The truth & The Dare..

" Ahhhh ...let me think first… .hmm…  we … we should play truth and dare … !!!!! " 

yup…. We will play truth and dare… .what's say Sel….." 

" Haaaahh ….  Truth or dare….. Really…..  Okkkkk….. but ... then fine ...we will play truth or dare….. " wanting to say  a straight no but all she could do was agree coz she don't want to offend Millie coz she knows she is kinda moody , so she agreed. 

" then Sel, come and get me an empty  bottle ," said hurriedly by getting off the bed.  " OK, I will find one for you ...you just wait here… " 

" OK I have found one, here's Millie…. Let's play… ." Selfound the one from the store behind. " 

 " OK ... let's play then, " being overly excited. 

Got sit down facing each other, Rolled down the bottle , on the floor and with the swish sound of bottle,  it got stirred up . With the swing of the bottle, it created an enthusiasm in both of them ; Millie as usual and Sel though she was scared a bit inside but also got some excitement in hers…..

Millie excitedly said, " Selit would be you, believe me,  it definitely would be you. "

Finally, The bottle got stopped and guess what it pointed towards Sel…

Yeah , look SeI ,  I have told you, now it is you, so what do you want to choose Truth or Dare….. !!!!!! 

" why it is me for the first all the time… ..it is not fair…. "  OK I will choose one…. I've chosen truth… " 

" it's not fair Sel,  you always chose truth, you chose dare this time. " 

" I like to choose truth…. It is my favorite… I will choose the truth… it is no matter with you… " 

"you remember….. Once that we played truth or dare with our school friends on a school trip to the southern island , sophie ( a classmate of them)  ,she chose to be dared when forced by all the friends and she got tricked and got sent to that " haunted house" in our village near the forest. 

               Later she got lost in that house when they locked her inside. I remember she was scared so much… and crying continuously  … ."

" yup I remember , but , you also remember that when we played truth or dare with our classmates during school trip ,and you had  chosen the truth and how much they forced you but you stayed firm . Now you have to choose the Dare…come on… " 

" No… why do I… I like it… I will choose it… I know when I will choose dare you are gonna give me something hard that I would be impossible for me… " 

" I would not do that…. Okay.. You think so much… come on you chose one and I will give you something easier… fine… then.. "

" you sure… otherwise I am not gonna do it…. 

So I choose dare then… " 

" Yeah…. You chose dare… now let me think about what to give to you… hmm….. OK you go and get me a glass of water…. " 

" okay… that is easy… you wait I'll get you in a minute… "

*she gets her a glass of water… 

" here, your water… " 

" see that was cool right… .isn't it Sel…" 

" ya… .that was easy….. now it is your turn...let's spin the bottle then…."  Sel hurriedly said.

It comes again on Sel. " Sel you got the luck today , see you got the chance here again ," Millie said while drinking the water Sel bought for her. 

Speechless being come again on her, she made a disappointed face and said, " how is it me again. I do not want to play this game anymore huh.. " 

" come on, Sel chose, truth or dare, let's see how brave you can be… " 

Being known that Millie gave her a simple task of bringing a glass of water, she was encouraged and thought that it would be easy for her now too. She says, " I am a brave and confident girl ,okay, I chose the dare. " 

" Okayyyyy….. So you think you are that brave huh… let me check it then or I will not believe, you have to go and touch the tree on the other side of the river and come back. " 

" What….. Which tree… on the other side of the river… you mean the one in that abandoned forest. No way… I would not go…  never…. ." 

" come on, Sel, you said that you are a brave and confident girl just now and now you are saying you would not go… why are you hesitating huh… . Are you scared? "

" no, I am not scared but mom would not allow me to go there,  you know right, she has always told me to not go there towards the forest area…. Right… ." 

" Right … I know my mom has told me so too but it is just that he go and come back in a minute… it is a matter of a few minutes and believe me… nothing will happen. Okay…and no one will know about it okay….." 

" No, you have heard people talking about different things and telling different stories about that forest area and we have never been there at all…..its not good and it's not safe at all…. You give me another thing to do like previously… I will do it right now… ." 

" Come on,  Sel, I never knew you could be so afraid ...when  we will complete the lunch, we will go there… don't say no just like without trying… I will go with you… "

Millie said, by being eager herself than Selto go in the forest. 

" no, I would not go, I said that I would not…"

" then I will not talk with you ever….. If you did not fulfill your promise . " 

" Don't you say like this….. I ….." 

Their conversation was going up in line then the sound of mom came up , " the lunch is ready… you can come down stairs… "

" Let's go, the lunch is ready ," Sel said in an ignoring tone. 

Millie looks at her in a disappointing gaze….

" Let's go, mom is calling us ," Sel  said in an ignoring tone , but inside she was deeply nervous .

As they heard the mom , they soon started to prepare to go down. 

Sel  was happy that mom called them , at the right time , because in this way , she was saved from Millie , as she was trying continuously to convince her to go into the woods… 

It was not that she was not a brave girl or she is scared of these kinds of things but since childhood she was told to stay away from that forest and being told to not go near that river …. 

             And Numerous creepy stories of different kinds and of different people have left a strong lasting effect on her mind and that she has created an image of her own in her mind about that place … that was never easy to break… .. and that's strongly rooted…..🌳 

" Let's not talk about this now okay, it is of no use , Do you know what would mom do,  if she finds out we even thought about going to that forest , Millie… " Sel said in an ordering way to let Millie believe that she is not going to that area. 

" It is not fair Sel , okay the dare came on you and you even chose the dare yourself and now you are denying like this…. I would have never done this okay if it had came on me… , completed her saying with a " huh " expression. 

Sel  did not responded to this at all. Underneath she was very nervous and did not want to go. So she pretended like she has moved ahead and did not listen at all. 

    She came to the dining area and tried to not pay attention to Millie coz she knew she would be trying to convince her and that she does not want. 

" let me  come and help, mom, " Sel  said without even when her mother called for help for her. 

   She started pretending to help her mother in the kitchen so as to avoid Millie ( Rude ). 

She went to the kitchen and started helping her mom with the cutlery and preparing for the serving of the dishes. 

     Bringing down the plates and dishes her mom prepared and placing them on the table , she helped in all so as she could escape from the harsh eyes of Millie. 

     Finally they set up all and can begin to eat lunch. " Thank you so much aunty ,  to prepare so many tasty dishes for us, " Millie said . 

" Your welcome , now sit down and start eating. By the way,  what were you guys doing up there, your voices could be heard to the finest corners of the kitchen. What were you arguing about. 

" Nothing  mom , Sel said without even thinking about once. We were discussing just nothing. It is just some school talks and all. " 

Millie, " yes aunty, we were just playing and talking simply.  How could we just argue, you know that we never fight. We are best friends. " 🤞

" Hmm… I know… .you start  eating your lunch now …" she said in an even tone.

They started the lunch together…..

" Yup ," they all started eating lunch now. 

It was raining  ☔ , a little outside . The three of them , sit to have the lunch . In a serene environment  , in a serene place , within a peaceful town , who could have thought that things are not what they actually seems …..  but there is an illusion of transparency… which is only visible to the one who's destined. 

What is it …..  A peaceful illusion or an uncalm reality …..
