Arriving at the mansion, Mark was locked in the room where he became desperate trying to find a way to escape, but it was impossible because the windows had bars and the door was guarded.
Mark sat nervously, looking at his hands and tapping his feet on the floor until the door opened and he saw Lorenzo entering quickly. He got up, moving away from the bed: "Why did you lie to me all this time even knowing what I was doing? What were you planning? To kill me all along, was that it, Mr. Maximiliano?"
Lorenzo walked over to the nearby chair and sat down, crossing his legs and looking at him: "My plan was just to continue being your confidant until you told me everything you already know about my family, and even then I hadn't planned anything yet."
Mark looked at him with a sad smile on his face: "I honestly thought you were someone nice, that you were my friend, but it seems I was too naive to believe that. What a good investigative reporter I am, right? I was fooled by you."
Lorenzo continued to look at him: "Did you really think I could be your friend? Frankly, you are too naive, Mr. Mark."
Mark looked at him, running a hand over his head: "What do you intend to do with me now? Kill me? If you're going to, do it now and get it over with. Isn't that how the mafia solves its problems?"
Lorenzo stood up, approaching him and smelling his scent: "I still haven't decided what I'm going to do with you, my dear journalist. Until then, I'm going to keep you locked up here."
Mark took a deep breath: "I'm not staying, I can guarantee you that, Mr. Maximiliano."
Lorenzo then stepped away, looking at him seriously: "So, yes, I'll have to kill you, and your entire beautiful family along with you. But until then, consider yourself my special guest," he said, locking the door behind him.
Mark looked at the door furiously and punched it: "You can't keep me locked up here, Mr. Maximiliano, this is kidnapping!"
Lorenzo stopped walking and put his hand in his pocket: "Nobody touches him, do you understand?"
The men agreed, standing guard at the door.
Sandro was at his house when he found out what had happened to the shipment: "Damn Lorenzo, always getting in the way of my plans."
The woman came up to him, bringing a glass of wine and sitting on his lap, smiling: "I know you will do everything you can to defeat him, my love. This won't affect you at all." And they started kissing like crazy on the sofa.
Sandro then stood up, leaving the woman on the sofa: "I need to find out what's going on at the mansion. And you, my dear, don't go anywhere yet, I'll be back." And he left.
The woman then lay down on the sofa, finishing her wine, and smiled as she looked at Lorenzo's photo on the side table: "If you weren't Sandro's rival and half-brother, I'd love to have you in my bed."
At the mansion, Lorenzo was in his bath, thinking about what had happened with him and Mark: "What the hell? Why did he have to go through my truck like that?"
Willy entered, knocking on the door: "Lorenzo, I know you must already know what I'm going to say, but you can't keep that man here for long. You need to find out what he knows and… the rest you know, right?"
Lorenzo looked at him, grabbing the towel and wrapping himself in it: "You don't need to teach me my duty to the family. Or have you forgotten who I am here, Mr. Willy?"
Willy looked at him: "Like you'd ever let me forget that, my friend. But it's good that you stay alert. After all, your half-brother is not a trustworthy person, you know that very well. Meaning he's just waiting for you to slip up so he can take advantage. So, my friend, I suggest you get rid of the journalist, for your own good."
Lorenzo took a deep breath, looking at him: "Don't you dare lay a finger on him, or I'll forget we're friends, do you understand me, Willy?"
Willy smiled, looking at him: "My friend, see what you're getting yourself into, please." And he left, leaving him alone.
Lorenzo looked at the floor, running a hand over his head and sighing deeply, going to his room to get dressed and rest for a bit.
Soon after, Sandro arrived, parking his Ferrari and entering the mansion, followed by the house security: "What do you think you're doing? Do you think I'm going to do something in my brother's house? Speaking of which, where is he?"
Lorenzo appeared at the top of the stairs, wearing a confident outfit: "What are you doing here at this hour, Sandro?"
Sandro looked at him, smiling: "I heard you were involved in a shootout today, so I came to see if my little brother was okay. You know how it is, news travels fast."
Lorenzo just stared at him: "As you can see, I'm not dead yet, so you don't need to spread the news."
Sandro smiled, looking at him: "You know, brother, I think we should throw a party so everyone can meet the new head of the family. What do you think, little brother?"
Lorenzo descended a few steps of the stairs: "I forgot, I don't want a party. Our father's death hasn't even been a month yet, and I'm still not convinced that his death was accidental, seeing as Dad was an excellent shooter and never went anywhere without his security or used drugs. One thing I know is that I will find out the truth and the culprit will pay dearly, no matter who it is. Do you understand me, brother?"
Sandro smiled at him: "I see you haven't changed a bit. Still the same heartless man you've always been. In that case, I wish you luck in your investigation. And one more thing… I'm still with your hot ex-girlfriend. If you ever want her back, just let me know," he said, walking away smiling.
Lorenzo just stood on the stairs, watching him go, and then went up to his room.
