graced it. Once done singing, they watched others perform until a man invited Liz to dance. Enzo watched intently for her response. Liz politely declined the offer, sparing him little attention. Enzo’s heart swelled with joy seeing his wife refuse other men's invitations to dance.

As the night advanced, Liz decided it was time to head home. She asked the driver to drop Mikaela off first, while Enzo trailed them, suspecting Liz might head elsewhere. Maintaining his distance, Enzo watched Mikaela alight from the car; subsequently, both Liz and Enzo made it home.
