Origami Festival.. Part 1)

It is a new day and a new beginning and the day of Origami Paper Festival.

There were apparently many decorations among the city.Paper fringes were placed all over the streets. 

Sel was in deep sleep...still due to the late night unrest.

 Everyone was in a great amuse and enthusiasm that day despite the haunting atmosphere in the town. 

People were preparing to go to the carnival and some were still in the preparations of their houses and streets. 

Some were planting new flowers plants in their homes.Children were playing with their self prepared paper crafts. 

It was a great atmosphere today on the very early morning.

Sel 's mom is also quite busy in the morning and so the other ladies.She went upstairs to see Sel to wake her up and help her out in preparing for the festival. 

She won't do everything on her own and can not let her slept like this anymore. 

She knocked on the door and shouted to wake her up, "Sel,get up.today is an important day.Come on, get up now."

Sel was half asleep after her mom woke her up. She rubbed her eyes off and dodging the light to fall into the eye. She was still tired after getting disturbed in her dreams. 

She got up tirelessly and looked thoughtlessly at the clock outside the window. There was colourful fringes dangled up all over the town. 

She remembered that it's origami festival today and why her mom was calling her up at this hour. She could not less forget about the dream she had last night. 

And That did turned all her memories on. She grabbed her clothes and made her way to get a shower. She knew that her friends would also be waiting for her and she has to be quick. 

She dressed up earlier than before and straight went out to meet her mother. Her mom was in the kitchen and starting the preparations to make the dishes. Sel went to the kitchen and found Ming sitting up along with her mother. 

She said, "Mom,I am up.Good Morning." 

"Good morning. You stay up late yesterday night."she asked. 

"Ahh...no mom, not really I was just over sleeping these past few days."she said. 

Sel wants to hide the thing about the dream as it would be just considered as a common nightmare. And might be made fun of. 

She did not want to consider any one opinion now and wanted to find her answers herself. If there was any meaning truth lying in the matter she will make her way to get truth herself. And wanted proofs to prove her doubts right. 

She did not know how to do it but she will do it herself that was just sure. 

"Sel, come and help me with these vegetables. Cut them off. I will make the curries by then."she said. 

Ming was sitting besides them and eating a raw piece of veggie her mom gave her. 

"Mom,I have to go to the festival with some of my friends.Is that fine that I go with Millie?" Sel asked. 

"You did not tell me before that you made a plan of going out with your friends ?"she asked again.

"Ehmm...mom it was Millie who insisted on going there and our school friends are also joining so..."

"It's fine. I knew that Millie would not let you stay at home at such an occasion. I was right indeed"She laughed slightly. 

"it's fine. You can go. But do not forget to come home on time and not stay there for much longer.Understood."she said diligently. 

"Yeah...right mom.sel replied cheerfully as she was delighted to know that her mom did not obstructed much and let her go. 

"Mom,I am done with the veggies."I am going now." she said. 

"Wait! Wait till the food is ready. Take some with you, for your friends are coming too." her mom said. 

"Okay. Thank you mom." 

It was a good day today and Sel was much more delighted as her mom is in a great mood today. Anyone would be. 

But as long as her mind goes off towards the other things she can not let herself stop from going into her deep imaginations. 

Suddenly as she sit on the chair and thought about her dream and the voice that keep calling her...she could not stop herself from worry less. 

All she wanted was the answers to all of the questions that keep on raising in her mind from the past few days. 

And when she realised that why the voice in her dreams seemed so familiar to her...intensity of her curiosity scaled a new high. 

She thought,"Who was the person I saw in my dream? 

"Was that my imagination too? "

"His voice seemed to be quite familiar to me..."

"Is this all arising due to the fact that I am paying much more attention to try rumours in the town." 

She was deliberately lost in her thoughts. and that's when the door bell of their home rung up. 

"Look Sel,who is there so early..."her mom said. 

"I take the door." Sel said. 

She went to look for her door and open up to see Millie standing up right there. 

"Millie, you are... Why so early." Sel said. 

"I knew that you might come up late so I myself came to pick you up. Millie said. 

"Let's go."she said. 

"wait, mom is there. We have to also her first. 

"you did not asked her yet that we would go to the festival today."

"I did. And she agreed too. But mom is preparing breakfast. We should wait and then we would leave together. 

"Oh...that's fine. Let me meet aunty yhen." Mollie excitingly went to meet Sel's mom. 

"Good morning aunty." 

"Oh...it's you I should have known that it could only be you so early."she said. 

"Oh... Yes aunty. It's me. I came to pick Sel up. 

"The food is ready. You guys eat here and take some with you too. Okay, for your friends too. 

