Episode 9

Ajeng quickly moved to the side of the road as she noticed a car appearing to stop near her. Fearing abduction, her heart raced at the possibility that it might be a kidnapper's vehicle.

The night had already drawn its dark veil over the deserted street.

So, before the driver could even step out, Ajeng bolted, running swiftly.

She also screamed... "Ahk! Help!" Ajeng shrieked, sprinting haphazardly.

Reza was dumbfounded.

"What in the world is that girl doing?" he said, completely astonished.

"Follow her with the car, I'll call out to her from inside," Reza commanded next.

"Understood, Sir."

The car resumed its chase, quickly catching up to Ajeng, who was still racing ahead. Soon, the vehicle was parallel to the frantic village girl.

Reza, having rolled down his window, called out at once.

"Ajeng!" he shouted a tad loudly.

Startled, Ajeng wondered how this stranger knew her name. She stopped, and the car halted too; Reza quickly emerged to show himself.

"Dad," Ajeng gasped between breaths.

With a rough exhale, Reza sounded relieved.

"Get in the car, we're going home," he urged her.

"Thank goodness..." Ajeng even caressed her chest in relief, grateful that she was safe and not stranded homeless in the city of Jakarta.

By 7 pm, Ajeng had reached home. Reza had already informed Ryan that Ajeng was found and had ordered his staff to halt the search.

Entering the house, Ajeng was met with the embracing arms of Grandma Putri...

"My God, Ajeng!! Thank goodness we found you," Grandma Putri exclaimed anxiously, Ajeng's delicate figure and sweet face made the old woman incredibly worried for her, as if she were her own granddaughter.

Rilly was also there, sighing in relief.

"Let me take you to your room," Rilly said, the beautiful woman immediately taking Ajeng by the hand.

Heading toward the back room.

But Ajeng wasn't ready to return to her room; she needed to see Sean first...

"Miss Rilly—"

"Jeng, just call me 'Sis.'"

"Sorry, Sis, but I want to go to the kitchen first."

"Oh, are you hungry?"

Ajeng just smiled awkwardly. Rilly chuckled softly, then escorted Ajeng, not to her room, but to the kitchen.

Afterwards, Rilly left.

Around 8 pm, having freshened up, Ajeng dashed upstairs. Grandma Putri watched her with gratitude that the girl wasn't traumatized.

The girl even went to see Sean without being asked.

"Grandpa," called out Grandfather Agung.

"What is it?"

"How tall is Ajeng? She's so petite."

"149," Grandma Putri replied matter-of-factly, the information from Ajeng's personal data.

"No wonder she's small," Grandfather Agung remarked, eliciting laughter from Grandma Putri who then playfully smacked his arm.

On the second floor.

Ajeng gently opened Sean's room door. The boy, who was sitting at his study desk, turned to see who it was...

It was Ajeng, smiling at him.

"Good thing you're still up, here's your skewered meatball," Ajeng said, placing a plate of the skewered meatballs Sean had requested on his desk.

Earlier that day, despite the chaos, she had bought them and, just moments ago in the kitchen, she had asked the staff to reheat them. Ajeng could finally deliver the snack to its rightful owner.

Sean was speechless, staring blankly at the skewered meatballs before him.
