Dom ushered Vin into the room. Without waiting for permission, Vin took a seat in Dom's impressive chair, swiftly grabbing some grapes from the table and munching on them. With a casual air, Vin propped his feet up on the table as if he were the one in charge. Every so often, he tossed grapes in Dom's direction, unchallenged.
Meanwhile, Dom, who had the capability to stand and bow, submitted to Vin's behavior towards him.
"Why don't you fight back, uncle? Isn't what I'm doing a sure insult to the famed uncle Dom known for his ferocity, suddenly appearing like a domesticated cat, as if a lion can easily be reduced to a household pet?" Vin taunted.
"Forgive me, Master Vin, uncle promises never to repeat this. Uncle is ready to serve under Master Vin and will assist you should any problems arise," Dom tried to make an offer.
"An interesting proposal. A Dominic yielding to Vindra," Vin sneered, indicating his own identity and that no one else could oppress him any longer.
"Master Vin, aren't you looking for Martin and Regina? Right now, they and the others are running away like cowards," Dom mentioned.
"Running away! Let them be, I am not targeting them just yet," Vin responded casually, returning to his apple.
"Just so you know, Martin's life won't last much longer. I just want to see how far he can run because eventually, he will die from the cancer that's consuming him. And Regina, will she stay loyal by Martin's side as he dwindles away, or will she abandon him? Intriguing story, right uncle? I can hardly wait to see how it ends," said Vin, leaving Dom bewildered as to how Vin was privy to such details about Martin.
"Umm, no need for further ado, uncle, I actually came here just to collect a debt, not to cause trouble. But it seems you prefer a warm welcome over settling your debt promptly. Better you pay your debt now, or I'll make sure you can't even move," Vin said as he rocked the chair.
"Ye-yes, alright, just wait a moment," Dom quickly retrieved a check and filled it out with the owed amount of two hundred million.
"Here is a two hundred million check. And this is ten million for an upfront payment," Dom said, handing over the check and cash to Vin with trembling hands. Vin accepted it promptly, as that was his reason for visiting Dom.
"Thank you, uncle. If only you had paid up from the start, maybe you wouldn't have had to experience any pain.
Dom then took something from the drawer and offered a gift to Vin – a latest model Rolex watch, which Vin refused.
"I don't need this, uncle, I don't like wearing watches. You better keep it," Vin declined.
"No, sir, please accept this small token from your uncle, please don't refuse. Consider it a memento from your uncle and also a thank you for Master Vin sparing your uncle's life," Dom pleaded for Vin to accept it.
"Okay, uncle, I'll take it. Oh, and before I leave, I just wanted to warn you to be careful; otherwise, there might be bloodshed soon," Vin disclosed and then left abruptly.
Dom merely grimaced at Vin's warning, deeming it a mockery since he was easily subdued.
After Vin left, Dom intended to go to the hospital for medical treatment, but carelessly slipped and fell flat.
"Aaarrgggghhhh." Dom grimaced in pain from his back and head and, unbeknownst to him at that instant, the chandelier directly above shudderingly collapsed onto him. Ultimately, Dom's body was filled with piercing glass shards that wounded him.
"Is this what Master Vin meant? Aaarrgggghhhh," Dom murmured, brooding over Vin's words before losing consciousness.
Before returning home to his wife, Vin stopped by his foster mother's house, planning to deliver the check he held the following morning. Besides, Vin's only reason for visiting his mother's house was to keep a promise to his wife.
"Ma, open up, Vin's back," he called as he knocked on the door, and then Ningrum opened it, finding her son returning with a slightly bruised face.
"Vin, why are you coming to mom's house at this late hour, and what happened to your face? Did you get into a fight?" Ningrum asked, noticing her son's unusual state.
"Mom, can I sleep here tonight?" Vin inquired, and Ningrum smiled in response, ushering Vin into the house. She immediately prepared some hot tea and fetched a compress to soothe Vin's bruised face.
"Mom, I want to divorce Sifa," Vin confessed, and Ningrum stopped compressing his face.
"Why, son? Is there a problem?" Ningrum asked, surprised, as Vin had never discussed his family issues with her before.
"No, Mom, I can't take it anymore, enduring the insults from my mother-in-law and Sifa's indifference. No matter how hard I try to be a good husband, it seems like I'm not being valued as one, Mom. I can't hold on any longer. No man could withstand what I've been going through," Vin explained.
"Have you thought this through thoroughly, Vin? Didn't you tell mom that Sifa was the little girl who completed you, and you yourself promised to protect her no matter what? I don't mean to deny you, but have you considered this carefully?" she inquired.
"That's the thing, Mom, I don't want Sifa to suffer because of me. It's better to let her go than to hurt seeing her suffer. Right now, Mom is the only person I can turn to; please support Vin, give me strength," Vin then laid his head in Ningrum's lap. Although Ningrum was not Vin's biological mother, she was always there for him and always supportive.
"Yes, son, whatever your decision, mom will always be here to support you, if it's truly the best for my child. Now rest, you seem very tired," Ningrum said, and Vin nodded.
Vin closed his eyes, and Ningrum tenderly stroked his son's hair with love.
