Episode 13

Arriving at the scene of the accident, he ran, trying to get some news about the passengers in the car, but nothing. Firefighters still hadn't found the bodies.

Sandro was also there, standing where the car had plunged, and watched with a slight smile on his face when he saw Mark approaching: "Well, well, look who's here. Seems my brother finally set you free, so you must be feeling relieved now that he's supposedly dead amidst these countless stones."

Mark looked at him: "How can you be so calm knowing what happened to your brother?"

Sandro turned to him, smiling: "If it's finally proven that he's dead, I will finally have the place that should have been mine by right, not his. And who knows, maybe you could even work for me, or something more."

Mark looked at him and then to where the car had plummeted: "If that happens, don't think this organization will be the same."

Sandro grabbed him, smiling: "What do you think you're going to do, journalist? Arrest me? Please, if even the police can't do that. After all, everyone is on the family payroll, and you're just a nosy, pretty-faced journalist who could end up full of holes if I wanted."

Mark shoved him away: "If anything happens to me, you'll be in trouble, and please, threats won't work with me, not this time." He walked away from the scene.

Sandro put his hands in his pockets, laughing: "Oh, journalist, you really don't know what awaits you when I become the new head of the family." He looked again at where the car had fallen, spat, and left.

In the car, Mark rested his head on the seat and took a deep breath, looking ahead: "Let's get out of here, please."

The driver started the car and drove away from the scene. He stopped further along, near the beach where the water was crashing against the rocks, bringing seaweed onto the sand.

Mark walked among the rocks, looking for any trace of the accident.

The driver went with him: "Sir, this place is too dangerous."

Mark looked ahead: "If they fell from the cliff, the water brought them here. With any luck, they may both still be alive. Let's go further."

The driver looked at him and went to help without another word. After some time, they ended up finding a body near a sand dune and ran to where they were. As he got closer, he saw the injuries.

Mark knelt down to see if they were alive. When he found that they were, he breathed a sigh of relief and smiled: "Let's get them out of here."

The driver looked at him, frightened: "We can't take them anywhere. Whoever tried to kill them might still be watching."

Mark looked at Lorenzo, seeing his nasty wound and Willy's as well: "We can't leave them like this."

The driver looked at him: "We could take them to your house, sir. After all, they still don't know about your relationship with the boss."

Mark looked at him: "My parents live there. I can't put them in danger like this."

The driver looked at him: "Mr. Mark, at this moment, he only has you and me, since Mr. Willy is also injured."

Mark took a deep breath: "You're right, this is no time to overthink. Come on, let's get them to the car." They did so quickly.

Once in the car, they took the blanket they had in the trunk and covered them. Soon after, the driver drove away quickly.

Sandro was sitting in his car, listening to music, waiting for news of his brother's body, which had not yet been found. As night was approaching, the rescue searches were being suspended for the time being.

Sandro looked on and drove away, singing victory for his brother's disappearance.

Mark arrived home through the back gate and they entered the house.

The driver looked around the room: "Sir, I need to notify security."

Mark approached him: "No, you can't do that. First, it will raise suspicion among the neighbors to see armed men around here, and second, it's my parents who won't understand anything. So we're not going to keep this a secret, stay here, I'll get my sister, she can help." And he left.

Anya was in her room studying when her brother came running in, calling for her help.

Anya looked up, startled: "My God, brother, what happened? Are you hurt?"

Mark took her hand: "I'm fine, but I need your medical expertise to save two people, please, my sister."

Anya grabbed her bag and went with him. When she arrived in the room, she saw them and was startled to see Willy there too: "How do you know them, and what happened to them?"

Mark looked at her: "I'll explain everything later, my sister. Now please take care of them."

Anya looked at them: "Bring water and clean towels and I'll do what I can, but they really need to go to the hospital."

The driver looked at her: "Miss, please, you have to help them. I promise they will be very grateful to you."

Anya looked at him and shook her head. She started to tend to their wounds with her brother's help, and this lasted almost all night. Finally, Anya managed to stabilize them: "I've done all I can for now, now we need to see how they react. I'm also going to need some antibiotics, which I'll pick up in a little while. In the meantime, you two get some rest." She left the room.

Mark watched them with concern.
