Vin was sitting idly waiting for the bus at a stop, on his way to visit Memei, the daughter of Ambar. Coincidentally, Sifa drove by in her car and spotted Vin alone. Sifa promptly pulled over to engage Vin in conversation.
"Where are you off to? Hop in my car, and I'll take you to your destination," Sifa offered, attempting to make conversation and seeking an excuse to travel together.
"No need, I can manage on my own," Vin declined flatly.
Vin knew Sifa was just making small talk to speak with him and he also sensed that Sifa was probably aware of the truth, yet he remained as stubborn and unapologetic as his mother. This was why Vin was truly still upset with her.
"It's better if you go with me, I'll take you wherever you need to go so you won't have to wait for the bus here," Sifa repeated her offer, but Vin remained resolute in his refusal.
"You're better off leaving, don't worry about me or where I'm going, because I can still walk on my own," retorted Vin, turning his face away. Nonetheless, Sifa did not take offense.
Sifa returned to her car and fetched a package, "Here, I know you haven't eaten, take this to fill your growling stomach." Sifa extended the package, containing bread and mineral water she had intentionally bought for Vin.
Vin refused to take it, but Sifa left the package on the bench and promptly departed.

After a lengthy wait, the bus finally arrived, and Vin was able to head to the hospital. Upon arriving, he found Sifa already there. He ignored her, opting to go straight to the ward to see Ambar, but Sifa followed him.
On seeing Ambar looking bewildered, defeated, and utterly wilted, it was clear from her face that she was deeply worried about her daughter lying in the hospital.
"How is your daughter, Ma'am?" asked Vin, causing Ambar to jump and then quickly stand upon seeing the man who had saved her daughter.
"Mr. Vin. Thank you for saving Memei; I am sorry for the misdirected slap, please forgive me," Ambar said, bowing.
"No apologies needed, ma'am. It was a misunderstanding, and I'm fine. Also, I was asking about your daughter's condition, is she getting any better?" Vin inquired while Ambar despondently shook her head.
"Memei's chances of recovery are slim; I don't know if she can hold on. Mr. Vin, please help me save my daughter again, like before. I believe you can do it," pleaded Ambar, clasping her hands together.
Sifa, standing beside Vin and hearing Ambar's plea, couldn't help but intervene.
"Ma'am, I'm sorry, but my husband isn't a healer; what happened before could've been coincidence. Your daughter is in the care of skilled doctors here, so please trust in them," interrupted Sifa, yet Ambar still placed her hopes in Vin for her daughter's healing.
Ambar attempted to take Vin's hand and lead him into the ward to see her daughter, but Sifa blocked her path.
"What are you doing, Ma'am? As I've said, my husband isn't a doctor, and he knows nothing of medicine. I'm afraid if you insist, he might cause more harm to your daughter," Sifa interjected; she didn't want Vin to make a mistake that could make the situation worse.
"Why are you stopping me, Sifa? You said you didn't care about my actions anymore. So why do you seem afraid I'll make a mistake? Have you realized your own faults towards me? This isn't the right time for your complaints. What's wrong with wanting to try? It won't harm you," Vin fired back.
"Are you going to gamble with that child's safety? You don't have any expertise; you could actually make things worse, Vin, don't you realize that?" Sifa voiced her true concern for Vin, fearing he might get into trouble.
"Vin, can you forgive me for how I acted this morning? I didn't mean to drive you away. It was just the tension of the moment. Please forgive me. I really regret it," confessed Sifa, finally mustering the courage to apologize, a sign of genuine remorse that was clearly audible in her tone.
Vin could only sigh, his heart still wounded by Sifa's attitude toward him.
"I'm so disappointed in you, Sifa, because you never believed in me. I have never lied to you, yet you chose to trust others over your always honest husband," Vin expressed, leaving Sifa to repeat her apologies in the hope of receiving Vin's forgiveness.
In the midst of Vin and Sifa's discussion, the doctors attending to Memei rushed into the room, as her heartbeat had suddenly stopped. The doctors worked fervently to save the patient, but eventually, they shook their heads, signifying that Memei could not be saved.
One of the doctors came out to inform Ambar.
"Sorry, ma'am, we've done all we could. Fate has chosen its path; your daughter is beyond our help. The patient has passed away," the doctor informed, causing Ambar to collapse to the floor, overwhelmed by a fear come true.
Ambar, unable to control her sorrow, screamed hysterically upon realizing her daughter was truly gone. All the doctors could do was bow their heads in acceptance that they were unable to save another life.
Upon hearing of Memei's demise, Vin barged into the ICU to confirm her condition with his own eyes, guided by his vision and the assistance of a gemstone.
The spirit of the girl appeared again to Vin, much like when the accident occurred.
"Uncle, please help me. I still want to be with mommy. Please help me," the girl visible only to Vin, pleaded.
"Alright, I will try to help you reunite with your body," Vin murmured to himself.
Vin perceived through his vision that Memei had suffered a cardiac failure that had stopped her breathing.
"Let me try to save her," Vin declared, stunning everyone who heard him, except for Ambar, who consented and allowed Vin to proceed.
Vin then approached the girl lying lifelessly on the bed.
