Ayaan’s Breaking Point
Ayaan’s blood boiled as he listened to his father’s voice over the phone.
"Your sister has officially lost it!"
His fingers curled into fists. His jaw clenched.
And then, before he could stop himself—
"She is NOT my sister!"
Silence.
Absolute. Dead. Silence.
Even the Dean of AIIMS, who had been discussing something with Neha and Isha, flinched at the outburst.
Neha and Isha turned to him in shock.
Aarav, on the other end of the line, paused mid-rant.
But Vikram?
Vikram, the devil himself, was completely unfazed.
"Uh-huh," Vikram hummed, his amusement practically radiating through the phone. "So you’re finally admitting it?"
Ayaan’s brain short-circuited.
Wait. No. That was NOT what he meant.
Before he could backtrack, Vikram chuckled.
"Interesting."
Damn it.

The Mad Dash Home
"Mom, Maasi, I have to go!"
Ayaan grabbed his bag and sprinted out of the AIIMS office without another word.
Neha and Isha blinked before scrambling to catch up.
"Wait, Ayaan—"
"Sorry, Maasi, but Riya is about to do something stupid!"
He barely finished speaking before he bolted toward the metro station.
His heart pounded.
"What the hell is she thinking?!"
This was Riya Sinha.
She never did anything halfway.
And if she was challenging the best men’s cricket team in the city…
She was either going to make history or destroy herself trying.
---
The Cricket Battlefield
Riya adjusted her gloves, her grip firm and unwavering.
The sun blazed down on the field, but she barely felt it.
Her team stood behind her, waiting, some nervous, some confident.
Across from her, the captain of the opposing team smirked. "You sure about this, little girl?"
Riya smiled, unfazed. "Oh, absolutely."
The crowd whispered.
"She’s really doing it."
"She’s going to lose."
"No girl’s ever won against them."
Riya blocked out the noise.
One ball. One moment. One chance.
Then, from the distance—
"Ayaan?" One of her teammates pointed toward the entrance.
Riya turned.
And there he was.
Ayaan Mehta. Breathless. Furious. Eyes burning with rage as he stormed onto the field like a man on a mission.
"Oh, crap," Riya muttered.
---
Ayaan’s Wrath
Ayaan didn’t slow down.
Didn’t hesitate.
Didn’t care that the entire stadium was watching.
He stormed straight to her, grabbed her wrist, and hissed, "Riya. Are you insane?!"
She grinned, eyes twinkling. "Aww, you came all this way for me?"
"Cancel this match," he demanded.
Riya yanked her arm free. "No."
Ayaan clenched his fists. "You could get hurt—"
"I won’t."
"You could lose—"
"I won’t."
"Riya—"
"Ayaan."
Their gazes locked.
And suddenly, the entire stadium held its breath.
The air between them was thick. Charged. Unspoken words fighting to be heard.
And then—
Vikram’s voice rang out from the stands.
"LET HER PLAY, ROMEO!"
Ayaan’s head snapped up.
"SHUT UP, UNCLE!"
The crowd erupted into laughter.
Riya smirked. "Told you I’d win."
Ayaan groaned, running a frustrated hand through his hair. "I hate you."
She grinned wider. "No, you don’t."
The umpire blew the whistle.
And the match began.
