Episode 9

Alda and Riko followed Salwa's directions towards the array of off-road vehicles that were numerous; some were luxurious and elegant, others were tall and imposing, and some even resembled armored combat vehicles.

Ignoring the scoffs from Salwa's seniors in the car showroom, Alda, having understood the recent city life, whispered to Riko.

"Do you know that people in the city live like this before?" Alda murmured into Riko's ear.

"No, I've been in the mountains since childhood, and after growing into my teens, I was fetched by a master and moved to a secluded school! So I'm unaware, that's why I ignore them because they seem easily defeated!" Riko whispered in return.

Riko's view was straightforward, coming from a family of fighters, so he only knew how to defeat an opponent.

As for worthless words, he didn't ponder too much, unless it was an immediate challenge to him and his comrades—like the situation with Rudi and Lina in the Mercure Hotel lobby.

Thus, Riko taught them a lesson due to his irritation.

Salwa was presenting a large and luxurious SUV, but since she saw Alda and Riko whispering, she became somewhat uncomfortable and quickly said,

"Sirs, if you dislike this one, feel free to choose any that you prefer!" Salwa exclaimed with a bright smile.

Salwa's smile was charming and sharp, causing many of her seniors to feel outdone.

Hence, when they saw a customer appearing wealthy and well-dressed, they would snatch them away; but if they perceived someone as impoverished like Alda and Riko, they were reluctant to serve.

According to them, individuals such as these two were just time-wasters, so Salwa would typically be pushed to handle them, followed by scorn from the others at their leisure.

Thankfully, this time Salwa approached to assist right after exiting the restroom, allowing them to commence jeering as they did now.

"Ah, I'll take that one!" Alda stated to Salwa.

Alda pointed to a Hummer H2, with a price well over two billion rupiah, prompting a startled reaction from Salwa.

"One more, that one there!" Alda added.

He indicated a black Mercedes Benz G-Class that exuded sheer elegance.

With such choices, Salwa hardly believed what was transpiring. The month was half-over, yet she hadn't sold a single car.

"Are you genuinely going to purchase both these vehicles?" Salwa asked joyously.

"Yes, indeed, why else would we come here if not to buy a car?" Alda asked back, though he was simply clarifying.

"Use this..." Alda handed over a black credit card nearly identical to the one Riko used at the Mercure Hotel.

"No, that can't be right! You're in Emerald City, the expenses should be mine," Riko interrupted.

Salwa was a touch puzzled by the pair's eagerness to pay, while at the waiting area, Salwa's seniors watched as though it were a clown show.

"Look, they're vying to pay—no doubt that card won't work in the end!" jeered the heavily made-up woman.

"True, we've witnessed such scenes often! They'll likely leave without buying, claiming they just wanted to enjoy the AC!" her companion replied.

The laughter that followed seemed utterly hilarious to them.

Amid their merriment, a middle-aged man in a sharp suit entered the showroom.

He walked briskly but caught their loud laughter, which caused him to frown.

"What's so funny?" asked Mr. Romi.

"Mr. Romi, you're back?" said the heavily made-up woman with an enchanting smile.

The others stood and greeted Mr. Romi one-by-one.

Mr. Romi was the showroom's manager, so his curiosity piqued when he noticed his employees gathered and laughing loudly.

"We're laughing because Salwa's servicing two amusing customers!" another woman chimed in.

She received a sharp glare from the heavily made-up woman and quickly covered her mouth with her hands, realizing her slip.

Mr. Romi, discerning the situation, glanced towards the displayed cars and spotted the two chatting with Salwa.

As Mr. Romi observed them, Alda and Riko had agreed that Riko would pay—the hometown host's reason was convincing.

Now holding Riko's black credit card, a product of Bank Sentur—a global bank covering virtually anything—the card represented the owner's identity across nations, simplifying international travel.

Such a card was quite special, yet many people, especially from lower or middle classes, were ignorant of its prestige, thus mistaking it for a common, almost toy-like artifact.

Once Salwa proceeded to the office to process the transaction, she saw Mr. Romi approaching.

"Mr. Romi, let me introduce Mr. Riko and Mr. Alda. They're here to purchase vehicles. Mr. Alda has chosen a Hummer H2 and a Mercedes Benz G-Class!" Salwa informed candidly.

She spoke fluently and professionally, afterward mentioning Riko would handle the payment.

Mr. Romi was surprised by the choices, considering their attires, but as a professional, he examined the payment card.

On recognizing the card's significance, he was absolutely shocked, almost feeling faint.

During his managerial tenure, he'd only once encountered someone with a similar card, accompanied by staunch bodyguards, and that client had exuded the aura of a minor emperor.

But now, confronted with casual attire, he was flabbergasted.

"Greetings, Mr. Riko and Mr. Alda, I'm Romi, the manager of this car showroom. Apologies for any displeasing service!" Mr. Romi said, shaking hands with each in turn.

They acknowledged him briefly, and then Alda, eager to proceed, urged Mr. Romi.

"Let us hasten the purchase process, Mr. Romi. We'd like to take the cars right away; pricing is not our concern!" Alda declared as if he was the one paying.

Riko wasn't bothered, and after being prompted, Mr. Romi instructed Salwa to move quickly.
