Episode 8

"Where's Ajeng?" Grandma Putri asked as she saw her granddaughter enter the house alone. Ajeng should have been tagging along behind her.

Sean remained silent, continuing to walk inside.

"Sean! Where is Ajeng?" Grandma Putri asked again, her voice raised in alarm. She feared Sean had left his nanny on the street once more, just like he had done with previous caregivers.

The ones before might have made it back to this house safely, but Ajeng? That woman had set foot in Jakarta for the first time today.

"Sean!"

"She was taking too long! So I came home first!"

"Oh God, Sean, what's wrong with waiting? What if something happens to Ajeng?"

"Then just fire her; I don’t need a nanny!"

"Oh God," Grandma Putri touched her trembling chest, unable to muster further anger.

Sean left the scene and headed straight to his room, indifferent to the unfolding events. To him, whatever happened to Grandma Putri or to Ajeng was of no concern.

"DERI!" Grandma Putri yelled out.

Deri rushed over in a flurry.

"Find Ajeng now, immediately go to the place where you left her!"

"Yes, Grandma!" Deri responded and ran out the door without hesitation.

By 1 p.m. Deri had not returned, prompting Grandma Putri to call the driver who, along with Deri, reported that Ajeng was no longer at the location they had left her.

Deri was currently scouring the surroundings but had yet to find any trace of Ajeng.

Grandma Putri slumped into a living room chair, overwhelmed with worry. The only solution she could think of was to seek help from Reza.

Without hesitation, Grandma Putri called her eldest son.

"Hello, Grandma."

"Reza! For the love of God, your son has gone too far. He left Ajeng on the street when returning from school! Deri has been searching but hasn't found her! I don't care, Rez! You need to find Ajeng, come what may! That's final!"

Reza stayed quiet, overwhelmed by the rapid onslaught of his mother’s words.

He could only manage to muster a response with the phone still connected.

"Yes, Grandma, I’ll start looking for Ajeng now."

The call eventually ended.

Reza didn’t take up the search alone but instead, he directed ten of his subordinates to look for the nanny.

Ryan, learning of the situation, immediately approached his brother.

"Ajeng got left by Sean?"

"Mhm."

"Where was she last seen?"

"At Kenanga Food Court."

Ryan was ready to leave.

"Where are you going?" Reza asked.

"To look for Ajeng, of course. The more people searching, the quicker she'll be found, plus the meeting is over, right?"

Reza fell silent.

Ryan then hurriedly left his brother's office, the President Director of PT. Aditama Kingdom.

As evening prayer approached, Ajeng was still missing. Her difficulty being found was not without reason; Ajeng hadn’t stayed put, continuing to move in an effort to find her way home.

She asked everyone she met for directions to the Aditama household.

Despite her aching feet, Ajeng didn't stop. If she did, she feared it would only become harder to find her way back.

Ajeng had no idea that people were already struggling to find her.

"Come on Jeng, keep going, you’re nearly home," the pretty, petite girl muttered to herself. Now the road she was on began to look a bit familiar.

The sky above was turning dark.

She kept walking by the road’s edge.

Reza, who had just been on his way home, spotted Ajeng there.

"Stop, stop the car, please," Reza instructed.
