Episode 20

The days went by and Mark continued his work at the newspaper while he had no news from Lorenzo even when he called he got no answer.

Mark then still at the newspaper meeting with the director, looked at the messages on his cell phone once again and nothing.

The director looked at him with a nasty smile: "It seems our best journalist has been very mysterious lately, hasn't he Mr. Mark?"

Mark looked at him seriously: "I don't think my private life is any of your business, Mr. Director, and about the agenda of the meeting I'm out, I don't agree about this, I think the private lives of celebrities shouldn't become a police case or a newspaper headline, so you can take me off this." And he grabbed his bag to leave.

The director looked at him closing the laptop: "So you no longer need money to pay off your family debts, Mr. Mark?"

Mark looked at him: "My family's debts are none of your business, let alone any reason for you to laugh. I think my time at this newspaper is up, I'm lost, I quit and Mr. Director, find another investigative journalist." And he threw his badge on the table and left.

The director looked at the badge and punched the table: "That idiot kid really thinks he can get away with this and there won't be consequences."

Outside, Mark took a deep breath and went to the diner across the street and ordered a juice and sat there thinking.

When suddenly there was a huge explosion sound and when they could see what happened because of the huge dust that rose in the air they ended up seeing the building he had just left, partly all in ruins and some people coming out from under some debris injured and coughing a lot.

Mark ran a little forward to see what was going on and at the same time called the firemen.

People came to help the injured to safety and some onlookers took pictures or recorded on their cell phones.

Soon after, the fire department arrived along with ambulances and began their work of rescuing those who were still trapped in the rubble.

The hours went by and the rest continued at full speed.

Mark was already at the mansion writing on his notebook with the TV on still talking about the mysterious explosion at the journalism building.

Mark then turned off the TV and went down to get some water when he was surprised by Sandro: "What the hell are you doing here? I thought I forbade you from entering the mansion?"

Sandro smiled sarcastically looking at him: "You really think I wouldn't be able to enter the house that belonged to my father, even though I'm not the head of the Maximilian family, I'm still a Maximilian and in the absence of my younger brother I'm the only Maximilian left and soon without him in my way I'll be the head of the family and all this will be possible with your great help," and he approached him.

Mark looked at him suspiciously and pushed him away: "What are you talking about, you crazy, what help do you want from me?"

Sandro brought his face close to his: "Let's just say if you don't do what I tell you to do, your adopted family is the one who will pay dearly, do you understand me my dear Mark?"

Mark's eyes widened in fear: "What did you do to them?"

Sandro then looked at him smiling, touching his face: "I see I finally have your full attention now."

Mark took his hand off his face: "What do you want me to do?"

Sandro walked away from him, going to the fridge, taking a bottle of water and putting it to his mouth and then spoke: "I want you to kill my brother with your own hands after all you are the only one who can get close to him, if you do what I'm telling you your family will be fine, but if you deceive me their fate will be very sad."

Mark looked at him and ran out, catching the first cab he saw passing by.

Sandro then left the mansion with his hands in his pockets and smiling when the guards saw him, they immediately surrounded him, taking him out of the mansion.

Sandro outside looked at them: "Soon you'll all be unemployed because when I take over the family I won't need my half-brother's lackeys on my side so enjoy it while you can boys." And he got in the car and drove away.

Meanwhile Mark arrived at his house distressed looking for his parents and his sister and found no one at home just the empty house and when he went to look at the wardrobes he came across their clothes still in place and began to panic and called his sister's cell phone that no one answered and neither did his parents.

Mark looked everywhere for some clue when he received a mysterious message on his phone with an address where he should go immediately without telling anyone.

Mark looked at the address again and grabbed his father's car keys and left.
