Episode 19

"That can't be possible!" exclaimed Alexander, because his father has no enemies, so he can't tolerate the fact that such a good man like his father has been killed.

"Sir, when money is involved, anything is possible. Are you...?" the agent turned to look at Valentina.

She turned to look at him. "I'm Valentina Williams," she introduced herself, and the agent noticed Valentina holding the rose.

"I kindly ask you to keep your distance from the deceased," advised the agent.

"Look, Agent, my father had a heart condition. Nobody killed him here. Leave him in peace. My mother doesn't need any more torment. We want to give him a sacred burial in peace," Alexander's annoyed voice made Valentina cry.

"Agent, the Williams family seeks privacy," Milan intervened.

"Mr. Williams, I'm just doing my job. I want to get to the bottom of this situation. What if your father was murdered? Wouldn't you want to know who the culprit was?" the agent approached Valentina. "And you brought roses to the deceased so quickly?" The agent's sarcasm angered Valentina.

"How dare you speak that way! For God's sake, respect the death of Mr. Williams!" Valentina placed the rose where it was before.

"Check the security cameras. It turns out that the one in this hallway was disconnected. I'm investigating every assistant and doctor who passed through this hallway because no one in particular did."

"So, according to you, the one who killed my father was dressed as a doctor?" Alexander entered the room.

"Exactly! And I will get to the bottom of this because what is even more curious is that the person dressed as a doctor was holding a white rose, the same one Mrs. Williams was holding. It makes me think of many things."

"What the hell are you saying? I saw my wife take it," Alexander intervened.

"Look, Agent, investigate all you want, but please leave us alone," Valentina requested, turning her back.

Agent Rous nodded and left them alone.

"What the fuck is this?" Milan couldn't believe it.

"It's impossible that someone harmed my old man!" Alexander approached Mr. Williams and as he placed his hand on him, he could feel how cold he was becoming.

"I'm so sorry," Milan approached Alexander and hugged him, gently patting his back, and then he approached Valentina, but she immediately stepped aside, grabbing her husband's attention.

Milan clenched his jaw due to Valentina's rejection. "I'll step out for a moment," Milan left them alone to calm his anger.

In the room, only Valentina's crying can be heard as Alexander weeps silently.

"What if it's true, Alexander? It's not fair that Mr. Williams went through that. He doesn't deserve it," Valentina is uneasy.

"If that's the case, I will make sure that the murderer never sees the light of day," those words sent shivers down Valentina's spine.

...

The situation is very lamentable because the Williams family is in such great pain that it burns the heart. In that cold and lonely cemetery, Mrs. Williams stands, a woman who, despite being devastated, maintains her elegance.

Valentina, who has just arrived, carries a large bouquet of white roses as a symbol of purity and peace, as that is what Mr. Williams transmitted to her. When Alexander notices her approach, he looks at her strangely.

The few people accompanying them are elderly friends of Mr. Williams and the businessmen who came to do business with that honorable man.

Valentina places her bouquet of roses on the fine wooden coffin and sighs deeply, a sigh of pain.

"My love," Lore approaches Alexander. She had been calling him, but he didn't respond.

"Lore, what are you doing here?" Alexander remains firm.

"My love, I came to give you my support. I know how important your father was to you," she embraces him, and Valentina sadly watches their embrace, but she again focuses on Mr. Williams, and Mrs. Williams approaches.

Alexander gently pushes Lore aside. "Don't hug me, Lore. My mother is here. It's best if you leave."

"What? You should tell me what's happening in our relationship once and for all. You no longer want my company, my kisses, my hugs. It's been days since we made love."

"Lore, it's not the right moment, please. Let's talk later."

"When?" she asked angrily, but kept her voice low.

"You should have some respect. We are burying my father... Look, Lore, I don't want to be rude, but I've been going through different situations lately. Give me some time."

"Time, Alexander? I can't accept that. You are mine and you love me. You are just stressed with all these situations, and on top of it all, the death of your beloved father. I'm truly sorry, Alex, but you can't ask me for time."

"Where is your understanding, then?"

Lore falls silent.

"Alright, forgive my outburst. Please, find me... I miss you, my love."

"Okay," Alexander responds, and then Lore leaves. He walks towards the casket because it's time to bury his father.

Valentina doesn't want to argue, but she is upset with Alexander.

At night, Alexander, Valentina, and Mrs. Williams are in the living room having tea.

"I'm glad you accepted to stay at our house for a few days," Valentina smiles with forced enthusiasm.

"Thank you, my dear. You are lovely, and your son, I know you have a good heart, you're just making mistakes. And although... my dear husband wouldn't like to see me suffer, that's why I know life goes on, unfortunately."

The doorbell rings, and Valentina hurries to open it, as it's unusual since she's not expecting anyone.

"Good evening, Mrs. Williams," greets the lawyer.

"Lawyer, what are you doing here?" Valentina steps aside, and he enters politely.

"Please, come in," Mrs. Williams requests, and Valentina closes the door.

Both of them reach the living room.

"The lawyer came because I asked him to," Mrs. Williams swallows and can't continue speaking.

"Mr. and Mrs. Williams, the reason I'm here is to discuss the will."

"Lawyer, it's not the right moment. Mr. Williams just passed away," Valentina interrupts.

"And truly, my condolences, but it's my job. And if I don't comply with orders, it would be breaking my promise."

"If it's about signing the inheritance my father left for me, we can leave it for another time. Alexander is not in the mood."

"Mr. Williams, you are not the heir."
