Episode 16

"Mama misses you so much, my dear," Mona kissed her child's face repeatedly, her eyes shining with emotion. She hugged him tightly, but it didn't diminish her longing at all.

Sean was growing up, so handsome. So much like Reza.

Mona always smiled whenever she thought of their resemblance.

"Let's go in, sweetheart. Mama has prepared lots of food and toys for you." Mona gently invited, caressing her child's face and stroking Sean's head.

Mona stood up and took her child's hand to enter, but then Sean didn't go immediately. Instead, he gestured for his mother to wait.

"I didn't come alone, Ma, I came with Mbak Ajeng." Sean then pulled his nanny to join them.

Mona's smile widened; she had missed her child so much that she had forgotten about Sean's new caretaker.

"Sorry, Ajeng, I forgot about you. Although Sean told me last night that he would come with you."

"No need to apologize, Ma, I'm fine," Ajeng replied, feeling uncomfortable.

However, Ajeng addressing Mona as 'Ma' furrowed Mona's forehead.

How could a servant call her by the same name as her child; Ajeng should refer to her as 'nyonya'.

Meanwhile, Sean, noticing his mother's confusion, smiled.

Before Mona could interrupt Ajeng's address, they arrived in the living room. Sean's toys were neatly lined up there.

The handsome boy immediately cheered with joy upon seeing how much his mama loved him, preparing so many toys for him.

Seeing Sean's happiness clearly reflected on his face made Mona happy too.

"Mbak Ajeng, come here!" Sean enthusiastically called, pulling Ajeng to start playing with the toys.

While Mona sat on the couch, watching, she couldn't help but think about her divorce from Reza.

If only time could be rewound, maybe we wouldn't have to separate like this. Mona thought. But Reza's arrogance made it impossible for her to stay.

"Sean," Mona called softly, making him immediately turn to face her.

Sean ran to her. With Mama Mona, Sean truly behaved well, which made Ajeng feel at ease.

"What is it, Ma?" Sean asked.

Mona then sat Sean on her lap.

"Does Sean want to live with Mama?"

"Of course, I've always wanted to live with Mama since forever," Sean replied quickly. There was nothing he wanted more than this, spending plenty of time with his mother. Sean was truly longing for it. He wanted to be like his other friends, who had complete love and care.

He had been living with his father all this time, and now Sean really wanted to stay with his mother.

"Alright, then, Mama will call Grandma Putri right away," Mona replied.

Sean nodded enthusiastically.

Meanwhile, Ajeng, who was listening to their conversation, suddenly felt her heart racing. She felt a small apocalypse was about to befall her; she didn't know how she could show her face to Grandma Putri.
