LEONARD'S POV
My phone rang, shrill and insistent, pulling me out of a deep sleep. I groggily reached for it, seeing Cassie's name flashing on the screen. I tried to ignore it, but she kept calling, refusing to give up.
"Leave me alone, Cassie," I growled, my anger simmering just below the surface. "Don't you have a club to go to or something?"
Cassie's voice was shrill and tearful on the other end of the line. "How can I go to a club when your wife almost killed me?" she sobbed, her words tumbling out in a jumbled mess.
I sat up, rubbing my eyes. "Stop crying, Cassie. I can barely hear you."
Cassie's sobs subsided, and she spoke in a quavering voice. "Your stupid wife fought with me. She was punching me, slapping me... and she threatened to kill me."
I knew Cassie was to blame. Isabella wouldn't attack without provocation. "What did you do, Cassie?" I asked, my tone firm.
Cassie's voice dropped to a whisper. "I said her child must die... since we can't have ugly babies carrying our family name."
Her words made my blood boil. What did you say" I asked. " Ooh, your wife is pregnant" she said and what she said made me angry, how come that bitch became pregnant, she doesn't take the morning pills I give her, I always knew that she is up to something.
I ended the call, slamming my phone against the wall. Megan, who had been sleeping beside me, woke up with a start.
"Babe, what's wrong?" she asked, concern etched on her face.
I glared at her, my anger still simmering. "It's nothing, baby girl. Just pack our bags. I need to go home. My family needs me."
Megan's face fell, but she nodded. "But why?" she asked, her voice tinged with disappointment.
I forced a smile. "I have an important issue to fix, darling. But I promise, once it's done, we'll come back."
Megan's eyes narrowed. "Is it about your wife?" she asked, her tone acidic.
I nodded. "Soon, darling. Very soon."
I kissed her, trying to placate her, but my mind was already racing with thoughts of that stupid bitch Isabella, I could feel my blood boiling when I think of her, she can make me angry.
I arrived home at nine, the darkness of the night mirroring my mood. Everyone was asleep, unaware of my sudden return. I had planned to stay away for another week, but Isabella's antics had cut my vacation short.
That woman was a constant thorn in my side. Her behavior had almost cost me the deal with Megan's father, and I was still fuming about it. The entire flight back, Megan had been angry, barely speaking to me. When I dropped her off, she had stormed out of the car without so much as a goodbye kiss.
I didn't care, though. I was just days away from dumping Isabella and claiming her father's company. The thought brought a smirk to my face.
As I entered my bedroom, I was met with a surprise. Isabella was fast asleep on my bed, her peaceful expression a stark contrast to the anger simmering within me.
How dare she? I had explicitly told her not to enter my room, and yet she had deliberately disobeyed me.
My anger boiled over, and I strode out of the room, returning with buckets of ice. I hurled them at Isabella, the cold water shocking her awake.
She sat up with a start, her eyes wide with fear. I glared at her, my chest heaving with anger. "You dare to disobey me?" I spat, my voice low and menacing.
"Leo, you're back," Isabella said, trying to calm me down. "I just slept here because I couldn't get comfortable, and I needed to rest for our child's sake."
But her sweet face didn't fool me. I was still seething with anger.
"You know exactly what I said about sleeping on my bed," I spat, my hand flying across her face in a sharp slap. Isabella fell back onto the bed, staring up at me with fear-filled eyes.
"And why did you threaten my sister?" I growled, climbing onto the bed and pinning her down. I strangled her, cutting off her air supply.
"You know what comes first? My family and business. You fight my sister, you fight me. You ruin my business, you ruin me. And you've done both," I hissed, my gun glinting in the dim light.
Isabella's eyes widened in terror as I pointed the gun at her. "Please, don't...do that," she begged, tears streaming down her face. "I'm pregnant with your child, please."
But I was unmoved. "You think that'll scare me? That thing you're carrying won't even make it into this world," I sneered, tossing the abortion pills at her.
"What is this?" she asked, her voice trembling.
"Abortion pills," I replied, my voice cold and menacing.
Isabella's eyes widened in horror. "What is abortion?" she asked, pretending ignorance.
My anger boiled over. "Take the pill, and you'll find out," I snarled, my voice dripping with malice.
"I won't," Isabella said, her voice firm despite the fear in her eyes.
"Okay, lovely wife. Your soul may rest in peace," I said, my voice dripping with malice as I pointed the gun at her head. Isabella's body shook violently.
"Please don't kill me, I beg you," she pleaded, her voice cracking.
I sneered. "Here's your chance. Take the pills."
Isabella hesitated for a moment before snatching the pills and swallowing them. I watched her closely, ensuring she didn't try to deceive me.
I checked her mouth, making sure she had indeed swallowed the pills. Only then did I lower the gun, a cold satisfaction spreading through me.
"Get out of my bed and go where you sleep," I said, throwing her blanket at her. Isabella retreated to the balcony, her eyes welling up with tears.
I took a shower, and when I returned, I saw Isabella lying on the floor, crying uncontrollably. Her stomach was churning, and I could see the pain etched on her face. I assumed the pill was working its way through her system.
I didn't care. She deserved it. In my opinion, every woman deserved any pain they got.
ISABELLA'S POV
I clutched my stomach, writhing in agony. I thought it was just period pains, but this time it was excruciating. I saw blood on my pants and tried to stand, but my body felt like lead.
I attempted to call out to Leonard, but he ignored me, his face twisted into an evil smirk. He turned off the light and went to bed, leaving me to suffer alone on the cold balcony.
The rain started pouring down, soaking through my blanket. I knocked on the door, pleading for Leonard to open it, but he refused. I was shivering, my body racked with pain.
As the thunderstorm raged on, I cried out to God, praying for strength. The thunder boomed, and I felt my soul slipping away, my body battered by the relentless rain.
