CTRL+HERO: -The Last Debugger

(a ten part pilot arc) CHAPTER 1 – "The World is a Lie"

Opening Scene – The Slow-Burn Realization

Kaydee wakes up on a hard wooden floor in what looks like a small medieval inn. His first thought?

"Okay, I seriously need to stop binge-playing RPGs until 4 AM. What is this—some kind of medieval LARP event?"

The bed is made of hay, the walls are stone, and there’s a rusty sword hanging on the wall. His clothes? A cheap-looking tunic and leather boots.

Then, things get weird.

There’s no phone, no Wi-Fi signal, no electronics—nothing modern at all.

The air smells different—like wood, dirt, and… an unsettling artificial scent underneath.

He checks the window, expecting to see city streets—instead, there’s a cobblestone village, people in armor, and a freaking dragon flying in the distance.

"Okay. Either I got kidnapped by some hardcore fantasy roleplayers, or… this is an actual isekai moment."

---

The Glitches Begin – The Surreal Awakening

Kaydee feels a faint static noise in his head. For a second, the world around him flickers. The walls, the people outside—everything turns into a glitched-out mess of pixelated squares before snapping back to normal.

He clutches his head. His memories don’t match reality.

He remembers streetlights, computers, the sound of car horns.

But now, his brain is telling him those things never existed.

It’s like his mind is fighting between two realities.

Then, in the corner of his vision…

A black screen appears.

[ERROR DETECTED]

[DEBUG CONSOLE UNLOCKED]

A floating text box—just like the cheat console from old PC games.

"No way. No freaking way."

He hesitates, then types:

"/noclip"

For a split second, his body phases through the wall—before the system suddenly forces him back with a painful electric jolt.

[WARNING: DEBUG CONSOLE DETECTED]

[SYSTEM ERROR: UNAUTHORIZED PLAYER]

[INITIATING SECURITY RESPONSE…]

The air grows heavy. A deep, mechanical voice booms from the sky:

"CHEATER DETECTED. EXECUTING PUNISHMENT PROTOCOL."

Kaydee gulps.

"Welp. Guess I just speedran my own death flag."

The ground cracks open, and a monstrous, glitching knight steps out, its eyes glowing with the words:

[ANTI-CHEAT ENFORCER]

Kaydee stares at the massive sword aimed at his face.

"Okay. No more testing cheats in public."

TO BE CONTINUED…

Kaydee Base – Character Profile

Full Name:

Kaydee Base

Alias:

The Last Debugger (Known by the AI and those aware of his anomaly)

The Glitchwalker (Rumored among players who notice his strange abilities)

The Cheatmaster (A title given by rogue guilds, either in awe or fear)

Age:

21

Gender:

Male

Appearance:

Hair: Messy black hair, often looks like he just rolled out of bed

Eyes: Sharp, dark brown with a faint digital flicker when using Debug Console commands

Build: Slim but toned (a result of long gaming marathons and forgetting to eat)

Attire:

Wakes up in the medieval world wearing a black hoodie, jeans, and sneakers—all seemingly immune to the world’s logic (possibly because they’re "outside the system")

Later wears a mix of rogue-like adventurer gear but keeps his modern clothing underneath

A tilde (~) symbol is tattooed on his left arm, glowing subtly when he accesses his Debug Console

---

Personality:

Quick-witted, sarcastic, and always thinking in "gamer logic"—he processes the world like an open-world RPG

Pragmatic but reckless—knows the risks of using cheats but can’t resist pushing the limits

Adaptable and creative—solves problems in unconventional ways, like speedrunners breaking a game

Loner by nature but gains allies out of necessity—trusts few but forms a party when he realizes he can’t fight alone

Deep down, he wants to know the truth—why the world changed and why he alone remembers

---

Background:

Before the world changed, Kaydee was a brilliant but aimless computer science student with a passion for retro games, hacking, and speedrunning

Was part of an underground "debugger" community that found exploits in online games for fun

The last thing he remembers before waking up in Gran Misepula was staying up all night testing an experimental "reality-bending console command system" in an obscure indie game

This may have been what caused him to survive the world shift with his memory intact

---

Abilities & Powers:

Debug Console (~ Command Access)

A holographic console and a floating keyboard that appear only when Kaydee wills them to, emerging from the tilde (~) symbol tattooed on his left arm.

Basic Commands: /noclip (phase through walls), /godmode (temporary invincibility), /spawnitem (create objects)

Advanced Commands: Reality-altering exploits that risk attracting the AI Game Master’s attention

Limitations: Every cheat he uses increases his "Detection Level"—if it maxes out, he gets forcefully reset or worse

Gamer Instincts

Years of gaming have given Kaydee:

Speedrunner Reflexes – Exploits movement mechanics for maximum efficiency

Pattern Recognition – Instinctively learns enemy attack patterns like a boss fight

Quick Adaptation – Can instantly switch between different playstyles

Code Sight (Glitch Perception)

Sometimes, he can see the "code" of the world, revealing weak spots, hidden pathways, or errors

This ability happens randomly unless he uses specific debug commands

---

Weaknesses:

Detection Risk – Every cheat he uses alerts the AI Game Master

Resource Management – Can’t just spam cheats; must use them strategically

Loneliness – Others think he’s insane when he talks about the "real world"

Moral Dilemma – Should he break the system and risk total collapse, or try to fix it?

---

Main Goals:

Survive the AI’s Hunt – Stay under the radar while learning more about the system

Find the Truth – Why did the world change? Who or what caused it?

Decide the Fate of Gran Misepula – Will he restore reality, rule the game world, or destroy the system entirely?

---

Notable Quotes:

"Alright, let’s speedrun this nightmare."

"If this is a game, then where’s the exploit?"

"The AI is watching? Good. Let’s give it a damn show."

"I didn’t ask to be the last debugger… but if this world is a broken game, I’ll be the one to rewrite it."
