A Big Day With A Big Secret

AUTHOR'S POV

A week had passed since the humiliating incident, and Isabella's disdain for Leo had only intensified. Today was the day of Kayla's wedding, and the King's Mansion was abuzz with activity. Decorators scurried about, paparazzi swarmed outside, and the air was electric with excitement.

But amidst the chaos, Isabella's thoughts were with Kayla. She made her way to Kayla's bedroom, where she found her cousin sobbing uncontrollably.

"What's wrong?" Isabella asked, a worry etched on her face.

Kayla held up a pregnancy test, and Isabella's eyes widened in shock. "Is this...?" she trailed off, her voice barely above a whisper.

Kayla nodded, tears streaming down her face. Isabella enveloped her in a warm hug.

"This is a sign," Kayla whispered, her voice trembling. "A sign that I'm meant to be with Mike, not Leo."

Isabella's eyes locked onto Kayla's. "Does Mike know?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

IN SMITH MANSION

Leonard sat in his office, nursing a glass of whiskey. His eyes gazed out the window, his mind consumed by the impending marriage. He is devastated about the wedding since he has a trauma about his past marriage.

To Leonard, women were nothing more than objects to be used and discarded. He viewed them as manipulative and deceitful, unworthy of trust. The only women he spared from this contempt were those within his own family.

Now, he was about to entangle himself with a woman he considered a "slut," a woman who would be nothing more than a temporary fixture in his life. The thought of this two-year arrangement was suffocating, a constant reminder of the miserable fate that awaited him. He is doing this because his father has laid down an ultimatum: marry and produce an heir, or risk being disinherited and stripped of his business empire. The prospect of losing his companies, his life's passion, was unbearable. To Leonard, his businesses were his children, his legacy. He would rather suffer the indignity of marriage than losing his businesses.

Julie entered her son's office, concern etched on her face. "Son, you're not ready," she said, eyeing Leonard's focused expression.

Leonard didn't look up, his fingers flying across the keyboard. "Mom, I have a lot of work to do," he replied, taking a sip of his drink.

Julie stepped closer, her voice firm but gentle. "Leo, your work can wait. This is your day. You need to get ready. We're running late."

She closed Leonard's laptop, and he finally looked up, a hint of irritation in his eyes. With a sigh, he pushed back his chair and stood up, striding towards his bedroom to prepare for the ceremony.

As he showered and dressed, Leonard's attire reflected his wealth and status. He wore an exquisite black suit designed by his sister, adorned with a 55 million Graff Diamonds watch, and his 19 million black Louis Vuitton shoes that cost a staggering Here's a rewritten version:

Leonard descended the stairs, his family gathered in the foyer, awaiting his arrival. His grandmother, Ruth Smith, beamed with pride, her eyes shining with tears.

"Look at my handsome grandson!" she exclaimed, pulling Leonard into a warm embrace, her lips brushing against his cheeks.

Leonard's brother, Johnathan, clapped him on the back, a broad grin spreading across his face. "I can't believe my little brother is getting married!" he said, pulling Leonard into a hearty bro hug.

Leonard's expression remained stern, his anger and frustration simmering just below the surface. "We can go," he growled, his voice low and menacing, eager to get the ceremony over with.
