"Do you plan on holding him all day in your arms?" Arturo's words came from where he was leaning by the door.
"It's just that he's so adorable." Arturo shook his head and walked away. Susan decided to go outside, feeling the coolness of the wind against her skin. The atmosphere was so natural, but the next day she regretted not wearing any warm clothing.
Arturo hadn't told her where to sleep, so she didn't want to deal with her husband's bad mood. She made the decision to sleep on the sofa with the little dog sleeping at her feet. When she woke up, her whole body felt tired, her eyelids heavy, and she had a headache and a slight fever.
"What's wrong with you?" The man frowned as he noticed the woman's red face and her terrible appearance. - "Don't tell me, you have the flu. That's what happens when you stay up too late," Arturo said with a mocking smile. - "Or are you allergic to the dog? If so, there's nothing we can do. The little dog is more important than you, and I intend to keep both of you."
"Why don't you shut up and leave already?" Susan responded angrily.
"And let you die on my sofa? I paid a lot for it, I won't let you die on top of it." Susan was about to protest and complain, but her stomach growled. - "Are you hungry?" It seemed Arturo had a humane side.
Susan's face was pale, still showing traces of the blows she had received. Arturo had disappeared from her sight. The woman just wanted to sleep, and as soon as everything was quiet, she closed her eyes again. Even keeping them open was difficult. Several minutes passed, and Susan seemed to have fallen asleep when she felt something cold placed over her head. The man made her sit up, gave her a pill, and handed her a glass of water. It was clearly a reminder of the way Andrea, her mother-in-law, used to give her the pills.
"Arturo?" Susan wanted to complain, but feeling the damp cloth had also relaxed a large part of her body. She wondered if the man actually cared about her, but before she could think anymore, she had fallen asleep again.
When the young woman opened her eyes again, she already felt much better. Then she saw the elegant masculine figure sitting on the other sofa with his laptop in front of him.
"I figured you would wake up by now. You need to eat something," Arturo pushed his glasses up and looked at the young woman.
"I'm not hungry," Susan said.
"I didn't ask if you were hungry or not. You're going to eat something," Arturo stood up and handed her a bowl of egg noodles. At first, Susan didn't want to eat, but the fragrance was irresistible, so she ate it. And definitely, the taste matched the smell.
"Thank you, and sorry for causing you trouble," Susan looked somewhat shy, and the man didn't say anything else. He didn't bother her either. It seems that if she gets sick more often, they won't be at each other's throats. After eating what she presumed was cooked by one of Arturo's chefs, Susan stood up.
"Are you strong enough to stand?" Arturo seemed to be keeping a close eye on her.
"I want to take a bath," Susan gathered her hair, but before she could react, Arturo picked her up in his arms.
"Arturo, what are you doing?" The young woman panicked as she was lifted by the man.
"I'll carry you to your room, you're so weak, you might roll down the stairs like a ball," Arturo grinned, showing a row of white teeth. Susan didn't pay attention to him. A few seconds later, a spacious room welcomed them. The decoration was beige, highly valuable paintings adorned the walls, a bookshelf was filled with books, a drinks cabinet, and coffee, as well as a small sitting area within the room. It felt more like a small apartment, as it had all the comforts.
"Thank you, Susan. After all, I didn't want to cause any trouble." Arturo had taken care of her, even though the man seemed unbearable.
"Okay," Arturo left the room. Susan was now in a dilemma: she was contemplating using Arturo's clothes. However, when she opened one of the four closets, she found women's clothes, all in her size.
She didn't pay much attention and chose a blue pajama. In fact, most of the clothes were blue and brown. Coincidentally, those were Gabriela's favorite colors, and Arturo also had rows of blue shirts. She believed that even in their clothing, they had a similarity that made them a unique couple.
Susan felt uncomfortable, thinking that she was invading her sister's privacy. But she needed to take a shower. About 15 minutes later, she emerged. Her body was now relaxed. She came across some cream for her visible bruises. The room was fully equipped.
"Wow, Arturo really loves my sister," Susan murmured to herself. After a long time, this seemed to create a small, inexplicable discomfort within her. Susan wanted to quickly eliminate that feeling from within, but at that moment, the door to the room opened, and Arturo's charming and mischievous face came into Susan's field of vision.
"I had nothing to wear, so I used your clothes," Arturo gestured with his hands, indicating her to keep silent. Susan obeyed.
"How do you feel?" the man asked.
"I'm better, thanks for the medicine and food," Susan replied. Just then, someone else entered the room - a small, fluffy and adorable dog. Susan didn't hesitate to pick it up.
"I'll take a bath," Arturo disappeared, leaving his phone on the bed. Meanwhile, Susan showered the puppy with affection, sitting on the bed. At that moment, Arturo's phone received a notification, illuminating the screen.
Sender: Gabriela Content: I miss you and need you.
Susan swallowed hard. She didn't want to invade the man's privacy, but it was inevitable not to see the content of the text message. At the same time, the sound of the shower could be heard, and Susan couldn't help but think about the well-built body of the man. "Come outside, Jack," Susan said, feeling a pain in her chest. She thought that she was becoming a burden in her sister and Arturo's relationship.
