Episode 19

Samael entered his study, his blood boiling with the rejection from Dafne, not even caring about the threat. She hated him so much that she chose calamity over having his child.

"Damn it!" Samael sat down and lit a cigarette while trying to figure out how to get her to accept. "Why does everything have to be so difficult with you?"

As he finished his cigarette, an idea struck him. He stood up abruptly and called his secretary. In the late hours of the night, Samael revisited Dafne's room, this time accompanied by his secretary who carried papers in his hands. She looked at them puzzled but cautiously let them in.

"Don't look at us like that, wife. I came to propose a deal."

She looked at him distrustfully but sat down to hear what he had to offer. "These papers are a contract, I want you to read them and think carefully about it."

"A contract for what?"

"A good question... If you have my future heir, I will let you go back to your parents with a responsible sum of money. What do you say?"

She was surprised by the proposal, her heart starting to race and tears filling her eyes. "How do I know you're not lying?"

"You can review the contract and see if there's anything out of place, you can get a discreet lawyer to advise you."

"What if I accept?"

"Well, as the contract states. You will have to conceive my child, no matter if it's a boy or a girl. It has to be within the next two months, I want your pregnancy to be visible by the end of the year so we can announce it at a Christmas party."

"I..."

Dafne clenched her hands, her face turning red. She glanced at the secretary and Samael, feeling timid, asked him to leave. She looked directly into his eyes, although clearly embarrassed, she didn't look away.

"I will have your child, but I will not sleep with you."

The room tensed up, she stared firmly at Samael who was serious and contained anger in his eyes.

"How then will you have my child?"

His voice sounded hoarse and intimidating, she hesitated before speaking.

"We can go to a clinic for artificial insemination."

"Why do you think I would agree to that? I want to procreate my child naturally."

"But I hate you."

Dafne's voice was calm, there was a disinterest in her tone that wounded Samael's ego.

"I will not have intimacy with you again, for me, sex is something I share with the person I love and trust..."

"We can't, it's risky. If my grandmother finds out, it will be the end of us."

"Then make sure she doesn't find out, because I won't let you touch me even a single hair."

"Then you won't be free."

She gritted her teeth in anger, she wanted to be free but didn't want to give him her body and not be able to look at herself in the mirror again. It was like selling her soul to the devil.

"You have two days to give me an answer."

He walked to the door and saw Dafne's tears falling like a leak. He had lied to her, it didn't matter how she got pregnant, the important thing was that the child carried his and her blood. But he wanted to have her back in his arms, there were many nights he yearned for those intimate moments they shared, he had the absurd idea that if they relived those moments, she might forget the betrayal and love him again as she did before.

Samael entered his room and saw Das sleeping, he had lost weight, his clavicle bones now much more visible. He stroked his pink hair and noticed the black roots.

"Will you cry when I have my child?" Samael whispered in his ear, then kissed his forehead as he lay down beside him and hugged him. Das complained in his sleep as he curled up against his chest. Samael smiled and held him closer.

"You're more honest when you're asleep."

Daphne was sitting on the floor looking out of the window, her desires for freedom were huge, she wanted to go back home, hug her parents and seek the comfort she so desperately needed from them. She picked up the contract and read it, there was nothing strange about it and that was what worried her. Why would Samael let her go like this? Something didn't make sense, however, she decided to accept.

The next day she asked Clair to accompany her to Samael's company, upon arrival she was led to the office by the secretary.

"You still had time to think. Have you decided?"

"Yes."

"Good to see you're still sensible."

"But I'm not going to have sex with you."

"I already told you it's not possible to do it in a clinic."

"We will do it at home. I have looked for many ways in which we can achieve it without the need for you to touch me."

Samael stood up and walked towards her, making her stand against the wall and holding her face, he made her look into his eyes.

"I don't care what you have found out, we will only have that baby in the normal way. Understood? If you're not willing to do it, then say goodbye to the opportunity to return."

He let her go and returned to his seat, she stood there crying because she knew she had no other option.

"Af.. After I have the baby, I don't want to see you again."

"Of course."

Samael smiled victoriously and couldn't help but feel excitement inside.

"I will start from tonight."
