Episode 10

After urging Salwa to act quickly, Mr. Romi led Alda and Riko to the VIP waiting area in his office space.

Seeing all this, the other sales clerks were astonished! They couldn't fathom what Mr. Romi was thinking.

"Is there something wrong with Mr. Romi?" one of them remarked.

"I'm sure there isn't; it seems something is amiss! Are we the only ones out of the loop?" said the sales clerk with heavy makeup.

She was pretty astute, suspecting something odd and was all but certain about Mr. Romi's temperament.

Therefore, if someone was treated with such respect, it undoubtedly meant those individuals were important.

Yet, she couldn't grasp how Alda and Riko were regarded as significant people; from what she knew, dignitaries, on facing such mockery as earlier, would instantaneously rage and wield their power to retaliate multiply.

Instead, the two of them merely glanced and then kept quiet! This was characteristic behavior of the impoverished.

Everyone waited in the showroom's waiting area, while Salwa prepared the paperwork and vehicle accessories that Alda and Riko were purchasing. Since the car was not cheap, the process was complex, further complicated by Alda's wish to take the vehicle immediately.

Adding the cost of both cars together amounted to around 7.5 billion, which made Salwa anxious! Success would mean exceeding targets and securing a bonus above 3% of the car sales.

In monetary terms, that would amount to over 220 million rupiah, a sum substantial for Salwa.

Waiting less than 20 minutes, Salwa headed straight to the VIP waiting room with the purchase agreement, asking for Riko's signature. Salwa returned the credit card with trembling hands.

During the processing, she had hoped incessantly that the payment would go through! Once it succeeded, she felt like she had hit the jackpot.

Overjoyed, she hurried over, handing over the buyer and seller contract in her and Riko's names, and after ratifying the agreement, she exhaled in relief.

"Mr. Romi, it's all taken care of; here's the sales contract!" Salwa said with delight.

Subsequently, Mr. Romi handed over the documents and car keys to Alda and Riko.

"Thank you, Mr. Riko, and Mr. Alda for your trust in our dealership!" Mr. Romi said nervously.

He still felt a tinge of fear recalling the Bank of the World's Sentur name listed in the payment structure.

'What kind of wealthy people are these?' Mr. Romi pondered to himself.

"All right, accepted! Please send the complete documents to this address, Mr. Romi!" Riko replied, giving the Setiadi family's home address.

Mr. Romi promptly jotted down a note that the Setiadi family was exceedingly affluent and influential.

After the transaction was completed, the pair exited, each carrying a car key.

Upon leaving the office, the other sales clerks watched with downcast expressions! If they had known that these seemingly needy individuals would genuinely purchase a car, they would have served them promptly.

Now, they could see the mechanics preparing two extremely expensive cars, with a combined value of more than 7.5 billion, causing them to feel a tremendous sense of missed opportunity.

Handling such a large purchase themselves would have yielded a commission of over 200 million! Such an amount nearly matched their annual salary.

Envious glances from the other sales clerks were thrown towards Salwa! However, she remained unfazed, continuing to accompany Alda and Riko until they drove off.

The girl who accidentally spoke to Mr. Romi earlier approached Salwa.

"Salwa, you are so lucky today, you'll earn a hefty commission! You'll treat me to a meal later, right?" she said cheerfully.

Indeed, this girl was naive; she had been swayed by the crowd mocking Salwa earlier and joined in.

Nonetheless, she later forgot about it and resumed talking to Salwa as if nothing had happened. This made Salwa realize that despite her senior's slowness and tendency to get carried away, she was genuinely kindhearted.

Hence, Salwa wasn't perturbed by her, but she remained somewhat cautious of the others.

"Of course, Sister Niken, I'll treat you to an all-you-can-eat meal!" Salwa replied with a sweet smile.

"Yay!" the girl, whose name was Niken, exclaimed with excitement.

"Niken!" snapped the heavily made-up girl.

"Yes, Ayu?" Niken responded loudly.

Ayu was about to scold her again but swallowed her words as she saw Mr. Romi emerging from his office and heading towards them.

"Salwa, did you by chance ask for either of their phone numbers?" Mr. Romi inquired enthusiastically.

Earlier, after seeing Alda and Riko off, he had re-entered the office, curious about the Setiadi family.

However, researching led to the revelation that the Setiadis in Emerald City were enigmatic! Not only were regular folks like them unable to get an audience, but high-ranking politicians also found it challenging. Only national security operatives and a few underworld figures had any contact with them.

Thus, Mr. Romi had resigned to the fact he couldn't get close to Riko but brightened upon recalling Salwa.

And so, he stepped out and asked her.

"There is one, but they mentioned they rarely use the phone, so getting ahold of them might not be easy!" Salwa recounted her conversation with Alsa and Riko.

Riko had provided his personal number reluctantly after Salwa requested a way to contact him for potential issues, explaining that he seldom used the phone. He cautioned that he might not always be reachable and asked for understanding if there was no immediate response.

Salwa relayed this information.

"Can't be, Ayu said they didn't even own phones, so that's probably a fake number!" Niken interjected, reacting to Salwa's explanation.

On hearing this, Ayu's eyes dropped in mortification, almost choking. Indeed, she stated so before the duo demonstrated their ability to afford the vehicles, but how could her utterance prove true now?

Hearing this, Mr. Romi too was taken aback but then remembered Niken's initial comment about Salwa serving someone who seemed like a clown. He turned his gaze toward Ayu.

"Ayu, you've displayed poor morals here! You almost caused trouble for this dealership; your poor behavior means you'll forfeit your end-of-the-month bonus, and your salary this month will be reduced by 20%!" declared Mr. Romi.

Ignoring Ayu thereafter, he turned his focus back to Salwa, eager to obtain Riko's phone number.
