"I'm sorry," Scott said, pushing her aside. She looked saddened as Scott searched for his mobile phone in his pants pocket.

Scott made a displeased gesture.

"Is something wrong?" she asked.

"Just don't speak," he ordered, and then answered the call.

"Hello?"

"Where are you!? I'm worried about you, my love. How could this happen? Are you okay? Are you in a hospital? Tell me, I'll come for you, darling," Alexa spoke tearfully.

Scott couldn't prevent Nicol from hearing Alexa's desperate voice.

"I'm fine, I'm coming home now," he said, softening his voice and looking at Nicol, seeing the disappointment on her face.

Scott hung up the call.

"You..." he started to say, but she interrupted him.

"I understand," Nicol said in a limited tone, then grabbed the sheet and covered herself completely.

Scott closed and opened his eyes, filled with frustration.

He quickly started dressing and glanced at Nicol once more before angrily leaving.

Upon reaching his car, he kicked the tire and got inside, slamming the door shut.

"He has someone who loves him," Nicol whispered and cried silently.

Scott knew smoking was harmful, but he did it anyway. He chain-smoked as he drove home, but upon arriving, he noticed the light in Alexa's sleeping room was still on. He didn't feel like getting out of the car and facing her reproaches.

He smoked another cigarette and then left; dawn was already breaking, and he preferred going to the office as he was. There, he had his private bathroom to freshen up. Another thing he did was turn off his mobile phone.

At 7 a.m., someone knocked on Scott's office door.

"Come in," he said, not stopping his typing on his laptop.

"Good morning, boss and friend. How are you?" Miguel asked, taking a seat.

"Not very well," Scott replied, without enthusiasm.

"It's obvious. Why aren't you answering Alexia's calls? The poor woman was worried about you," Miguel said, fixing his gaze on Scott.

"I wanted to be alone," Scott replied.

"Friend, Alexia is the woman you have always loved. She is willing to do anything for you. You should divorce Nicol," Miguel suggested.

Scott fell silent.

"She made a special dinner for you yesterday and you left her waiting," Miguel continued.

"How do you know that?" Scott snapped.

"I went there last night to see if she needed anything, and she was very animated while preparing dinner. She's a girl who has never fallen in love, Scott. What are you going to do if she falls in love with you? Although she must already be," Miguel crossed his arms.

"She knows she shouldn't," Scott felt the urge to smoke.

"I told you she's a girl, my friend. She's not like you and me, mature people who have experienced life. She doesn't know how to control her feelings. Yesterday, I could see that she's in love with you," Miguel stared fixedly at Scott.

Scott Hamilton went silent, remembering how she gave herself to him in the early morning, her smile, moans, and that innocent yet seductive gaze.

"What are you thinking, Scott?" asked Miguel, somewhat annoyed.

"Nothing important."

The office door swung open wide.

"Seems like I have to come and get my man. Don't you have any consideration for me?" she asked, somewhat angry.

"I'll leave you two alone," Miguel said, standing up.

Scott sighed.

"I have a lot of work, Alexia. Wait for me at home, and we'll talk."

"No! I am your woman, and you are my man, Scott Hamilton. Right now, you're going to tell me what is going on, why I don't deserve your lies. I thought my arrival would make you happy, but no, I wake up in the middle of the night and my man is gone. What is happening to you!?" Alexia's voice raised in exasperation.

Scott hit the desk forcefully, and she jumped in surprise.

He stood up angrily, about to say something, but a sharp pain in his chest silenced him. He placed his right hand on his chest, showing discomfort. Scott collapsed onto the floor.

"Scott!" she screamed loudly, alarming Miguel, who was passing by and heard the commotion. He rushed in.

"Miguel, we need to take him to the clinic!" exclaimed Miguel, helping him up. "Breathe slowly, Scott, don't panic, it could worsen," Miguel said. He accompanied Scott Hamilton towards the elevator, but suddenly everything went dark for Scott and he fainted.
