Episode 11

Upon their return to the Mercure Hotel, all four of them immediately took to rest! Unbeknownst to them, the vicinity of the Mercure Hotel and its surrounding areas were under the scrutiny of the Sanggoro family.

With the head of the Sanggoro family in search of his missing grandchild, it wasn't until the late afternoon that the Sanggoro kin discovered Rudi Sanggoro laying unconscious in the roadside brush at the outskirts of Emerald City.

This incited fury within the Sanggoro family, leading to the patriarch issuing orders to his confidants to take decisive action.

The Sanggoro family's supremacy in the business world granted them the resources to swiftly identify those responsible for the wrongdoing.

Since the red axe group wielded significant influence in Emerald City, the Sanggoro patriarch tasked Sugi with the job of closely investigating Riko Setiadi and his associates.

As a consequence, there were many individuals lingering near the Mercure Hotel, vigilantly monitoring the movements of Rudi, Alda, and their companions.

Among them were a few disguised as hotel guests! They didn't dare to openly stir trouble within the Mercure Hotel, as rumors had it, the establishment was still a subsidiary of a powerful family in Katao City.

Therefore, the Sanggoro family chose caution over confrontation, given that their influence was limited to Emerald City.

When evening came, the four gathered for dinner.

Given that they'd booked the Presidential suite, there was no need for them to dine out, as a lavish feast was already laid out for them.

Tama ate heartily, chatting as he ate.

"I haven't had the pleasure of such fine food in ages! It's so exciting," he said, his mouth full as he spoke, though his words were somewhat muffled.

"Just eat now, talk later! I know we've had tasteless meals for years in the mountains, but there's no need to discuss it with your mouth full," Alda advised him.

Meanwhile, Dion merely watched Tama and continued eating serenely, while Riko observed all three companions.

"Yeah, I know, but this is just too good!" Tama replied.

It was quite normal for someone who hadn't tasted delicious food in years to be overly enthusiastic upon reencountering it.

"We should probably leave the hotel tonight! I have the feeling we're constantly being watched," Riko shifted the topic.

Dion glanced at him, then remarked, "It seems to be those fools from the young master's camp who are watching us!"

"Are you planning to trap them into revealing themselves?" Alda chimed in.

"That's the idea; acting during daylight seems too troublesome," Riko responded.

"Nighttime is my domain for maximizing combat effectiveness," Dion smirked.

Then he resumed his meal, while Tama ignored their discussion, focusing solely on enjoying the food before him.

In fact, Tama was enjoying his meal so much that he even snatched some from Alda's plate.

Once they finished dining, they promptly got ready to depart from the Mercure Hotel! They were setting their plan into motion.

Despite the spies moving with utmost caution, even monitoring from a distance, the four's training had honed their senses to an extreme degree, allowing them to effortlessly detect their watchers' movements.

Meanwhile, in a building roughly one kilometer away from the Mercure Hotel, several individuals sat gripping their rifle scopes, sans the rifles attached.

They kept close watch over Riko and his friends, and upon noticing suspicious activity, one of them quickly relayed a message to his colleague.

"They're on the move, looks like they're preparing to leave the Hotel. Report back to the boss immediately!" came the swift command.

The colleague snatched the rifle scope to verify his companion's claim and after confirmation, he pulled out his cell phone to contact their leader.

"Boss, they're leaving!" he reported urgently.

On the other end of the line, a sneer threaded across the face of the receiver.

"Follow them and if opportunity arises, eliminate them!" came the heavy reply.

"Understood!" the informant acknowledged.

They were part of an independent unit formed by Sugi, which meant they were direct operatives of the Sanggoro family.

Sugi was highly skilled; having left another city's mafia group because of a bloody incident, he ended up in Emerald City where he was taken in by the Sanggoro family, earning his unwavering loyalty akin to a family hound.

This is how the Sanggoro family had risen to the pinnacle of the business world in just a few decades.

However, Sugi was unfamiliar with the inner workings of the underworld in Emerald City, hence he did not know the Setiadi family.

Only the red axe group was somewhat aware, hence their fear of the Setiadi clan.

That's why Sugi avoided direct dealings with the red axe group, choosing instead to target Riko Setiadi and friends.

Elsewhere.

Sugi, having just ended his phone call, only sneered smugly.

"Kids, you've picked the wrong adversaries! If only you hadn't crossed paths with me and the Sanggoro family, you'd still be dining well tomorrow," he said while twirling his phone in hand.

Then, he resumed smoking his cigar, which had been resting in the ashtray during the call.

The room soon filled with smoke, and as the door opened, an aging man entered.

"Sugi, why haven't we heard anything about that bastard yet?" demanded the Sanggoro patriarch.

"Boss, they're just about to leave the Mercure Hotel! You know we can't touch anything related to that hotel, so we've only been waiting for this chance. And now, the opportunity we've been waiting for has presented itself," Sugi stated, extinguishing his cigar.

"Good news, indeed!" the patriarch sneered in return.

With that, he left Sugi's office, the very place where the Sanggoro family's ruthlessness against rebellious business rivals was orchestrated.

And so, the Sanggoro reputation as merciless entrepreneurs in Emerald City stood unchallenged, a fact that convinced Rudi Sanggoro they held unchallenged power within the city.

Unfortunately for Rudi Sanggoro, this time he'd met Riko and the others – especially Riko, a fierce combatant.

Thus, up until now, he remained comatose in the Sanggoro family hospital.

His face was swathed in bandages, with only small gaps for his eyes and mouth, his leg in a cast, immobilized for a lengthy period.

It seemed he would be bedridden for quite some time; even if he recovered, he would be lame due to the severe fractures in his shin bone.

And his once handsome face? That might never return without plastic surgery, given that his nose was broken and his jaw misaligned.

In this tale, he was portrayed as the dishonored young master.
