When the party ended, the guests who were to be accommodated in the mansion were guided by the employees. Daphne entered the room feeling physically and mentally exhausted, although she already knew the situation of that young man, it was obvious that it was much better than hers.
"I'm exhausted..."
She whispered as she undressed to take a bath, filled the tub and got in to relax, she didn't know how much time had passed, but her body started to cramp up and she decided to go to sleep, when she came out of the bathroom she saw Samael sitting on the couch waiting for her with a serious face. Seeing him scared her, a sense of deja vu invaded her and she thought to herself, "I'm in trouble." He looked her up and down for a few seconds as if trying to figure out what she was thinking.
"I'll be sleeping here tonight."
Daphne's face filled with annoyance, she didn't understand what was happening but the mere idea of sharing a room with him made her blood boil.
"I'm not going to sleep with you."
"There are guests, as a couple we can't sleep in separate rooms. Just endure it for today."
She clenched her fists in frustration, he took off his shoes and lay down on the bed casually, she looked at him resentfully as she tried to hold back her tears, after seeing that he had fallen asleep, she approached the bed and grabbed a pillow and then fell asleep on the couch. When she woke up, she felt arms around her waist, she tensed up and noticed she was in bed.
"Ah!"
She screamed as she pushed him forcefully, causing her own body to roll and fall to the floor. Samael woke up and seeing her on the floor sighed and reached out his hand to help her up, but she fiercely rejected it as she stood up.
"Shouldn't you thank me? Last night you kept trembling."
She glared at him with hatred and remained silent, not wanting to waste her energy on him. Feeling ignored, he got angry, walked over to where she was and pulled her arm, making her fall on the bed, she tried to scream but he got on top of her and roughly covered her mouth.
"I've put up with that haughty attitude for a while, but not anymore. Who do you think you are?"
She struggled but it was futile, she was subjected to the force of that cruel man, she cried desperately begging him not to harm her.
"I'll let you go, don't you dare scream unless you want to suffer the consequences."
She trembled in fear and nodded, he caressed her face while giving her a short kiss on the lips.
"Good girl."
Then he got up and before entering the bathroom he turned to her with a victorious face.
"Starting tomorrow, you will come down to eat with me, I hope you don't make me come looking for you."
Then he entered, leaving Daphne crying on the bed with marks on her arm and face. She sat on the bed and her body still trembled, feeling how defenseless she was against him; as she continued to cry on the bed, he came out of the bathroom and asked Clair to get him a change of clothes. While waiting sitting on the couch, he observed Daphne crying under the sheets, he wanted to approach and comfort her but that was not going to happen, especially since he was the one who made her cry in the first place.
When Clair brought him clothes, he changed and left without saying anything. She was unable to get out of bed all day, and no one came to take her out of the room. The only one who entered the room was Clair to bring her food, which she refused. The next day at breakfast, Clair reminded her that she had to come down to the table. She went down, and everyone noticed the bruise around her mouth and arm. She sat at the table and saw Samael and the young man already there eating. The young man saw her and lowered his head upon noticing the bruise on her face. She had no appetite but was afraid of Samael, so she forced herself to swallow every bite of food. Everyone ate breakfast in silence, the only one comfortable with the situation being Samael, with even a hint of joy on his face. When they finished eating, Dafne got up from the table, feeling sick to her stomach, and wanting to vomit. He took her arm, and she instinctively let go out of fear. Seeing Samael's cold face looking at her made her scared, and she lowered her head.
"Prepare dinner tonight, I want to eat the same thing you made the first time I ate at your house. I want Das to taste your food."
The young man opened his eyes and wanted to refuse; this was humiliating her too much, he didn't want to put her in that situation, but she just nodded and then left the house towards the greenhouse where she cried bitterly. She didn't understand why he did these things; it was as if he wanted to make her existence even more miserable than it already was.
While in the greenhouse, she called her mother; every time something like this happened, she felt the need to hear her voice.
"Mom, I miss you. I miss the sun that used to bronze my skin every time I went cycling. I miss the sound of the sea and the voices of the tourists enjoying it."
"Are you okay? Samael told me that you have been acting strange these days."
She was in shock; her parents were communicating with him, and he was so bold as to say those things.
"I just miss you a lot... Being away from you is harder than I thought."
"Daughter... Do you remember that time when you went camping with your schoolmates?"
"Of course... It was the first time I was away from home."
"I remember you were so eager to go, you didn't even sleep that night."
They both began to laugh as they remembered everything.
"You were so excited to be away from me and your father, but then when you arrived and spent your first night surrounded by so many girls you didn't know, you started to miss us and they had to call us to reassure you."
"Yes... I remember."
"After talking to us, you could enjoy the camp peacefully... Daughter, do you want to come back?"
Dafne felt that question like a blow; her mother had realized that she wasn't feeling well in that place. She stayed silent for a few seconds with a tightness in her chest.
"You know that we will always support you, right? If being there is more than you can bear, we will always be willing to have you with us."
"I sometimes want to come back, but here I have my husband, Mom; this was my decision, and now I have to deal with the consequences. No matter how much I miss you, I can't go back."
"Daughter..."
Her mother sobbed, and Dafne felt her heart breaking hearing her like that.
"Mom, don't cry. I will talk to Samael to go on vacation, okay?"
"Really?"
"Of course, you know he loves me a lot, if I insist, he will do it."
Dafne lied; she knew that was not possible, Samael would never let her go back, but she wanted to give her mother peace even if it was just for that moment.
