The Morning After – Awkward Breakfast
The next morning, the house was unusually quiet. Well, except for the sounds of idli being aggressively stabbed by a certain cricketer.
Riya sat at the dining table, scowling at her plate. Across from her, Ayaan sipped his coffee, avoiding eye contact like his life depended on it.
They had barely survived last night’s matchmaking circus organized by their own family. But today was a new day… right?
Wrong.
Isha and Neha were still basking in their victory.
“So, beta,” Neha began, her voice dripping with fake innocence, “you two ran away from the dinner table last night. Anything you’d like to share?”
Ayaan, mid-sip, nearly choked on his coffee.
Riya glared. “No, Amma, we just wanted peace!”
Isha gasped dramatically. “Oh dear! Why do I feel like I’m listening to a love story in denial?”
Vikram slammed his filter coffee cup down. “Enough! Let them eat!”
Neha raised an eyebrow. “Oh? Last night you were ready to hunt them down on the terrace. What changed?”
Aarav smirked. “He realized he’s losing the battle.”
Vikram groaned, rubbing his temples. “I swear, one of these days—”
Dadi and Amma, who had just entered the room, beamed at the scene.
“Ah, so we’re still discussing Ayaan and Riya’s future?” Dadi said, taking her seat.
Ayaan groaned. “Dadi, please—”
Amma clapped her hands. “A good match should be celebrated!”
Riya banged her head on the table.
Aarav chuckled. “I think our kids are ready to disappear into the void.”
Neha smiled sweetly. “That means we’re doing a great job.”
Ayaan muttered, “I hate my life.”
Vikram grumbled, “Same.”

The Scheming Grandmothers – More Trouble Ahead
As soon as breakfast ended, Dadi and Amma summoned Neha and Isha for a private meeting in the living room.
Ayaan and Riya, sensing danger, decided to eavesdrop.
“I say we increase the pressure,” Amma whispered.
Dadi nodded. “Yes, they’re too comfortable right now. We must strike harder.”
Neha smirked. “I agree. They need cute couple moments to push them closer.”
Isha clapped. “Ooooh! What if we—”
Ayaan turned to Riya, horrified. “They’re planning something.”
Riya groaned. “I KNEW IT!”
Ayaan whispered urgently, “We need a plan.”
Riya sighed. “Reverse psychology isn’t working anymore.”
Ayaan narrowed his eyes. “Then we need to outsmart them.”
Riya raised an eyebrow. “How?”
Ayaan smirked. “We act too friendly—so friendly that they lose interest.”
Riya blinked. “You’re suggesting fake flirting to stop them from matchmaking?”
Ayaan nodded.
Riya thought for a moment. “Mehta, that’s… actually genius.”
Ayaan grinned. “I know.”
Before they could celebrate, Vikram’s voice boomed from behind them.
“ARE YOU TWO SPYING ON YOUR MOTHERS?”
Ayaan and Riya froze.
Slowly, they turned around… and saw Vikram and Aarav standing there with crossed arms.
Riya whispered, “We’re dead.”
Ayaan nodded. “100%.”

Vikram squinted. “What exactly were you two whispering about?”
Ayaan cleared his throat. “Uh… science?”
Riya nodded quickly. “Yeah, physics!”
Aarav smirked. “Really? Because it sounded like you were planning something.”
Ayaan hesitated. “...Strategy for Riya’s cricket match?”
Vikram narrowed his eyes. “Lies.”
Ayaan sighed. “Fine. We were spying.”
Vikram pointed at Riya. “And you?”
Riya crossed her arms. “Well, you were going to yell at me anyway, so yeah.”
Aarav chuckled. “Smart girl.”
Vikram groaned. “Aarav, stop encouraging her!”
Ayaan took a deep breath. “Look, we just wanted to know what Dadi and Amma were scheming.”
Aarav raised an eyebrow. “And?”
Riya groaned. “They’re planning cute couple moments for us.”
Vikram turned to Aarav. “See?! SEE?! I TOLD YOU THEY’RE OUT TO GET US!”
Aarav shook his head. “Vikram, breathe.”
Vikram grabbed his hair. “BREATHE?! OUR MOTHERS ARE PLANNING TO RUIN OUR PEACE!”
Ayaan mumbled, “More like our peace.”
Vikram shot him a look. “Don’t get smart with me, Mehta.”
Riya sighed. “Look, Appa, you and Uncle Aarav need to fix this.”
Aarav smirked. “And why should we?”
Ayaan threw his hands up. “Because we’re innocent victims!”
Aarav chuckled. “You? Innocent? That’s funny.”
Riya glared. “We will make your lives miserable.”
Vikram raised an eyebrow. “Oh yeah? How?”
Riya smirked. “We’ll pretend to agree with the matchmaking.”
Ayaan caught on instantly. “Yeah! We’ll start acting all cute and romantic. Let them think we’re madly in love.”
Vikram and Aarav both looked horrified.
Aarav shook his head. “You wouldn’t.”
Riya grinned. “Try us.”
Ayaan nodded. “Either you stop Dadi and Amma… or we embrace the madness.”
Aarav sighed. “Vikram, I hate to admit it… but they’re good.”
Vikram groaned. “FINE! We’ll talk to our mothers.”
Riya smirked. “Good boys.”
Ayaan grinned. “Pleasure doing business with you.”
Aarav and Vikram sighed in defeat.
Meanwhile, inside the house, Dadi and Amma sipped their tea, completely aware of what just happened.
Dadi smirked. “Oh, they think they won.”
Amma chuckled. “Let them enjoy this tiny victory.”
Isha and Neha exchanged evil grins.
This matchmaking war was far from over.
