Episode 4

Valentina was taken aback, yet found pleasure in the kiss, what astonished Alexander the most was that she introduced her tongue into it.

"These youngsters... save your passion for the night," Mrs. Williams teased.

Valentina stopped kissing him to lower her gaze, truly, she was completely flushed, she did not even turn to look at Alexander, not wanting the joy of the kiss to be marred by his typically icy stare.

Mrs. Williams took hold of the wine bottle and then winked at Valentina, leaving them alone.

"You make me do these things," he muttered under his breath, "I need you to behave."

"Don't talk to me like that!" Valentina snapped back at his sarcasm and walked away to her in-laws, leaving Alexander by himself.

"By the way, I have something important to tell you, on my behalf... I'm going to work at the construction company, I studied business administration, so my husband and I will spend more time together," Valentina smiled, knowing that Alexander was seething with anger.

"That sounds wonderful, it's just like when my husband and I worked together to grow the construction business, those were the days, such fond memories. But then Alexander came along, and I dedicated myself to him, and of course, I have no regrets, I feel like I've enjoyed every stage," Mrs. Williams said, looking at Valentina with great fondness.

Alexander's cell phone rang, causing Valentina to fix her gaze on him.

"Aren't you going to answer that, dear husband?"

"It's family day, so... I don't want to," he replied, "DEAR WIFE."

Yet, Alexander's phone continued to ring.

"Answer, son, it might be important," his father advised, and Valentina poured herself more wine, watching Alexander intently.

"Excuse me," Alexander rose to take the call.

"Lore, love," Lore was on edge, needing to know if Alexander had kept his word.

"Sweety," he whispered.

"Why are you whispering? What's wrong, my love?"

"Lore, my parents are here."

"I see. You don't know how much I look forward to us living together, having your parents visit, and I'll take such good care of them."

"I know..."

"You haven't told your fat wife yet."

Alexander sighed, "Listen, things are getting complicated because Valentina threatened me."

"She's manipulating you, Alex!" Lore exclaimed impatiently.

"Don't be angry, darling, let me handle this. How much longer must I wait?"

"Listen, I don't want to argue right now, please, don't add more storms to my life, I promise I'll settle this, but for now, don't call me."

While Alexander was on the phone, Valentina watched from a distance, knowing that he was talking to his mistress.

Alexander had to delay his return due to Lore's anger, and Valentina had her demands as a result.

After the eventful lunch, Valentina bid farewell to her in-laws and grabbed a wine bottle from the mini-bar. She was still deeply hurt, having only discovered her husband's infidelity yesterday and struggled to accept it.

As she headed to the garden, Alexander called out, "Valentina, we need to talk," and she stopped.

"I've said what I needed to say!" she kept walking, and he turned furious.

He followed her and gripped her arm.

"You can't ignore me! I'm still the man of this house! You owe me respect!"

Valentina freed herself from his grasp, and with her free hand, she slapped her husband's godlike face.

"You demand respect when you were the first to fail! Are you truly the man of the house? That's too big for you!" she growled while Alexander snatched the wine bottle from her hand and hurled it against the wall.

"No matter, I'll find another!" she laughed in his face, increasing his ire. He was annoyed at her newfound defiance; throughout their three-year marriage, she had been practically submissive to whatever he said, but now, she was entirely the opposite.

She walked over to the mini-bar, opened a new bottle of wine, and drank from it directly.

"You're becoming an alcoholic!"

"You know, Alexander," she turned to look at him with a gaze that was both cold and empty, "life has a way of dealing with karma, and when life makes you pay for all you've done to me, you'll understand my pain, but since you don't care right now—don't mess up my life!"

At that moment, the doorbell rang.

"Did you hear that? Maybe it's your mistress!" Valentina mocked. "Go open the door! Hurry, and welcome that woman with your arms wide open!"

"You have no idea what you're talking about!" Alexander raised his voice and went to open the door; it was Milan, Alexander's best friend.

"Milan, you're back," greeted Alexander.

"Yes, the vacation was too long. But look at Mrs. Williams, how beautiful you look today, Valentina," Milan complimented her, and she offered a smile.

"At least you aren't blind," she threw a barb, setting down the wine bottle and passing by them, "you have a lot to talk about."

"Where do you think you're going?" Alexander demanded, following her.

"Leave me alone! By the way... I might not come back tonight, goodbye Milan, make yourself at home," Valentina smiled and left the house.

"Valentina!" Alexander growled.

"Is it my imagination, or does Valentina want to kill you? What did you do, buddy?" Milan looked at Alexander questioningly.

"That woman is a nightmare!" Alexander complained and stormed out of the house. "Stop right there, Valentina!"

"You don't command me!" Valentina retorted.

"Maybe I'll come back another time," Milan headed towards his car.

"No, don't go, Milan. Stay because I think you guys have a lot to talk about. You know, those stupid man talks where you discuss trashy conquests—I'm out!"
