Episode 18

Valentina remains silent in the Williams mansion due to the question Alexander asked her. She doesn't even understand why she can't speak and tell him her real reason for requesting those three months. "Speak!" Alexander growls as Valentina remains wordless. "Damn it!" he exclaims and starts kissing her like a madman.

Valentina tries to push him away and not reciprocate the kiss. "What do you want to do with me, Valentina?" Alexander whispers over her plump lips before kissing her again.

Valentina tries to step back to stop him from kissing her, but it's impossible as he is insistent.

She stumbles and they both fall onto the bed.

Alexander grabs her hands so she can't push him away. "Look into my eyes," he orders, but she closes them and mentally curses herself for the tear slowly sliding down her right cheek, a tear that Alexander kisses, surprising Valentina. "Enough, Alexander!" Valentina locks her honey-colored eyes on her husband's, who is battling internally. He desires to kiss her and make her his, but he also wants to make her suffer. These thoughts wrestle as he stares at her.

"You're ruining my life, Valentina!"

Valentina's chest rises and falls due to the nerves he causes in her. "It's only been a few days, and I feel like I can't take it anymore," he confesses.

"Those words have multiple meanings, so be direct, Alexander," Valentina swallows.

Alexander's cellphone interrupts their intriguing conversation.

"You should answer it. I assume it's your lover. Go to her, like you always do."

Alexander, still cornering Valentina, takes his cellphone out of his pants pocket and looks at the screen. "Mother?" he answers with concern, hearing his mother sobbing.

Alexander Williams stands up, and Valentina, seeing the expression on his face, knows it's bad news. She quickly runs to her closet. "What's happening, Mother? Please, tell me!"

"Your father..." she replies with a trembling voice. "Your father has passed away," the woman sobs, and her cellphone falls to the granite floor. She couldn't bear it anymore.

"Mother!" Alexander feels like his world is crumbling with that heart-wrenching news.

"What's going on?" Valentina approaches her husband, who is lost in his gaze. "Alex!" she is already dressed.

"My father died..." that news shocks Valentina. She thought his health had been affected but to die? Valentina is immediately devastated. That man who gave her love, that unconditional love, has passed away.

"No, it can't be!" her profound pain leads her to make the decision to run away from the mansion.

"Valentina!" Alexander follows her.

"I have to go to him. This can't be true." She gets into her car.

But Alexander won't let her go alone. Without permission, he gets into her car.

"Drive carefully," he simply says as he sinks into his thoughts of pain over the loss of his loved one.

"Damn it," she whispers, her vision blurred because tears flow effortlessly as she drives toward the clinic. "You can't leave me," Alexander hears that whisper.

But Valentina drives like a maniac, disregarding traffic lights and other cars, not caring about their company or what may happen. Alex turns to look at her, and his wife doesn't even blink. She won't show him the fear she's causing him by driving that way.

Upon arriving at the clinic, they both quickly get out of the car and enter in search of answers.

Mrs. Williams has been taken to a room after fainting during her call with her son. She couldn't bear it any longer.

"What the hell happened?" Alexander approaches the doctor in charge of his father's medical care and grabs him by the collar.

"Sir..." the doctor swallows hard.

"Alexander, let him go!" Valentina intervenes.

"You were supposed to take care of my father! How did he die?" Alexander shakes him.

"Let him go, for God's sake," Valentina growls, seeing that others are watching, and this could cause problems for Alexander.

Alexander does it, with his hands still raised in a gesture of peace, and then the poor doctor gathers enough air to give an explanation.

"Damn it, I spoke!" Alexander exclaims impatiently.

"Sir... What you have done will bring consequences, you cannot assault a doctor. I did my job, Mr. Williams could not bear anymore and had a heart attack. He was fine this morning when you left, but then everything became strange. Something scared him and he collapsed. His heart was already weak, so it's not my fault."

"Doctor, please forgive my husband. He is going through an emotional crisis. Tell me, where is Mr. Williams?" Valentina's broken voice catches the doctor's attention.

"He is still in his room, Mrs. Williams."

Valentina rushes towards the old man. When she reaches the room and sees him motionless, lifeless, she embraces him tightly, letting her tears fall onto Mr. Williams' chest.

Upon entering and seeing her clinging to him, tears start to stream down Alexander's face. Out of pain, he punches the doorframe before bringing his hands to his head.

"Friend..." Milan approaches. "I'm sorry, friend. The news of Mr. Williams' death is spreading."

Valentina stops embracing Mr. Williams and looks around. She feels so much resentment. She had planned to come today and see him, but she didn't yesterday because of everything that was going on. And now, he's gone, and she couldn't say goodbye to the man who was like a father to her.

But that white rose catches her attention.

Valentina takes it in her hands. "Greetings, I am Agent Rous. I have come to conduct an investigation because we received a notification that Mr. Williams' death was not natural but rather a murder.
