The First Ball
The stadium buzzed with tension.
Riya Sinha stepped up to the crease, gripping her bat tightly. The opposing team’s fast bowler smirked at her, cracking his knuckles.
"You sure you don’t want to step back, princess?" he sneered.
Riya smirked right back. "You sure you don’t want to bowl properly, champ?"
The crowd roared at her comeback.
Ayaan, standing near the boundary line, groaned. "She’s taunting them now. Great."
Next to him, Coach Khanna sighed. "At least she’s confident."
Ayaan shot him a look. "She’s reckless."
Before the coach could respond, the umpire signaled the bowler.
The fast bowler took his run-up, eyes locked onto Riya.
Then—
A blur.
The ball shot forward like a bullet, aimed straight at her stumps.
Riya’s muscles tensed.
Then, at the last second—
THWACK!
Her bat met the ball with a clean, powerful stroke. The sound echoed through the stadium as the ball soared over the fielders’ heads.
A six.
The crowd erupted into cheers.
Ayaan’s jaw dropped.
Vikram’s voice rang out from the stands.
"THAT’S MY GIRL!"
Ayaan groaned, rubbing his face. "Of course she is."
Vikram smirked. "Jealous, Mehta?"
Ayaan shot him a glare. "Of what? Her reckless decision-making or your bad influence?"
Vikram snickered. "Both."
Ayaan groaned. "I HATE YOU, UNCLE!"

The Rival Captain’s Plan
The opposing captain scowled.
"She’s good," one of his teammates muttered.
The captain exhaled. "Yeah, but let’s see how she handles pressure. Spread the field. No easy runs."
The fielders moved into position.
Riya noticed immediately. They were boxing her in, forcing her to take risks.
She smirked.
"Smart. But not smart enough."
The next ball came. A perfect yorker.
Instead of hitting it aggressively, Riya adjusted her stance—
A delicate tap.
The ball rolled just past the bowler, landing between two confused fielders.
Before they could react—
"RUN!"
Riya and her partner sprinted, stealing a quick single.
Ayaan smirked.
"She’s playing them."
Vikram nudged him. "Admit it, you’re impressed."
Ayaan crossed his arms. "Shut up."

Ayaan’s Overprotectiveness Hits a New Level
The game intensified.
The men’s team switched strategies, throwing aggressive bouncers at Riya.
One came dangerously close—too close.
Ayaan’s heart stopped.
"Riya, WATCH IT!"
Riya barely dodged, the ball whizzing past her helmet.
Ayaan lost it.
"HEY! WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!"
He stormed toward the field before Coach Khanna grabbed his arm.
"Control yourself, Mehta," the coach muttered.
"That was a deliberate beamer!" Ayaan fumed. "I swear, if she gets hurt—"
"She won’t," the coach said firmly.
Ayaan scowled but backed down—barely.
On the field, Riya dusted herself off and smirked at the bowler.
"That all you got?"
The crowd went wild.
Ayaan sighed. "She’s impossible."

The Bet That Changes Everything
In the VIP stands, Aarav leaned back, watching the match unfold.
"She’s holding up well," he commented.
Vikram grinned. "Told you. She’s a Sinha."
Aarav smirked. "Still… want to make this interesting?"
Vikram’s eyes gleamed. "Go on."
"If Riya wins this match, you take full responsibility for training her professionally," Aarav said.
Vikram raised an eyebrow. "And if she loses?"
Aarav’s smirk widened. "You personally apologize to Neha for encouraging her madness."
Vikram paled. "You play dirty, Mehta."
Aarav shrugged. "Take it or leave it."
Vikram groaned. "Fine. Deal."
They shook hands.
Unaware that on the field, Riya was about to make history.
