4.

Kain found himself back in the city 10 days earlier than he had planned. He quickly tied up loose ends and was ready to make the move here. His was glad about the way things had turned out. His aunt had called him over to manage some of her ventures. Being closer to her than his mother, he was happy to comply and without hesitation, he accepted.

Also, that woman was in the city. He saw her 3 months before when he came to check on the management of his club. She left a deep impression on him.

I really can’t wait to meet her. He thought to himself as he made final touches to his outfit in front of the mirror. But first, I need to tell Aunt Doore that I’m here.

“I got your address from Secretary Dawson. You never messaged me so I came to find you.” Casper started to explain as soon as he saw Argen. “I sent several messages and called but... but you didn’t reply.” Unable to sleep all night, thinking of how he would have to apologise, he had waited impatiently for her message to come in. After calling and leaving several messages he gave up and called Dawson, who had sent her address,

Maybe she’s just ignoring me.

Come to think of it, she hasn’t really said a single word to me all this time. He wandered as he drove over.

“Oh. Okay.” Without any explanation, she quietly led the way to the back door. “You had something you wanted to say?” she opened the door and walked in. He took a long look at her as he followed behind. Her short hair swept back with a headband, revealing unsightly scars from what seemed to be from stitches and healed scalds. Behind her left ear, the back of her neck, her left shoulder and her back. They were there. The tank top she wore didn’t do much to hide it. Sitting down, she looked straight at him with cold indifferent eyes.

“I’m sure you must be busy. I will try not to waste your time.” Her indifference had slowly began to irate him.

“Those scars, how did they come about? Could it be that you were caught in the arms of another woman’s lover and she decided to teach you a lesson?”

“Get out.” Her expression had changed now. She looked to be in a world of pain. “GET OUT!!” louder now with tears rolling down from her eyes. Casper, taken aback by her reaction, was speechless. It was rare for her to get so emotional

“I said to get out.” She was on her feet now, shoving him towards the door and screaming at the top of her voice “Just fucking leave. *** off!” With that she pushed him out the door and slammed it shut in his face. He could hear her uncontrollable sobbing through the door.

“What exactly am I doing?” he said to himself as he stood listening to her cries. When it became quiet he turned and left. This wasn’t what I wanted*.