"Okay aunty. Thank you so much."

After the hurried breakfast * 

"Okay bye, mom, we are leaving." Sel said.

They went down the road to meet the others waiting for them. 

It is southwest down at the stadium situated in the city,where the festival is at.And somewhat outside the town.

Millie is wearing her bright yellow dress, with the same beads shining on it, as her smile. ☺☺☺☺☺

It is believed that one should not walk around late at night after the town festivals, with wearing shiny clothes on, as that it attracts the dark spirits along. Especially for the girls of the town. 

Sel also wearing her closest and favorite Red dress,with her hair curled up in a ponytail, complimenting her natural looks. 

It is cute and simple to attract any eyes. 

They decided to meet the other friends and Henry outside the bookstore street.So that they can leave together for it.. Sel and Millie reached up the store early and waited for them. The whole store is crafted in different frills too and that was magnificent.

Sel,"look Millie the store is decorated beautifully. Isn't it ? " 

"Yeah..it's beautiful. It must be done by Lara." Millie said. 

"By the way, where is she? "

"I don't know I did not see her. "Sel said. 

"She must be busy decorating the other places in the store. Let's take a look where she is actually." 

It was around nine in the morning, when Sel and Millie reached the store for the origami carnival. 

There must be excitement and enthusiasm in every person in the town but that does not mean that they were unaware by the warnings and uneasiness going on in the town with them. 

Sel and Millie started looking for Lara everywhere in the store. 

"Sel, you look over there, maybe she is in that corner behind the book shelf."Millie said. 

"Okay, fine." Sel replied. 

They started searching for her...and went to every little corner to search for her... 

They were busy in finding Lara and meanwhile Henry and others arrived at the store. 

They were looking for them as they entered the store.

"Hey Abigail, did you see Sel and Millie before? I think that they have not come yet." 

"I don't know.I have not seen them." Abigail replied. 

"Oh..i see." Henry replied. 

"Let's wait for them here.".

Sel was looking for her in the back corners of the store...just then she heard some noise from behind the shelves...

She went there to check as it might be Lara doing something there...

She went to see who's there and it was Lara standing holding a book and impatiently...

She asked,"Lara what are you doing here ?"

"we are searching for you everywhere in the store and you are here...what are you doing here?"

Lara," Ah..Sel, you are here,why are you here...so early morning "

"We are going to the festival...so we decided to gather here...at your store..."

"Ohh..."

"what are you reading so quietly.."

"Ahm...nothing it's just something that I like...nothing special..."

"Ohh...i see..."

Sel turned to leave and said,"okay I must tell Millie first ..."

"Sel,wait, I wanted to ask you something..."

Sel stopped and looked at Lara who was looking kinda weird with her expressions...

"What's it,Lara.You look stressful."

"Ah... No its just that I am thinking about the strange things happening and the behavior of the people in the town...So I just wanted to ask You about it..."

"What's it,you can ask me?" 

"It's just that if you have ever felt that someone is chasing you or that you have heard anyone..."

"Chasing...Ahh...No...why are you asking these kind of things now..."

"Just answer me if you have felt like this..."

"um...no not like chasing me...never as for hearing….i don't know...."

"Sel don't be shy...or nervous...i know you were much troubled that day and you did not tell me..."

"Maybe I'm not sure" Sel wanted to tell her about everything but she didn't want to create more confusion among this all. 

"By the way, what are you reading..."Sel asked and look out for the book in Lara's hands.

"It's...its...just nothing..." and she hides the book. 

The other side, was Millie rushed into Henry and others friends.

Henry, "Millie, we were looking for you we thought you did not arrive yet...where is Sel?"

Millie, "we just arrived too" 

"Sel,Sel just went to see Lara"

"Oh...That's right...here she is..."Henry says.

Sel and Lara both come out to see everyone. 

"Lara,where were you ? I was searching the whole book store..."Millie asked. 

"I was just at the back seeing some old books..."she said.

"So, you guys are going to the festival." Lara asked.

"Henry,"yess...Lara you come with us too."

"Ahh,No,You guys just go..."

"But why Lara," Millie asked. 

"I have to keep the store.So I can't come. Ugh..you guys just go and enjoy. And be careful too. Remember to be back before dark,Okay." Lara said.

"We know... Lara..we are not kids any more..."Henry said. 

And genuine those kids...leaves for the carnival.But there was something that Lara was hiding and so was Sel. 

They both knew that they have their things hidden in the hearts. 

And the face of Lara went on from glad to blurry as they all left. 

She went again to the book shelf and grabbed the one she was reading before…
