Episode 14

After he killed the group's leader, he swiftly took down the others! Those barely conscious on the ground immediately shuffled away from Riko.

But Riko pursued them relentlessly, even if they merely moved a few meters away! If they had the capacity to run, he would still give chase.

"What are you going to do? Don't kill me; if we all die, the Sanggoro family will hunt you down, Lord Sugi will seek vengeance!" exclaimed the man loudly and quickly.

He feared that those in front of him wouldn't hear his words, but what truly worried him was the truth in them.

Riko paid him no mind, plunging the iron pipe into the man's throat for being too noisy, in Riko's opinion.

Riko killed many, while the rest were wiped out by Dion and Alda! They weren't good people who shied away from brutality.

On the contrary, they could be merciless if provoked, whereas they only wanted to return home, yet one issue after another arose.

Riko was irate.

Clang...

The sound of an iron pipe striking the asphalt street, despite having killed them all, his anger still boiled within him.

"We'll go after the Sanggoro family! Destroy them all," Riko declared.

"Hey, do we really need to go that far?" asked Tama.

"If you won't join me, I'll go alone!" Riko retorted.

He was the most emotional, with his fighting spirit still burning; he longed to continue the battle.

Bam!

Alda struck Riko out of the blue, sending him tumbling to the asphalt.

"Damn you, Alda, do you want to fight me?" Riko snapped as he got up.

"Hey, get a grip of yourself! Don't talk like that. Even if you plan on going to the Sanggoro's, we're still coming with you," Alda said.

He had been quite startled upon hearing that Riko would attack the Sanggoro family alone! No matter his prowess, he would die if faced with numerous skillful fighters, perhaps even martial arts masters.

Thus, he reminded Riko with pain as an educator and struck Riko hard enough to knock him down.

"If you can't even withstand one hit from me, how will you face enemies alone? Do you think you have no fellow disciples?" Alda spoke again.

"Fine, I was just talking big!" Riko replied once he regained clear thinking.

"I think it's better we handle this later! Let's focus on getting back to the Setiadi family residence. You'd told them we were returning, and they might be waiting," Alda suggested once the tension had dissipated.

Riko calmed down after the single blow from Alda and finally heeded Alda's advice.

Dion and Tama cleared the way, removing the blockade and scattered bodies from in front of their car, then they all got in and sped off to the east.

This was a squalid area, hence at a time like this night, few passed through save for some poor and homeless dwelling here.

It was also a hotspot for drug dealers and other underworld activities, making it difficult for the police to manage.

That's why this slum had been chosen by the Sanggoro family's fighters to ambush and execute Riko and the others.

Unfortunately for them, they met a grisly end at the hands of their supposedly easy targets.

It wasn't long before some vagrants arrived at the scene of the fight.

"Hey, do you see that? Looks like a lot of bodies strewn about ahead," one of them remarked.

"You're right, careful we don't get involved!" replied his friend.

They proceeded cautiously. After some time, one of them urged the others on.

"Damn it, seems like there's nobody around! Quick, let's check out the victims," the impatient one said.

He bravely approached the chaos and was quite shocked. While slightly inebriated from his drink, he still felt nauseous from the fresh, pungent blood.

"Guys, they're all dead! Damn, there's a car and luxury items, I could drink to my heart's content and call women for days. Ha-ha-ha...!" he laughed boisterously, overjoyed.

His drunkenness was momentarily forgotten as he rifled through the pockets of the dead, taking their belongings.

Hearing their friend, the other five ruffians rushed over and gazed at the mess.

"What happened here, damn, this is our lucky day!" exclaimed another, equally ecstatic.

Then he took the wallet and chain necklace off the boss that Riko had killed and pocketed the cash and gold.

Regardless of the gore, the young ruffians didn't care, they simply took the items and wiped them on the clothes of the fallen.

"Ha-ha-ha, these guys were so kind to rob for us," others laughed.

For them, finding money was hard, and work was dirty; now that they stumbled upon loot, it felt like true fortune had struck.

After looting the luxury items, ranging from expensive belts and jewelry to watches and money, they decided to leave. Then one of them shouted.

"Hey... Are you fools? What about the car? If we sell it on the black market, we could live comfortably for a year!" he argued.

They all exchanged glances. Taking a car with official papers was risky, but selling it on the black market, even at a knockdown price, would be a great profit.

"You're right, you sometimes think clearly when it comes to money!" replied his buddy who first checked the scene, slapping the back of the other's head.

Quickly, they moved the bodies that blocked their exit and drove away in four black BMW sedans.

The cars delved deeper into the shabby fringes of Emerald City.

Time moved on.

Sugi, who had been awaiting news from the forces he dispatched, was now pacing in his office.

It had been over three hours since his most capable subordinates reported being in pursuit, with no news since.

Sugi, finally losing his temper, grabbed his phone to contact his subordinate.

The phone rang and he waited. Someone on the other end picked up abruptly.

"Hello... Who is this?" a voice asked from the other side, loud music blaring in the background.

Sugi froze; the voice was not that of his skilled subordinate.
