Leonard woke up, saw Isabella sleeping, and left her be. He showered and headed downstairs for breakfast.

"My son, when did you come back?" Mrs. Smith asked, embracing him warmly.

"I came back last night," Leonard replied.

Cassie came over and hugged him, showcasing her bruises. "Hey big bro, look what your crazy wife did to me!"

Grandma Smith intervened, "Cassie, you started it. Where's Isabella?"

"She's still sleeping," Leonard said, taking a seat at the table.

He devoured his breakfast, indifferent to Isabella's whereabouts. After finishing, he headed straight to work.

As the day wore on, Grandma Smith and Maggie grew concerned. "Is Isabella still asleep?" Maggie asked.

The nurse came to inform the Smiths that Isabella had woken up and they went to the ward, she was lying in the bed crying." Why did you kill my great grand child, why Isabella,why" grandma shook Isabella who was in pain. " I promise I didn't, Leo gave me a pill, he said it was an ablation pill" she said and she misspelled the word abortion because she didn't know what it was, it was the first time she heard the word." Stop lying, my Leo is a great son, he will neve do that" grandma shouted." I promise I don't know what that is, if I knew I would have stopped it" Isabella was crying. " Mother this girl is cunning she will do anything to manipulate us, it is clear that she wanted to kill our grandchild" mrs Smith said, " Everyone stop..." Mr Smith was interrupted by the police." Good afternoon everyone, we are here to investigate and ask Isabella Smith questions " one detective said." What is wrong, detective " Mr Smith asked as everyone was shocked." Mr Smith, we got a call from the hospital saying that your daughter is being abused" the detective said," that is bullshit detective,my brother won't do that, this just wants to ruin my family reputation, the person who is supposed to be arrested is here, yesterday she threatened to kill" Cassie said with an attitude." I think you should leave us with her" detective said. Everyone left leaving Isabella with the police and she spoke to her and got her statement. She told the police how Leo hit her, how she raped her not once but twice, how he gave her a pill to kill her baby and the detective asked if she did know that the pill will kill her child but she said know, actually Isabella is uneducated, she doesn't know much about female reproductions because she left school in the sixth grade after her parents died,her uncle David didn't allow her to attend where they were not taught about abortions, all she knows if a boy and a girl have sex she will get pregnant,all things about contraception and abortion was a new thing to her, that why when she saw that she was bleeding, she thought she is going to have her menstruation cycle. She thought that even if she is pregnant she will get her periods. The police officer left the ward and Leo was there at the hospital." Mr Smith can you are under arrested for rape, abuse of your wife Isabella Smith and murder of her unborn baby, and you may remain silent and everything you have may be said in the court of law, you may call your lawyer or the state will give you one" The police handcuffed Leo and his tried to stop it but police left with him." You see John what you have done by bringing that girl" Mrs Smith was hitting her husband while crying." That bitch got my brother arrested, don't worry mom I will call our lawyer, just take grandma home, dad and I will go to the police station " Cassie said as she left but her dad didn't follow her. He knows that Leo is capable of hitting Isabella. Leo had hatred for women since the day his ex wife whom he loved so much left him at the altar and one day when he was drunk after hitting a lady he confessed to him that women are meant to be beaten up and abused. His son is a monster and he can't support a monster.

"Yes, she must be exhausted. Plus, her husband came back yesterday, so maybe they were... busy all night," Grandma Smith reassured her.

But as the hours ticked by, Isabella remained unresponsive. Grandma Smith's worry deepened, and she went to search for her. She wasn't in the bedroom, but Grandma Smith found her on the wet balcony floor, bleeding.

Panicked, Grandma Smith summoned everyone. Jonathan carefully carried Isabella to the car, and they rushed her to the hospital.

Upon arrival, the doctor hurried to examine Isabella. Grandma Smith, Maggie, and Jonathan anxiously waited, while Cassie and her mother seemed unconcerned.

"Please call Leo and tell him that his wife is in the hospital," Grandma Smith urged.

"But Grandma, there's no need. Leo is busy," Cassie replied.

Grandma Smith's expression turned stern. "His work is not more important than his wife and child."

Jonathan intervened, "Don't worry, I'll call him and Dad." He stepped outside to make the call. However, Leo didn't answer, but Mr. Smith arrived promptly.

"How is she?" Mr. Smith asked, worry etched on his face.

"The doctors are with her. I'll go check," Jonathan said, heading toward the ward. Grandma Smith grasped his hand, her eyes pleading.

"Please, tell them to save the baby," she sobbed.

Jonathan entered the surgery room, where Isabella lay connected to machines. The doctors were busy operating on her.

"How is she?" Jonathan asked.

"She's stable. I'm closing her up," the doctor replied.

"What about the baby?" Jonathan inquired.

The doctor's expression turned somber. "Bro, with that much blood, the baby didn't survive." Jonathan's eyes welled up with tears.

"What caused it?" he asked.

"She ingested misoprostol," the doctor explained. "An abortion pill. But that's not all – we found severe injuries on her body. Four broken bones, bruises on her neck... it's clear someone hit her."

Jonathan's face contorted in shock and disgust. "You're saying my brother did this to her? That he's been hitting her?"

The doctor nodded grimly. "It appears so."

Jonathan's anger boiled over. "She wouldn't have taken those pills willingly. Leo must have given them to her. Yesterday, she fought with Cassie after Cassie said her baby should die... it all makes sense now."

The doctor finished his explanation, and the nurses wheeled Isabella to a private ward.

"How is she?" Mr. and Grandma Smith asked the doctor, their faces etched with worry.

"Dad, Grandma, Isabella is okay, but she lost the baby," Jonathan said, tears streaming down his face. Grandma Smith burst into tears, and Maggie followed suit. However, Cassie and her mother seemed unmoved, their faces twisted into cruel smiles.

"What happened?" Grandma Smith sobbed.

"Mrs. Smith, your daughter-in-law ingested misoprostol, an abortion pill," the doctor explained, his words shocking the family.

Grandma Smith's eyes widened in horror. "Doctor, what did you say?" she screamed.

The doctor repeated his explanation, and Grandma Smith's face contorted in anger. "How could she kill her own child? Why would she commit such a sinful act?"

Mrs. Smith comforted Grandma, her voice laced with venom. "I always knew that girl was crazy. She's always causing trouble."

Grandma Smith's anger boiled over. "She's evil!"

Jonathan intervened, his voice calm but firm. "No, Grandma, it's not her fault. It's Leo's fault."

Grandma and Mrs. Smith turned to him, their faces were incredulous. "What do you mean? Why would you say that?" they asked in unison.

Jonathan's eyes locked onto theirs. "Leonard is abusing Isabella."

Mrs. Smith's hand flew across Jonathan's face, her slap echoing through the room. "How dare you! That ugly woman must made your turn against your brother. Leonard would never lay a hand on her!"
