Sara: I'm drained and yet Adam shows no sign of wanting to leave.
Adam: Sara's tired, though she never complains. She just can't hide it.
Let's go, Sara.
Sara: I get up, feeling intense pain in my feet.
Adam: My parents say goodbye; they're heading to their house. I take Sara out through the back to avoid the paparazzi, noticing her grimacing in pain.
Are you alright?
Sara: I'm not used to wearing high heels; my feet are in agony.
As I finish speaking, Adam hoists me onto his shoulders like I'm a sack of potatoes.
Adam! Put me down now.
Adam: I ignore Sara's protests and carry her to the car. I seat her in the vehicle and then climb in myself.
Sara: Adam sits beside me and I remain silent, still shocked after being lugged around like a sack of potatoes. I slip off my heels and sigh with relief. Quietly, at some point, sleep overcomes me.
Adam: Sara practically collapses from sleepiness in the car, and I half-close my eyes, trying to figure out what the hell this girl is doing to my head. We reach home and I try waking her, calling softly a few times to no response. I raise my voice a bit louder and she jolts awake.
Sara!
Sara: Hearing Adam's rough voice, I startle.
My God, Adam, you scared me!
Adam: Without a word, I take Sara's hand and lead her to the entrance.
We're in the living room.
Sara: I can make my way to the bedroom from here, thank you, Adam.
Adam: Sara walks barefoot, heels in hand, and slowly. I watch her dodge the furniture on her way to the stairs, holding the railing as she ascends. She goes straight to the closet, takes out pajamas, and then pauses at the bathroom door, thoughtful.
Sara: Adam...
Adam: What is it, Sara?
Sara: Could you unzip my dress, please?
Adam remains silent, but I hear his footsteps approaching. He brushes my hair off my back and slowly unzips my dress, stopping midway down my waist. I pull away.
That's good, I can manage the rest. Thanks.
Adam: I wait as Sara heads to the bathroom. Once she's out and dressed, I take my turn. I start the shower and stand with my hands against the wall, letting the water cascade down my neck. I need to distance myself from Sara. She's not even my type, and everything is getting out of hand!
Sara: I lie down in bed, curled up on my side as I do every day. Adam exits the bathroom; I hear his steps and the noise from the armchair. For some reason, today, he decides to rest on it.
Adam: There will be a pool party here tomorrow. Nothing much; we do this often. If you don't want to stay for the party, you don't have to, but I do want you to greet the guests.
Sara: Alright. These kinds of things scare me a bit, Adam. If you could stay by my side while I'm at the party, I would appreciate it.
Adam: For the first time since meeting her, I consider Sara's limitations. I close my eyes, picturing what it must feel like to be engulfed in total darkness surrounded by strangers, unable to even recognize who comes near.
Sara: Goodnight, Adam.
Adam: Watching Sara, she falls asleep quickly. Eventually, sleep claims me as well.
Sara: I wake up early, take care of my hygiene, change clothes, and head downstairs, lured by a wonderful aroma.
What's that delicious smell?
Katy: Corn cake. Good morning, Sarinha.
Sara: Good morning, Katy.
Katy: Have a piece of cake. Sarinha, there's going to be a party here today. Several waiters are expected, and by the looks of it, it won't be small. You need to be careful. We'll keep an eye on you, but Adam's parties usually get out of hand.
Sara: How so?
Katy: By the amount of alcohol that's arrived, there will likely be a lot of drunkenness.
Sara: Understood. I'll stick close to Adam; don't worry.
Josiane: That's precisely what worries me.
Sara: Good morning, Josi.
Josiane: Good morning, Sarinha. I overheard some of your conversation. To give you my opinion, this party is outrageous!
Sara: You two are taking my worries upon yourselves and need to be cautious about that. I appreciate your concern, but I want to live a normal life and not hold myself back. It's just a home party.
Josiane: I hope to be proven wrong, Sara. Adam's friends aren't trustworthy; to them, everything can be solved with money, and people are expendable.
Sara: I understand there are many cruel people in the world, but there are also good ones.
Katy: I've been assigned to the kitchen, so if you need anything, you know where to find me.
Josiane: I'll be managing the waitstaff, so I'll be around the party.
Time passes, and I head up to help Sara get ready. She slips into a swimsuit, leaving her hair loose. Sara has no idea how beautiful she is, with a woman's body and a girl's face.
Sara: Does it look okay?
Josiane: You're beautiful, Sara.
Adam enters the room and I can see jealousy burning his face. It's almost laughable, but I hold back. He seems to choke a bit as he eyes Sara from head to toe.
(Adam and Sara)
Adam: You're going to go down like that?
Sara: I suppose so, it's a swimsuit for a pool party. Should it be a bikini?
Adam: I eye the tiny bikini on the bed, assuming she's referring to that skimpy item.
No!
Sara: I'm puzzled by Adam's rudeness.
Josiane: I turn my back to conceal my laughter at Adam growling a no to Sara. I'm sure he noticed the tiny bikini on the bed. Sara gave it up thinking it was too small; she said it came with her stuff, but it's from Lize.
Adam: Josiane leaves, and Sara sits on the bed waiting for me to go down. Her hourglass figure, with medium breasts, a full bottom, wide hips, toned legs, and a slim waist, is hard not to stare at. She is truly striking, and I'm sure this will be the last pool party I host here.
