The Match on the Line
The scoreboard flickered.
Riya’s team needed 10 runs from 6 balls.
The stadium was a storm of cheers and tension. Every eye was locked on the field, waiting to see if Riya Sinha could pull off a miracle.
Ayaan clenched his fists. "She’s under too much pressure."
Vikram smirked. "Pressure makes diamonds, kid."
Ayaan ignored him, his eyes locked on Riya.
She adjusted her gloves, rolling her shoulders. Focus, Riya. This is your moment.
The bowler charged in. The ball came fast—too fast.
THWACK!
The bat connected. The ball sliced through the air—
Four runs!
The crowd erupted.
Ayaan let out a breath. Good. But not enough.
Riya turned to her partner. "We take this home. No mistakes."
The bowler wiped his forehead. Two balls left. 6 runs needed.
He threw another fast delivery.
Riya stepped forward—
A miscalculated shot.
The ball shot straight to a fielder.
A gasp ran through the audience.
"AAYAN, IF YOU PRAY, START NOW!" Vikram yelled.
Ayaan glared. "SHUT UP, UNCLE!"
The fielder caught the ball, aimed—
The throw missed!
Riya and her partner stole two runs.
Last ball. 4 runs needed.
The stadium held its breath.
Ayaan’s heart pounded. "Come on, Riya."
The bowler smirked. He sent a brutal yorker.
For a split second, Riya’s mind flashed back—
Years of practice. Hours of training. This was it.
She swung—
CRACK!
The ball soared.
Ayaan’s breath caught.
Vikram jumped up.
The crowd screamed—
SIX!
Riya raised her bat, victorious.
Her team stormed the field.
Ayaan exhaled, slumping back. "Of course she did it."
Vikram clapped his back. "She’s a star, Mehta. You better get used to it."
Ayaan scoffed but couldn’t stop the small smile forming.

The Aftermath – Ayaan vs. Riya
The locker room was chaotic with celebrations.
Riya walked out, still buzzing from adrenaline—only to find Ayaan waiting.
She smirked. "Came to congratulate me, Mehta?"
Ayaan crossed his arms. "Came to tell you that was reckless."
She raised an eyebrow. "Oh? You mean winning?"
Ayaan sighed. "You took unnecessary risks."
Riya stepped closer, tilting her head. "And yet, I won."
Ayaan met her gaze. "Next time, don’t make me worry like that."
Her breath hitched slightly.
Vikram’s voice broke the moment.
"Alright, lovebirds, let’s go celebrate!"
Riya and Ayaan turned to him, yelling in unison—
"SHUT UP, UNCLE!"
Vikram burst out laughing.

The Bet’s Consequence
At the VIP section, Aarav smirked.
"So, Vikram. Ready to keep your promise?"
Vikram groaned. "You and your stupid bets, Mehta."
Aarav chuckled. "You’re training her professionally now."
Vikram sighed, looking at Riya laughing with her teammates.
"...Yeah. And she’s going to be unstoppable."
Aarav nodded. "She already is."
